Curry & Hurry Indian Restaurant

I ask you to avoid this place. Why I came here is because I thought it might actually be not that bad. It has worse food than the horrible Indian Kitchen. The food is way overpriced. There is no reason to charge more than $ 12 for a simple curry, naan, and samosas. Curry was flavorless and watery. The samosas were not as bad.

Just moved to Columbus and was craving Indian. Ordered from Curry and Hurry and over an hour later received easily the worst Indian food I have EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.
I ordered Sabnam curry and garlic naan with the mint chutney.
This food was so bad (HOW BAD WAS IT?) I had to put it on the stove to doctor it up to even make it edible. I had to put it on the stove to heat it up, anyway, because the curry was so cold. Additionally, it was so thin it was like soup, and was reminiscent to Campbell’s Tomato Soup in taste. I ordered it spicy and it most certainly was not, I added Sriracha. The mint chutney was so sweet, I thought it was ¾ sugar. When I unwrapped the naan I thought it was a tortilla, and when I flipped it over it was burnt!
Do not order from this place. I know delivery is convenient but you really should just order takeout from AAB India, instead.

It’s a gross place but I still find myself showing up pretty regularly. Most of the time you can get a decent chicken curry. Every now and then you’ll have to throw it in the trash.

We ordered take out and there was a hair AND a cockroach in our meal. Needless to say we will not be ordering from this place again.

Pathetic, tasteless and worst food ever. I tried their chicken tikka masala and I can proudly say even I can make better curry than their chef. It was so bland and full of oil. Never going to eat from this place. Restaurants like these deteriorates Indian cuisine. Please shut your restaurant and do Indian culture some good.

This is the worst delivery service I have ever seen and the food just mediocre. I will never order from here again. I ordered at 7 and I didn’t get my food until 9 I had to call them 3 times and they didn’t even apologize. They keep coming up with excuses and when I got the food, it was very cold.
You will be much better off at other Indian restaurants.

Chicken Mushroom! Kima Nan!

Wow I’m surprised at these negative reviews – every time I’ve gotten food from here its been great! Sure the inside of the store looks a little dumpy but the food has always been delicious. I’ve ordered take out three times from Curry & Hurry and received my food within 30min each time. Their chicken korma is especially good. Honestly I can’t believe so many people have rated this place so low.

Ordered Delivery. Love the Rice. Main Dish was OK. Tastes watered down. I really believe over time they have started to add a shot or two of water to the sauce portion of the dish to increase volume. My main issues however, was the Samosa. They arrived charred black. Not gently charred. Not sun-​tanned, we are talking about 3^rd degree burns. I’m actually in shock sitting here looking at what they sent me. They arrived in a container, so someone actually had to place them in there. Wow??? I’m also not very Picky eater. I actually tried to take a bite of the black boogers. As I began to take a bite, the black soot laced my lungs causing immediate coughing and choking. I didnt realize the charcoal would go airborn. Can’t do this place again, even though we laughed for hours about it. See picture of the famous Black Samosa x2.

This establishment is good but way too expensive for mediocre Indian cuisine. In Columbus there are many great Indian options that are first class. This one seems cheap and pales in comparison to the others.

This has to be one of the most under rated restaurants near OSU campus. It’s one of those little known hole in the wall gems that you’ll be proud to introduce your friends to. For about the same price as a combo meal at Wendy’s you can get a simple yet authentic and very tasty meal. Today I had the lamb biryani for lunch and it was great. The meal, just like the restaurant itself was nothing fancy, but what it lacked in presentation or «style points» it more than made up for in flavor and authenticity. They cater the spice level to your liking and the spicy meal I ordered today left me sweating a little bit… which is a good thing.
Also a plus. It’s one of the few places in that area which has ample parking right in front of their store.
If you want great food on a budget then check this place out. I guarantee you if they served the same dish at a primarily dine in restaurant with a wait staff, ceramic dishes, and silverware and charged 50% more you would still gladly pay it.

