SERVICE IS AWFUL. main reason my bf and I will not be coming back.
This was our second time coming here. Every time we come some game night seems to be going on, people are screaming across the room at each other and it is just way too loud overall.
We waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged. We nearly walked out… Should have…
Why is there plethoras of people and ONE waitress and ONE bartender???
I also get the vibe that regulars come here all the time, distract the staff which ultimately hinders the customer service here.
This place is completely average including the food. I would avoid it.
I’m sitting here waiting and waiting and waiting for a check… Where the f is the waitress?!

Stopped here after work one night with a couple of friends. Had a rum and coke and a glass of wine. R&C tasted a bit funny; I think the coke was actually Pepsi. $ 10 is about the average for a meal here but the portions are big, so depending on your appetite you may be able to split a plate with someone. The Joe’s burger didn’t disappoint and the fries were delicious. It does get a bit noisy on the inside during the evening but I guess that is to be expected.

Always packed in there. Which is a great sign for there success. However, it’s really loud and the food is so so. I’m more of a fan of smaller crowds and really good food. If you’re young and want to smash in there though. Then it might be for you.

Stopped going here because of the poor service and inconsistent quality of the food. One day the chef salad is excellent, the next day not so much. Wife and I both got a little sick from the boneless wings. $ 5 burgers on Wednesdays is a great deal, but the burgers are better tasting almost anywhere else. One time we went in and the place was almost empty, sat for 10 minutes and had to leave because nobody came over to even take a bar order. Sometimes it seems like the wait staff likes to socialize rather than actually tend to customers. Still a nice place and great for viewing sports on the dozens of big screen TVs.

I’ve been here quite a few times, and I gotta say I’m always very impressed with their beer selection. They constantly rotate the taps so you’re bound to find something you like. And if you do, order a ton of it cause it might not be there when you’re back haha. I can’t really speak to the food here cause I’ve never tried it, but this is definitely a chill bar to relax and catch up with friends. They have plenty of TVs too if you want to catch a game.

Was there one time. Was looking forward to a good burger. Didn’t get it. It was a double patty burger and it was VERY dry (reminded me of McD patties but not as good!) … and the French fries were also dry; like they maybe they had been prepared a long before and kept warm.
Too bad because the space is great and parking lot is spacious. Easy access to Kenny and/​Henderson.

I’ll say it again– their rating is in their name! You’d think a place would strive to be more than ‘average’, but that’s a conversation for another day. I came here last night for a Pelotonia fundraiser, and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the interior is. It’s definitely got that ‘this used to be a bookstore’ vibe, but it works. Our server was friendly, and kept our drinks refilled. Aside from her not really knowing which of the wines were the house wine, she seemed competent enough. We got the red pepper hummus appetizer and the pub pizza to share. It’s a LOT of food for two people! I really enjoyed the hummus — it had a great flavor and there was a generous assortment of pita and veggies with it. The pub pizza was pretty good, but the sausage on top was in BIG chunks that kind of made the pizza hard to eat. I like the thinner crust and the sauce was good.
Would I go out of my way to come to this bar? Nope. It was a pleasant experience, but totally AVERAGE.

If I could rate this Average Joe’s less than a one star… I would. And if you look at my previous reviews — I rarely rate any locations that I have visited a one star. I’ve also provided great tips for Average Joe’s — Hilliard.
As I write this review… I’m upset and extremely disappointed. Why? Although the food is «average» — Average Joe’s has always been my go to location for everything — festivities, football games, trivia, night out with friends, etc. I have probably brought in a good 50 – 100 friends into the place with trivia alone, but will no longer promote an establishment that I feel has «bullied» me out of my own freedom and fun. Because of one person — an AJ regular (Tom, «Bubba Jones»), I no longer feel welcomed nor am greeted by a friendly staff. My friends and I now sit for hours before being waited on and served– where we once were served by the friendliest and most upbeat servers. Two weeks ago, I asked a server why we weren’t getting any service and she apologized and told me that she was supposed to be our server, but that she was leaving. Two and a half hours later, she was still serving other tables around us. Hmmm…
For those of you who are wondering — why all of the sudden hostility… let me explain. My significant other hosts music trivia at this location every Wednesday. About three months ago, I started attending the shows and playing with friends. The show is extremely enjoyable and there are always a handful of teams that play. I personally don’t play for competition or for the prizes — I simply play for fun and quality time with friends. Heck, I can’t even answer more than 10% of the team’s questions. This is the only day that my other half and I are able to get out of the house together since we both have full time jobs and have a seven year old and seven month old to take care of. Our seven month old goes with us to trivia. That’s how much free time we have. Well… a couple of weeks ago, my team hit a winning streak (three weeks in a row to be exact). One of those weeks, I wasn’t even in attendance. Apparently, this caused Tom to assume and tell other teams and the AJ staff that we were cheating since I’m the host’s significant other. Mind you, when my team wasn’t winning — he had no problem with me playing. This 60-​something year old man is simply someone that cannot handle losing (his team apparently used to be the show’s winners every week). He started slandering AJs and I on social media websites which has been uncalled for and is extremely inappropriate and immature. I have basically been asked to no longer participate in trivia to avoid anymore controversy towards AJs after Tom’s backlash on social media.
All because of ONE person, my integrity has been questioned and I no longer am able to enjoy the one night out that I had with my significant other and friends. I’m an Army veteran that takes pride in the ethics that I live by so it saddens me that because of the way that my friends and I have been treated by the staff over the past several weeks that all of my experiences with AJs have simply been diminished.

