Columbus Brew Adventures

My husband and I took the Grandview tour and were totally blown away by the experience. Everyone was very knowledgeable and we learned so much about craft beer. Each stop was fantastic in it’s own way, and the van was really comfortable and convenient.

My husband and I planned a weekend get away to Columbus and decided to try out the Columbus brew scene. We scheduled a tour through Columbus Brew Adventures and couldn’t be happier with the experience. We did the downtown brewery tour which was a day tour — stops included the Columbus Brewing Company (where we started with pizzas, pretzel bread and nachos!), Seventh Son, North High Brewing and Barley’s Irish Pub.
Everything was taken care of. We felt like we got an amazing day for our money. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared a ton of information on Columbus, on the breweries, on the beer, etc. All the breweries we visited were welcoming and ready for us. We always had space designated for us at the pubs and were treated very well.
I would seriously recommend this to anyone who enjoys trying new beers and is up for a mini adventure in a new city. We are planning on trying another tour but this time invite more friends and family to join us!

This makes a fantastic gift! And if your lucky, you’ll be on the receiving end. What a great way to learn about beer, how it’s brewed, what’s happening locally in the craft beer industry and sample some tasty beer. We did the Grandview tour and it did not disappoint. Stops included Smokehouse, Zauber, Four String and The Ohio TapRoom. Beyond the bevy of beer samples, we learned how each owner got their start and what they plan for the future. By the end we were filled with beer and a whole lot of new knowledge about this beverage. Cheers! Great job at organizing a memorable beer tour.

Can’t recommend CBA highly enough! We have taken several wonderful tours with their sister company, Columbus Food Adventures and CBA did not disappoint. We took my parents on the Pitchers and Pizza Tour and everyone had a great time. Jim was very personable and knowledgeable about each pizza joint as well as about each beer. We can’t wait for our next tour!

One of my friends had a gift certificate to CBA and asked me if we’d like to come along. After reading up about it, we said yes, and I’m SO glad we did!
We started out at the Columbus Brewing Company. We were able to hear some of the history, try a flight of beers, and sample some food. The food and beers were delicious! The service was great, too; even though we were early, we were asked if we wanted to come in and have something at the bar. A nice touch! We learned about ABV and IBU, as well as how to properly taste beer.
From there, we took a van (we were a group of 8 and it comfortably seated all of us; 2 per row) to Seventh Son. There, the head brewer spent a good 45 minutes in the brewing room telling us all about the brewing process, even letting us taste different malts that give beers various flavors. He was clearly very passionate. We were then able to try a flight of beer in the back room.
Next, we went to North High Brewing. We were again able to see the brewing process, as well as where you can pay to brew your own beers. The owner was clearly very excited about what he did, and very personable. We got to learn about the architecture of the building, even details like where certain pieces of glass came from. We then tried another flight of beer. I liked ¾, which is really saying something for me!
Finally, we went to Barley’s. Here, we were able to sit in the underground. It was lit up and looked very festive. We tried a few beers and learned about the brewing process. They probably had my favorite beer!
We were then dropped off at Columbus Brewing Company, where we started.
Overall, it was a great time! I knew one of the other couples on the tour, but even if I didn’t, this would be a great activity for just you and a significant other or friend. Everyone was really friendly and personable. The tour itself was very informational and fun. I’m relatively new to the area, and this was a great way to acquaint myself with some of the local breweries. I would definitely go on a similar tour again, and recommend this to anyone! Loved it.

Went with my husband for a downtown brew tour on a Sat. Started at Columbus Brewing Company where we had a lite meal followed by beer tasting. There was a brief history lesson of the area that I enjoyed-​very informative.
2^nd stop was Barleys where the brewmaster Angelo gave us a great history of the beers we tasted. We ended up in the basement party room of Barleys which had history on its own. A nice surprise.
3^rd stop was Seventh Son where the brewmaster Colin explained the process of brewing & different ingredients used.
Last stop was North High Brewing. We learned to history behind the building & interiors. Toured the «make your own brew» room, where you literally can brew & bottle your own recipe. I ended up finding a beer I really liked here.
The tour was fun & informative. I’d definitely recommend to anyone.