The place is Indian delivery and carry out, it’s very very obvious it won’t be fantastic, but that’s no reason to get upset.
It is mediocre. If I really really need a fix at 9pm on a Monday again, I will go. Two years ago I tried it and said no. I tried it again and still say no, but it was an improvement. The naan was thin crisp and disappointing. The paneer in my dish was good, but the makhani sauce was pure liquid. It had nice flavor though. The paneer pakora was the best thing I ordered, but not like normal pakora. It was very lightly battered, crisp, and it was a spicy, highly seasoned batter?
I ate all of it because I didn’t want to waste my money, and it satisfied my random need for Indian.
The gentleman who runs it isn’t very pleasant, but he works his ass off! He isn’t very helpful, but based on my observations he is cooking in the kitchen in back, taking orders on the phone, and cashing people out at he register, so how much can you expect?

It’s conveniently located; that’s the best thing about Curry & Hurry, I suppose. The cook (and owner?) is friendly. And the food is usually not bad, but certainly variable in quality.
At it’s best it’s been an acceptable value. Even for a carry-​out, though, the quality should be better. The last two times the food was sufficiently bad that I’ve begun looking for another convenient and quick Indian option.

I ordered for a to go, the food is horrible for that price. The service is terrible. I don’t think this is Indian restaurant. Since it’s run by Bangladesh/​Pakistani gentleman, the cuisine might be very Bangladeshi/​Pakistani.
I love authentic Indian food, by just smelling the food I can really tell which is authentic good food.
The food they are offering for the price is not worth it. There are lot of good Indian restaurant in columbus area for that price /​less you can get better Indian food and service elsewhere

The aloo parathas are delicious. The biryani is to die for! This place is extremely quick and efficient with their service. Food is always freshly prepared and according to your spice level. I highly recommend this restaurant for good Indian food :)

The food was actually pretty but extremely expensive for what get … I ordered the paneer pakora and although it was good, you get 5 little slivers of the fried cheese. I also ordered the naan — you get 1 piece for $ 2.99 … Lamb masala, chicken curry and chicken vindaloo — again, although they were good, you get so little meat and mostly sauce. This dinner cost $ 50 and was pretty pricy for what you get.

This is literally the worst indian delivery food I have ever had in my life. I just wasted $ 23. They forgot my rice, the lamb korma didn’t even smell or look like korma. The naan was greasy and disgusting.
They «didn’t carry mango chutney» even though it’s clearly listed on the menu and I paid for it. The samosas were the only thing minorly passable and they were mushy and not crisp.
I threw the ENTIRE dinner in the trash after taking a tiny taste of the korma.
The lamb wasn’t even lamb, I’m pretty sure it was beef.
There were entire planter’s cashews in the dish.
Go to Aab India on Grandview if you want real indian food.
Worst experience ever in all possible ways and I got DELIVERY.

Whoever writes a review on here and says that this is good, clearly grew up in a place where they have never had good indian food. HORRIBLE.

I’m dropping them down to two stars. For a place calling themselves Curry & Hurry, it should take them less than an hour and a half for a simple delivery order. Sorry folks, but your slowness is unacceptable.

The kitchen is a disgusting, disheveled, disorganized mess. Highly recommend avoiding all appetizers and desserts, because they are made in the microwave and you will get overcharged for them (for example, the $ 3 naan fetches you a single ~10″ patty.)
The curries aren’t too terrible. They’re a little watered down, and the spices/​flavors are much weaker than the average curry, but it’s passable. You’ll pay 2 – 5 dollars less for an entrée than you would for the same dish from the competition, even for Indian Kitchen and the far-​superior Taj Mahal right next door. And as other reviewers have pointed out, the food is served in cheap thin sytrofoam containers, so melting and spilling during transportation are very frequent. At least most places have the sense to wrap these containers in tinfoil.
If you must get delivery from here, tip your drivers in cash only. The owner rips off 50% of their credit card tips.

Curry & Hurry is absolutely amazing. The customer service is exceptional and the food is inexpensive (relative to Indian cuisine) and delicious. Although the store isn’t much to look at and isn’t designed for eating in, they offer carry-​out as well as delivery. I’d highly recommend the panak paneer or baigan barta. If you’re unsure of what to order the staff is exceptional with recommendations.
Overall, for good quality, inexpensive carry-​out Indian food I would highly recommend them.
