Specialties
Blazing Saddles Saloon is a new Columbus restaurant with some of the liveliest entertainment and best food in Columbus.
Saloons in America began in the early 1800’s as common space for conversation, relaxation, business, and drinking Rotgut (whiskey cut with household ingredients). A saloon’s appearance varied from when and where it grew, starting out as tents and wagons, and quickly transforming to the classic old western saloon we know today.
Today, Blazing Saddles Saloon, a new Columbus restaurant, brings that old saloon spirit to this new era. Mix that with the best food in town and you got yourself an unforgettable time!
History
Established in 2014.
In the early California Gold Rush of 1849, dance halls began to appear and spread throughout the boomtowns. While these saloons usually offered games of chance, their chief attraction was dancing.
Many saloons offered games such as, faro, poker, brag, three-card monte, and dice games which over time evolved into billiards, darts, and bowling. Some saloons even included piano players, can-can girls, and theatrical skits. And though the gaming tables and spittoons may be long gone, the saloon remains an economy-free establishment that will, no doubt, always remain a place where business people continue to make deals and people go to chase away their cares.
