Specialties
We think you will find that this is the place you’ve been looking for. Very friendly, highly capable opticians providing the best optical goods and service you will find anywhere.
We take all vision insurance. We discount for your insurance, and then, as a non-participating provider, we are able to submit for you to receive an additional reimbursement, sent directly to you. The better insurance plans offer this so that you can choose where you prefer to have your eyewear made. This way, instead of providing you with the kind of care and goods that insurance plans cause providers to use, we can carry exceptional products that WE choose, and you benefit by getting the kind of value you deserve; Great service and higher quality eyewear in a family owned, friendly atmosphere.
— Owner, Larry Haas
History
Established in 1983.
Established in 1983, Bexley Optical Boutique was founded by owner optician Larry Haas. His goal was to create an independent optical shop where the customers are treated like family. Our service and commitment to our customers is the utmost priority.
Licensed opticians Steve Ford and Larry Haas have worked together for over thirty years. They provide exceptionally competent service while creating a friendly atmosphere. Getting to know the customer by name and successfully filling their eyewear needs is how our business has succeeded. «For the most up-to-date and unique eyewear in Central Ohio, the place to SEE is Bexley Optical.»
Meet the Business Owner
Larry H.
Business Owner
Larry Haas was born and raised on the east side of Columbus, Ohio. He has been married to his wife, Leslie, for 41 years, and has three children, Marc, Brian, and Rachel. He attended Eastmoor High School, and then received a BA from the College of Humanities at The Ohio State University in 1977. Larry then went on to learn his optical skills at Ferris State University, where he received his A/S in Ophthalmic Dispensing in 1979.
Larry’s first job was working for the late Robert (Bob) Hagman, the renowned optician who owned Ohio State Optical. Bob was a true master optician, and was able to hone Larry’s skills above and beyond the skills he learned at Ferris State. After only six months, Larry was promoted to manager of their Arlington Store, where he stayed for four years, until he decided to open his own store on East Main Street, Bexley Optical Shop, in 1983. He later named and opened Arlington Optical, but, due to a bad partnership, found Bexley and just one store was best!
