My office recently ordered lunch from Freedom Ala Cart since they are downtown and they offer delivery to the immediate downtown area. Why not support a great local cause?! We went with a combination of 4 different boxed lunch sandwiches and everything was FANTASTIC! From«The Classic» chicken salad sandwich to the«Hamaletta» hand-carved ham sandwich to the«Burly Bohemian» vegan option it is very apparent that they use only the freshest ingredients that are paired perfectly to please the palate! Every boxed lunch came with a salty snack, a sweet treat and my personal favorite was the«chef’s special» salad– a chickpea, corn and mint salad with a delicious homemade dressing… yum :) Even those who«don’t eat stuff like that» had to admit it was good once they tried it. Overall it was a hit even with some moderately picky eaters and a we will definitely order from them again! They also do catering and all info can be found on their website:

This is my favorite food cart in Columbus! The Latin-infused flavors always shine through in whatever creative dish they’ve dreamed up. I never hesitate to try new things I see on the menu — most recently at Independent’s Day, I inhaled a creamy eggplant sandwich. It featured a delightful blend of spices and had a surprising crunch with roasted chickpeas. The Papa sandwich is also a go-to favorite — it’s hearty with white beans, potatoes and a spicy sauce. Believe me — you’ll be sorry if you only go for the half size sandwich instead of the full. :) Also, their proceeds go toward fighting human trafficking in Columbus: delicious food for a great cause!

Freedom a La Cart(Carte? I’ve seen it spelled out both ways when refering to this business), offers something a little different amid the bustling world of Columbus’ mobile food scene: charity! I love that the proceeds/profits from this food truck benefit Doma( ), a charity fighting human trafficking, and empowering women. Very cool! Second, the food is really good AND creative. I had«the Gaucho» during my last visit, a giant beef sandwich on a soft hoagie roll, with delicious chimichurri spread and just the right amount of mayo and lettuce. Often this kind of sandwhich beef sitting pre-made in a cart can get a little tough, but Freedom’s sammich stayed beefy and bite-able. Very fresh flavors– and everything on the menu looked interesting! My only gripe is the serving method. I was having my meal at Dinin’ Hall, and the sandwich was delivered to me in a wax paper bag around the sandwich. I was seated at a table, but I really couldn’t set the sandwich down anywhere. The deliciousness ended up weeping quite a bit of juices out its end, so my hand was getting absolutely soggy. I would have liked a plate or at least a small cardboard tray. I’m all for keeping waste down, but I really needed some respite from the mess.

I caught Freedom a la Cart at Dinin’ Hall last month. I had a very inspired raw kale salad perfectly marinated in sesame oil and other lip smacking flavors and dotted with golden raisins, plus the eggplant sandwich topped with wonderfully crunchy little chickpeas for a North African flair. Great meal! Well seasoned and wholesome!

We went to Double Happiness for Yakatori not knowing that they don’t serve it on Wednesday. Instead they have these guys. The profits from this pop up/food cart go to something groovy, I don’t know what– the rainforest or something, the girl working there told us but I didn’t care I was hungry and wanted something yummy. Good intentions and all but the food was meh, very meh. The sandwich wrap was bland and the noodles were greasy. Probably won’t eat there again because there’s just too much really good food out there to ever eat mediocre food.

Ran into them today at the Food Cart get-together on Parsons Ave. Had a really strange sandwich which included potatoes, beans, and some other stuff. Didn’t taste too bad though.
