My problem was a passenger-​side window that would roll down, but would not roll back up. As I later found out, in these situations it’s either the regular (motor) or a switch that stops working. I live near campus and my car stays parked in an open lot, so it wasn’t particularly safe and I was naturally quite worried. The first mechanic I took it to said that he would have to order a new regulator, and that it would come in the next day. I went to Campus Auto for a second opinion. They were friendly, professional, and encouraged me to ask questions. I dropped my car off and walked to the nearby Starbucks, and about 1.5 hours later, Andy called me and said that it was the switch on the driver-​side (something completely different from what the first mechanic told me), gave me a very reasonable quote, and said that he’d have the car ready in two hours. He called back exactly two hours later, saying that my car was ready. Now it’s as good as new.
To summarize: Campus Auto is meticulous and customer-​oriented, and certainly not out to make a quick buck. I’ll go to them regularly from now on.

My husband and I were in the middle of a cross-​country move when our Honda CRV broke down. We called Andy because of the great reviews on Google and we are so glad we did! The tow truck ran late so we weren’t able to get into Andy’s shop until 5:30pm (he closed at 6pm that day). Nevertheless, Andy threw the car up, took a look and gave us a VERY fair estimate for a new A/​C compressor, serpentine belt, power steering repair, and new brakes on the front. We had to stay overnight and Andy was even kind enough to drop us at our hotel on his way home. I say this not because it’s a service he normally offers, but to illustrate his kindness and character.
He started on the car first thing the next morning (a Saturday) to help us get back on the road. The shop opened up at 8am and we had the car by 11:30a. The actual charge was about $ 100 lower than the estimated cost because he spent less time on it than he thought he would — and that’s even with taking care of a few smaller problems he noticed while he was working. The car runs like a dream and we made it to our destination with no problems. Andy was friendly, sympathetic to our plight, and incredibly fair. I seriously have no idea how to thank this man for his kindness other than posting this review. If I ever find myself living in the Columbus area, I would go to Andy exclusively. I can’t recommend him enough.

I came in for an oil change and to check up on my breaks & «low coolant» light after a trip. I always dread going to auto service/​mechanic places because I feel like I am being sold something or misled.
Campus Auto is not going to provide you top notch aesthetics, but the people here were more than friendly, honest, and I didn’t once feel like I was being scared into buying a service.
Oil change, new filter, and coolant topped off. All good to go, and with a spectacular warranty on the services rendered. Stop in and check this place out for yourself. I am glad to support a family-​owned business as well as to have found a reliable & trustworthy local auto shop.

I was stranded in Columbus yesterday (FRIDAY) and all of the other shops in the area wanted $ 1000+ & wouldn’t touch my car til Monday. Campus Auto Services not only completed the job on a Friday to get me back home, but did it for less than ½ the price of others, at $ 396. They seriously saved my butt yesterday. Very honest, caring, and reliable & definitely my #1 choice of auto service in Columbus!

I came in from out of town to visit my daughter at OSU. When I arrived, she told me her car had developed a rattle in the engine compartment and I was worried that something would break on her drive back to her home in Illinois. I drove the car and confirmed that it did not sound «right.» I stopped by Campus Auto on a Tuesday afternoon not expecting anyone to be able to check out the car that late in the day. I just wanted to see if I could trust the place enough to have my daughter bring the car back another day when she could leave it with them.
I explained the symptoms to Andy the owner. Based on my explanation he said it sounded like a heat shield had worked loose and since he was waiting on some parts to finish another job he could take a look at it right away. He also said that if that was the problem, he would not charge me for the repairs. He then sent his mechanic out on a test drive, put the car up on the rack, and confirmed that was the problem. He then fixed the problem and test drove the car a second time to be sure that was it.
All told, they probably spent 20 — 30 minutes with my car. When he handed me the keys, I fully expected to be charged for the repairs so I asked what I owed them. He said I didn’t owe him anything because as he said up front, if that was the problem he would not charge me. I was pleasantly surprised. He could have charged me a few bucks and I would have still been happy with their service, and yet he did not.
Needless to say, this is the only shop in town I will let my kid take the car when it needs service.

My daughter’s Ford Escape engine blew between Dayton and Columbus and thankfully the emergency road service found Campus Auto. Andy was great from the start… he found a new (used) engine and had to do the whole replacement, which wasn’t cheap, but a fair price and very helpful since we actually live in Maryland. He even scheduled a follow up checkup and oil change here in Maryland, which he paid for, to make sure everything was okay.

I had called on a Saturday afternoon needing to get a safety check on my jeep before taking off for a last minute road trip to Florida. Matt answered and ended up meeting me at the front door and got me in right away. Two thumbs up!

These guys really helped us out of a bind – our car broke down on a road trip and we were able to get it up to Columbus, and luckily, into the hands of Campus Auto Service. The problem was a broken wheel bearing, and they repaired it quickly and efficiently for a good price – it was great to be able to get back on the highway and have the car running smoothly and quietly for the first time in awhile. If we were locals, no doubt we would be regulars here.

Fair, honest, reliable repairs — I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else in Columbus. Andy and Morgan will go out of their way to make sure the problem is fixed to your satisfaction, no matter what it takes.