I recently revisited this Average Joe’s after going there just after they opened; hadn’t been back since (slow service, food wasn’t to my liking, but didn’t review at the time as they were brand new). I think they’ve fixed the food now, but the service is still slow; didn’t seem like the bartender really wanted to be there. Shame, because I could go through some of their cheap drafts rather quickly, and this location really should be killing with their menu (typical American bar fare) and long wall of craft draft taps. Maybe I’ll come back again in 6 months and look for improvement.
Location is in the former Borders book store on Henderson at Kenny; more than enough parking. Have not seen it crowded in the 3 times I’ve visited. Plenty of video for sports; sound is a bit loud.

Free parking and great environment calls for 5 stars!!! I have been here multiple times and thee service is as quickly as they come even when it’s a full house. The only thing on the food menu that I have ever tried are the nachos and they were better than any other bar I’ve ever been too! The margaritas are great and they have plenty of beer tap selection or bottles! The prices seal the deal, u won’t be broke by the time u leave this place from the consumption, and they always have everyday specials from food menu items to beer. The atmosphere is also very mellow, no type of drama what so ever. Definitely would recommend this place!

Great place to watch the game, they have a large number of flat screen TV’s deployed for every viewing angle.
Mixed drinks are awful, watered down and way too much ice.
The food was just as bad, ordered a sampler platter that was uninspiring and lacked seasoning, (you would be surprised what a little Lawry’s can do) the pizza was not that much better.
Our waitress was useless, we wanted to get her opinion on her favorite dish and her answer was it depends what you are in the mood for, ??? ok… how about 1 thing that you really like, she replied with it depends what you are in the mood for.
I will give it another chance, it’s a great place to watch any game but I will play it safe and stick with fries and beer.

This place was solid and if I lived in the area I would definitely be back. (And in fact may be for football season). Both the food and drinks were reasonably priced, especially for the quality. I found the food to be above average for bar food. We had the wedge salad, which had real blue cheese on it (not the norm for a bar!), and the hummus. The pita was really tasty. The drinks seemed to be poured with a heavy hand, which I always appreciate. I had the Moscow mule and you can’t go wrong when it is served in the legit copper mug. Frankly I don’t think places should be able to include it on their menu if this isn’t the case.
Anyhow, parking was a free lot and abundant. They have a nice patio outside, but we chose to sit at the bar as we’d spent the entire day in the sun. The bar was lovely dark wood and service was prompt and friendly. All the girls they have working in there are nice to look at also. It’s not a Tilted Kilt or anything, but they are all just really attractive. TVs are plentiful with one station piped over the sound system and they were happy to change channels on TVs for a specific viewing request.

I’m in total agreement with Mike G’s review of Average Joe’s. Average Joe’s is a chain restaurant that is a bit formulaic: Big screen TVs + extensive beer draft menu + cute waitresses = potential success.
For the most part, this formula works, since their main clientele is 20 – 30 year old males. Admittedly, I too fit into this demographic. As long as there is sports on TV, a beer in my hand and the occasional pretty face to look at I am happy. Simple (and/​or sad?) but true. I wouldn’t be surprised if Average Joe’s and Lady Jane’s (who advertises beautiful hair stylists) shared the same ownership.
I’ve only tried the pizza at Average Joe’s and they are just okay. Think Donato’s pizza, with a thin crispy crust. Certainly edible, but nothing amazing. It’s about $ 15 for a 12 inch pie. There’s only one size available, but it’s big enough to feed two.
Average Joe’s is for the most part just average. It’s certainly a good venue to watch the game with a large group of friends. There are multiple TVs with plenty of seating space. However, apart from the aforementioned scenario, I don’t think I would come back.

