Captain Ds

As a chicken tender conisurer, the chicken tenders were excellent! Not too much breading that it overwhelms the chicken. I can’t say the same about the fish though. The batter was good bit couldn’t taste the fish much
The shrimp was beyond expectations. Crispy and amazing. The mac and cheese was meh. But I don’t ever expect good side at fast food chains.
Overall, I will be back for chicken!

A couple days ago, my husband went threw the drive thru at this location and ordered 2 – 3 piece fish meals. What we got was a shock to say the least. First, one of the meals were missing a piece of fish… which we are all human and make mistakes. However, the other meal was nothing short of disgusting! In the coleslaw, there was mixed into it a receipt! Yes, that is correct, someone else’s (not ours) receipt was actually mixed into our coleslaw! I immediately lost my appetite. I couldn’t believe what I had found. My husband called the area manager because we always like to give restaurants a chance to make things right. Instead we had to leave a message and have yet to receive a phone call back. I’m unfortunately NEVER going back to this location and I am very disappointed! No Stars if I could but had to put one to post.

3 stars for the attitude of this locations current general manager. She’s incredibly unfriendly and quite nosy. My mom and I were standing near the counter having a fairly quite conversation amongst ourselves and she would continuously chime in with her two cent. And she practically threw our sauces and bags at us. No hello, no goodbye, no thank you. Ugh! Anyway, the food was actually rather good. Much better fish and chicken than Long John Silver’s.

I love captain Ds but I wasn’t very impressed by this location. The cashier who looked and acted like the manager was pretty unhappy for whatever reason. She took my order. I am always very friendly with restaurant workers because I have worked in them for years. She was very monotone and it didn’t seem like she cared we were even there. I heard the cook yelling a out random things the entire I was there. Yelling at other employees. I think he was just joking but still unpleasant. We got our food pretty fast. This place was dead! !! Only 3 customers were here at 7pm. Kind of gives you an idea of the locations customer service. Any other captain ds I’ve been to is super busy. Overall my food was ok. The macaroni tasted 2 hours old. The fish was fine and so was the corn. Utensils and tray that I was given was dirty still. Wasn’t given any reason to come back! !

Oh my gosh, I found one. It’s been about 12 years since I’ve been to a Captain D’s. Still great fish for fast food!

This is so much better now than the last time I ate here.
The fish was NOT over-​battered (unlike LJS),
yet now has a super-​sized odd-​looking fish stick look.
Maybe broccoli is more expensive now.
This would explain the pittance amount I got.
The hushpuppies seemed very light and fluffy,
but maybe just a tad under-​done.
(but I prefer under-​done than over-​cooked)
I stayed home while Jim went to pick it up.
I didn’t get any tartar sauce.
But that’s obviously not the «Captain’s» fault, is it?

Just ok, sometimes orders are fast, other times takes 15 minutes to get your order from the drive through. Food quality is ok for what it is.

Captain D’s, in my opinion has better standard fish fillets. I am reviewing this location because I want people to know they are trying hard. Despite the location across from the now dangerous Eastland Mall, you’ll still find nice people working there and dinning there.
Nothing fancy, just a fast food fish place. I do enjoy there side item choices. They have a few item more than just fries & coleslaw. When is the last time you could get steamed broccoli at Burger King?
