Eastern Palace

Very nice place, music was putting me to sleep. We order the seafood soup n it look like vomit. To much egg white. Egg rolls where greasy n the neighborhood is dark. I’ll stay n Bexley n continue to go to Billy Lee’s.

Appearances can be deceiving in this hidden gem. inside you will find quiet eligance with excellent food and service. Great for lunch too. Yummy sushi and plenty of choices. dishes can be modified for special tastes or needs. Nice enough for special occasions and yet family friendly for a weeknight.

This is the best hidden gem for Chinese food in Columbus by far! I have eaten here regularly for the past year and a half and I must say that I have never disliked anything I’ve had. Including the lobster brain that Tony recommended on my birthday. Five star place for sure.

My first trip here so let’s get this out of the way first off. The neighborhood sucks!
That said, had a very late lunch here today after a Union meeting. Almost empty dining room. But luxurious compared to the neighborhood. Extremely capable young lady waited on us and was swift with everything.
As usual I had my eggrolls. Very good; not the best I’ve ever had, but getting there. I’ve had far worse. Almost searing temperature! Good hot mustard and sweet sauce as well.
My test item is wor-​sue-​gai, Very good, and huge portion. I know what lunch is tomorrow. Nicely crisp and tender chicken. But very little lettuce,.green onion and gravy. I never met a gravy I didn’t like and this was good, just too skimpy. Came out of the kitchen very quickly and piping hot.
Another person had their test dish, the sweet and sour chicken and pronounced it as excellent. Her egg-​drop soup she said was some of the best she’s had. Liked the crab Rangoon also.
The third dish was for a vegan. Do you have any idea how difficult it can be to find any restaurant where she can eat without excess explanation? Anyway their vegetable choices are very good and generous. She commented that it was cheaper than our usual pizza place where she gets a pizza without cheese (yuch!) Their menu covers a multitude of tastes.
All told, a successful lunch with prompt service and really decent food.

I’ve been here twice and loved it both times. They closed off the back half of the restaurant for a private event we are having. The service and food was perfect both times. The ribs are my favorite. The restaurant even turned on music for us later in the night so we could dance. It’s a great restaurant and I highly recommend it!

For lunch I ordered 3 egg rolls, hot Oolong tea, and a bowl of Phở with vegetables added at my request. Food nice and hot abd very good tasting. Server was delightful, cheerful, abd not bothersome. She allowed me to enjoy my meal with little intrusion-​just the way I like it! Meal was very filling; I may not be hungry at supper time. Hope wife doesn’t have large meal planned.

My no. 1 favorite Chinese restaurant. All the food we had here are specially picked for us by Tony. All great tasting

Good service! Great food! Prices good too ! Fresh food! I’ve been goin forever I don’t eat at any other Chinese restaurant (well usually) they give u nice size fresh shrimp and have good lunch specials too!

Great food, great drinks, great service

This was my first time here and we ordered a little of everything. We started with the appetizers which was really good it had a variety of things chicken wings crab Rangoon spring rolls. Then the sushi roll combo (spicy) tempura shrimp, California roll, and tuna till
And salmon roll. I ordered chicken and scallops with broccoli it was ok but the pad Thai was really really good!!! I def will be eating that

Went to Eastern Palace for lunch today purely based on previous reviews here on Unilocal.And we were very pleased with the service and the food. We had the hot and sour soup — pretty tasty, then the chicken fried rice — this was delicious with decent sized chunks of chicken, then the Singapore noodles with shrimp and pork — these were some of the best we have ever tasted. We also asked for a side of stir-​fry broccoli and they were very accommodating and provided this for us. We only visit Columbus a few times a year, but we will definitely return here!

This was my 1^st time, I ordered take out … The food was hot … The taste was great!

This is a best kept secret. I wanted Chinese food really back without driving all the way to Gahanna. I was driving up Livingston Ave and saw this place. Stop and picked up a menu and called back to place an order. OMG, service was amazing and the food was so good. Love this place!!!

I have driven by this restaurant a few times wondering what was going on… Well, the night I went, NOTHING!!!
Kinda dead, the waitress was running the sweeper when my wife and I came in and once she finished, she asked us to follow her and then pointed at a table and kept on walking to plug the vacuum in somewhere else. I guess we were supposed to be sitting down.
Once we got the menu, and placed the order, the food came out one thing at a time. The soda was extra weak. We has to convince the waitress to serve us another. The wings I ordered were good, but I realized I had eaten only 5 and thought the menu said 8, I asked about it and she said it did say 8 but they only give 5, «Chicken too expensive!» was her retort, lol
My wife liked her shrimp fried rice and is sending me there vary out from now on, I bumped my review up from two stars to three. There’s a saxophonist playing live jazz on Saturday evenings and I may check that out.

I have to admit, I was pretty disappointed with this place. I read the reviews on Unilocal before coming and had high expectations. Maybe my experience was an anomaly.
We started with edamame and vegetable rolls. The edamame was not fresh at all. Some of it was mushy and some of it was still cold. The vegetable rolls were filled with only cabbage and tasted like they were fried in oil that had been sitting out all day.
I ordered sushi and wasn’t very impressed. The Las Vegas Roll was fried, but didn’t have that nice crunch that other fried sushi has. It was okay, but definitely not worth the price. The ginger that came with the sushi also did not taste fresh.
If you’re looking for good sushi, I recommend Moshi in Bexley. It’s about the same price as Eastern Palace but way better.
I probably won’t be going back.

Good food here!

This is one of the better Chinese restaurants I have been to in the Columbus area. The sushi is very good and not over priced. All the food we ordered has been consistently good and the restaurant has a great environment. It has never really blown my mind with over the top deliciousness, but it is good and consistent.
I would recommend it.

This place is very nice inside. They have sushi, some great specialties (I haven’t tried yet) and your normal typical items you’d find at any Chinese restaurant.
I really didn’t have much of an appetite and just went with the War Sue Gai, I wasn’t going to expect much, since there really isn’t much to this dish. It was typical of what you would get from any takeout joint.
Next visit, I’ll have to try the specialties which sound more authentic and varied to the rest of the menu.
The veggie spring rolls were excellent! Light and crisp!

Just went back last week and they quit serving steamed brown rice!!! What!!! The food did not taste fresh and the service was off. I am sad…
