Franklin County Clerk of Courts Auto Title

I’ve had to come to the Clerk of Courts twice within the last month, and I can say that I’ve been pleased with both of my visits. Unlike the BMV (which is right next door), the people in the Auto Title division are nice and very polite. I especially like the new «check in» feature that they have, where you go and type in your name and reason for your visit, and it pops up on a screen by the counters. It shows who is next, and when a clerk is ready for you, your name pops up on the screen along with what counter to go to. I had to go to record my commission for my notary and also to get the title for my car. Both times, the clerks were very nice, and they didn’t seem like they were annoyed.

I’ve only been to the Title Agency 3 – 4 times during my eight years in Ohio but all of those experiences were relatively positive. Sure, it’s clear that some staff members do not want to be there, but can you blame them? It’s all extra dark and gloomy in there. The energy is just sad and to have to spend 40 hours a week in what amounts to an extra large, poorly lit room could drive anyone insane. So I don’t hold that against them. No one’s ever had a crazy attitude and service is pretty quick. During the majority of my visits, there was usually no line and if there was one, it moved quickly.
They do not accept credit cards and parking spaces are right in front of the building. The closest highway is 71 (morse exit). This location is considered a one stop shop… maybe because the license agency is just a few doors away.
Relatively cool place for a state/​government office.
