Your basic Bob Evans. Same menu and same food quality. Staff was prompt and friendly. Its hard to review a franchise location when they are so similar. Plenty of parking and its clean.

According to recent business news reports, Bob Evans says that sales are down on a «same store basis» and that sales during the dinner hour, in particular, are down. Management attributes the decline in sales to the economy and says that people just aren’t spending money to eat out. Well — if Bob Evans management really wants to know why sales are down, I suggest they visit one of their restaurants during the dinner hour — particularly on a Saturday or Sunday. They need to go in unannounced, incognito, maybe with their family, We visited the Bob Evans at Graceland Shopping Center this evening. We’ve been here before and we’ve had inconsistent but generally slow service here. But, it’s close to my mother-in-law’s and she likes Bob Evans. There were 4 of us — it was just about 6PM when we were seated and the restaurant WASNOTCROWDED — maybe 2⁄3 full. Service was incredibly slow. When our orders came out, we experienced the following: 1. my chicken fried steak w/a side of fries was barely warm. The gravy was starting to congeal and the fries were limp. 2. my wife’s salmon was warm but not hot /her side of green beans was not hot 3. my sister-in-law’s blackened fish was hot and very good /green beans were cold 4. my mother-in-law’s pot pie was piping hot and was loaded with chicken. However, chicken with some gravy was all that was in it. We found 2(yes 2) peas — no other veggies. The waitress apologized and took my wife’s dinner and my dinner, along with my sister-in-law’s green beans back to the kitchen. They apparently microwaved everything because it all came back out quickly and was piping hot — same orders/same plates — not replacement meals. And they brought my mother-in-law a dish of carrots to mix into her pot pie. The food was generally very good — once it was reheated — with the exception of the french fries. As any fry freak knows — microwaving french fires might make them hot but they surely aren’t going to be crispy. If Bob Evans management really wants to know why people aren’t spending money at Bob Evans, maybe they should try patronizing one of their own restaurants.

Every time we get carry out I find a hair in the food. It is disgusting and I am done. Third times a charm.

Over the weekend I had such a wonderful experience at this location. My dad and I came in to over carry out. The women taking our order was very nice and asked questions when she wasn’t sure about a question we asked regarding our order. She apologized for our wait and was extremely helpful! Great costumer service!

Well for starters my waitress Annie P was great. She did everything a server should do and more. My coworker and I came in on our lunch around 11am and ordered. My fried chicken sandwich was terrible. Took the first bite and it was just very chewy and tough. I’m pretty dissatisfied with the food and I wish they would bring back the old fried chicken rather than this new Broasted crap. So I told her and asked that she had a wildfire chicken salad made to go for me since I had to leave and go back to work. She did and the chicken salad had the same chicken in it! I’m very disappointed that they have changed everything to try and make it healthier or easier to make or whatever. Regardless the new Broasted chicken sucks as patties and tenders. I have had the meals with bone in chicken and they are good but the other stuff I would not recommend.

This bob Evans location is the absolute worst. I’ve been charged twice for the same order multiple times and the general manager has no clue what she’s doing. We place a carry out order online and paid for it with a credit card and the pick up time was posted for 1220pm and we didn’t receive our food until 1255pm. On top of the food taking forever to receive we had to pay again for our food at the location even though we had already confirmed payment online. Will not be going back to this location.

I have not been to a Bob Evans in over a year and really didn’t have high expectations for this visit. Used to be a great place but over the years has lost its way and doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be anymore. We came in and were promptly greeted and seated and waitress was right at our table with coffee. Bob Evans has went on menu overload and they provide you with three variations of menus. This is too much and just confusing. The booth was a bit too small and the seats of all the booths had vinyl worn to the point there were holes and cracks. Booth wall was also dirty and the carpet is overdue for replacement. This is in the middle of Columbus, which is the corporate hq for Bob Evans. Restaurant condition and cleanliness gets a C– Now the food. Food came promptly and was presented well. I ordered the farmers choice with the French toast. Food was very good and portions were generous. This part of the visit was a pleasant surprise as I had noticed food quality decline over the years. For breakfast they delivered a good product. The food gets a B+ Service had its ups and downs. Our server seemed to disappear in the middle of our visit for 10 – 15 min but other than that was adequate. Service gets a B– Bob Evans needs to get back to what it is supposed to be. Simplify the menu and concentrate on straightforward simple food that is well prepared. Clean up the stores and replace worn fixtures before customers coming in notice they are worn.

I’ve had mixed experiences at this Bob Evan’s, so I’m not sure what to think. Most importantly, the food always meets my expectations. I understand that this is a Bob Evan’s. I really like the interior. I get a kick out of the big divider on one side — reminds me of when there used to be smoking sections in restaurants in Ohio. The inconsistencies come from the staff. Some are great, others are rude, and one was downright annoying. I haven’t seen this particular server in a while, but he loudly bangs on metal counters like it’s a drumset. Repeatedly. The location is ideal if you live in Clintonville or Worthington — it’s in the Graceland shopping center.

I’ve read the other reviews and I can’t figure out what the yelling is all about. ;) This isn’t supposed to be fine dining ya know. I went over for breakfast this morning and got a nice greeting from the manager and another one from my waitress. And she brought me exactly what I ordered without my having to ask twice. My food was great and was piping hot. A great meal at a modest ptrice.

Ridiculously bad service. Waited forty-five minutes for mediocre food even though the place was almost empty.

this is a good location with friendly staff. Typical Bob Evans. I like the one up the street in Worthington better. The food is better there and they even have a new bakery and their store is nicer inside. To go is a little slow here and the place is usually packed so come prepared.

Attentive, Friendly and Cheerful is all we have ever received from the staff at this location. New menu items look delicious and we will definitely be back to try most of them. Portions seemed small until we realized we could still have dessert. Just enough to be satisfied without feeling stuffed. Was very tasty too.

Food was standard Bob Evans fare. But it took 10 minutes to first see our server, and once we got our food we never saw her again. I had to ask one of the other waitresses for boxes, and we certainly couldn’t a hold of any refills. The manager offered to take«a few bucks off the order» but was clearly annoyed that I was bothering him.

Maybe its just childhood nostalgia, but I remember when Bob Evans used to be good. The quality of their food has plummeted in recent years. These days, their whole«down on the farm» persona is a complete fabrication. If you want greasy, salty, offal squeezed out of a plastic bag onto your plate, then I guess this the place for you. Its not even a good deal! Most breakfasts are $ 8 – 9 each, not counting coffee or juice. Dinners are even more. Just in case you felt you haven’t chewed up and spit out enough of your hard-earned money for«food», there is a knick-knack shop right by register with all sorts of chintzy crap made by underpaid workers in countries with names you can’t pronounce. Their packed parking lots every weekend morning just baffle me.
