History

Established in 2007.

Here in the United States, a lot of our traditional floristry stems from European customs, especially when Americans consider what style looks best. You probably remember your grand-​mother hand picking flowers outside from her garden and arranging them in a vase inside because company was coming over. That is American style. From the European continent, masses of flowers in a vase tend to dominate what most consider floral design. Technically speaking, it is not.

Floral design requires careful thought, consideration, techniques and methods to not only prolong the lifespan of cut flower materials, but also some artistry in matching and other design principles to create the right arrangement, also keeping in mind the occasion and personalities involved. Skilled designers draw on techniques passed to us from Oriental customs in floral designs; and as individuals we have special knowledge from other traditions and peoples.