Brian O and I went on Columbus Brew Adventure’s Licking County tour and had an amazing Sunday Funday AND in the process, I found a new favorite beer!
We met at Savour Growler on Indianola to to gather in the van and take off to Granville. We all signed a quick waiver and did a quick ice break to introduce the group. Jim and his girlfriend gave our tour. Well, mostly Kim and his girlfriend took pics and had fun with the group.
We went to four different places. One pub and three breweries and it all included a scenic ride in Licking County. We started at the pub and got appetizers and tried two vastly different beers. Then we went to to a micro brewery in a private residence. Granville brewing Co. and that’s where I fell in love with their Saison! So good and their tasting room felt like a fun man cave. Great time there! Then we went to Homestead (a session brewer) with a sweet set up on an old military property.
After that, we went to Buckeye Lake Brewery and hung out there for a bit after a quick tour of their smaller set up.
A ride home was just enough time for the buzz to wear off and then we went home to cook dinner since we were starving by that point.
The van has water, mints, and coolers for your take aways. We met some great people on the tour as well and overall had a great time. I’d recommend ANY of the Brew Adventures. You can’t go wrong with touring breweries and distilleries!

Super fun to meet all the owners and brewers. Well worth it and enjoyed the experience.

Like their sister company, Columbus Food Adventures, CBA does a great job of giving you an inside look at different aspects of the local scene.
While CFA is a great way to explore Columbus’ culinary scene, CBA is a great look into the micro-​breweries and micro-​distilleries in Columbus and the region.
Being able to speak directly to the brewmasters as they describe their beers (and provide generous samples) is a really fun experience. A few of the brewers also taught us about some of the science behind brewing as well.
We were provided food from Columbus Brewing Company to start out the tour which not only provided a safe foundation for hours of imbibing, but was pretty darn delicious as well.
We then traveled to three other local micro-​breweries, each one providing a different take on the subject. We met one-​on-​one with the brewmasters at each of the subsequent stops and were able to ask questions, tour the facilities and get to know them.
All in all, it was a great experience and I really can’t wait to try some of their other tours!

Went on my first Columbus Brew tour yesterday and it was a great time. There were four stops on the tour and each one had a distinct vibe.
The first visit was to the Columbus Brewing Company. They served appetizers along with a flight of 4 beers to try. They talked about the brewery and the history of brewing in Columbus. Informative and fun. It was a good move to get food in your belly here, as the rest of the stops only served beer.
Next stop was to Barley’s over on High St. The owner personally poured and served a varied and interesting choice of beers. Each one had a great story. From the standard Scottish Ale, to their current homebrew champ. My favorite beer of the tour was Barley’s Infinity.
3^rd visit was to Seventh Son Brewing. The presentation here was all about crafting brew. Lot of technical talk. Over my head. Hey, I just like to drink the stuff. Hands on with some ingredients. Really cool place. We sampled another flight of their finest brew. I like the hops vine thing they are trying to grow over the patio. I’ll be back to check on that.
Final visit was to the North High Brewing company. They take you back into the brewing area where they had actual customers brewing their own beer. This kinda blew my mind. They have some kind of brew your own beer program where you come in and they supervise a brew using their equipment. They teach, you do. They showed us how that all works and how they brew their own house beers. We drank another flight of beers.
By this point, a whole pizza to myself was sounded pretty darn good. That was a lot of drinking for me. The tour van was really nice. I didn’t have to worry about anything, except maybe missing the van! But I’d bet they would wait for me if I was being pokey.
The whole experience was a lot of fun and everyone there seemed to be having a good time. The beer scene in Columbus seems to be exploding and Columbus Beer Adventures are on top of it.