We stopped here during our drive from Bristolville, OH to Hamilton, OH to meet up with a friend for a quick beer. It was early evening and the day after Thanksgiving, so things were pretty chill, thankfully. We ordered the potato skins, fried pickles, and mini corn dogs (because, duh, we needed more calories after the big Thanksgiving feast). The potato skins were pretty bland, but the pickles and dogs were good and I wouldn’t be opposed to stopping here again just for those. The bar is, like I said, pretty average. Nothing too crazy to mention. The bartender was trying her best to be knowledgeable about beer, but it was clear she was used to bs-​ing people and having it work because she’s cute. Which is a valuable trait as a bartender, I guess, so I’m not mad.

Great place to watch your favorite sports team! I requested to watch the Blackhawks and our server changed the tv closest to us. I’m used to places refusing to change the tvs, so that was refreshing.
The beer selection was more extensive than I imagined and the service was pretty quick. I decided on the buffalo chicken sandwich and was glad I did. The chicken was juicy and had just enough kick. The bleu cheese was just enough to not overpower it. My friend ordered the pub burger and he said it was one of the best burgers he’s ever had.
Good stuff! I’ll have to come back.

Wanna hear a joke? Two 23 year olds walk into a bar on a Friday night. And then promptly walk out.
I am entirely confused by this establishment. We walked in and the music (Katy Perry’s Dark Horse…) was SO loud that we could barely hear each other. The people there were not much quieter, practically yelling at one another. A few people appeared to be visibly and extremely intoxicated.
There was no hostess to be found. All of the tables were completely packed. The targeted demographic appears to be those between 40 and 60 years old, except for the waitresses, who are clearly college-​aged girls.
We looked at a menu that was laying around and weren’t impressed. Wandering around awkwardly trying to find an empty table and eating typical bar food while you’re rendered completely unable to communicate with who you’re with seems like a waste of a Friday night.
Not our scene. It appears to be busy on every night of the week. The parking lot is always packed. Clearly this place appeals to lots of people, but I am not one of them.

This is my second review of an Average Joe’s-first was Hilliard. I didn’t have food last night but wanted a pint after dinner before heading home. What surprised me was how many they had on draft-​roughly 50! Hilliard only has 24. The server said that the soon-​to-​open Powell location will have even more. They also have Frostop Root Beer on draft, which is made in Ohio.
Prices seemed a little high; hate how they’re not priced on the menu. My Sam Adams Rebel IPA draft was $ 6.75, which you can get at World of Beer for $ 5; Ranger IPA draft was $ 6. I tried getting two other not-​so-​known IPAs but they were out-​always frustrating. Waitress was friendly and attentive but didn’t know about anything on the list. Meaning, when I ordered something I had to literally point at it. Granted, it’s a long list but…
All-​in-​all it’s the best place for a craft pint in the area. A lot of TVs like Hilliard so if you’re looking for Ohio State games (or the Winter Games) grab a stool and point at your favorite draft with crossed fingers.

Average Joe’s is a nice place to chill on a random weeknight. FOR INSTANCE, Tuesday nights are $ 2.25 Yuengling 16oz. Not too shabby if I say so myself (and I’m not a Huuuuuge Yuengling fan).
It’s sizable place with good amounts of parking and a friendly wait staff. As far as food goes, I’ve only had their Hawaiian Pizza, and I thought it was pretty awesome.
I’m slowly becoming a regular Tuesday nighter. I’d say if you’re in the area and would like a cold one and see a friendly face, then this would be a good place to swing by.

This is a Unilocal quick-​hitter. Average Joe’s Pub & Grill is newly situated on the corners of Kenny and Henderson. It’s sharing the corner with a fitness/​boxing club; you might remember (local knowledge) there was a bookstore once there.
AJP&G’s is a good location. Parking seems a little challenged for as roomy as the new place offers. Inside it’s very nice and new with lots of warming wood-​looks and seating variety. High tops, booths, tables and a bar with seating for about 16 patrons. All good here too.
My seat? The bar and the b’tender poured me a diet cola. I looked and listened. Seemed there were plenty of diversified beer selections (over 40 did I hear?) and those at the bar had all sorts of shades going in their beer glasses. A large overhead row of HDTVs were nice and more were scattered about overhead for table patrons. Good again.
I had the veggie 12″ pizza. Fantastic — no; more than adequate — yes. Crispy crust and some good sized veggies including banana peppers which are a fav of mine. The menu was 6 pages of apps, burgers, pizza, sandwiches and soupy/​salads combos. Standard offerings for a pub & grill. You’re on your own for awhile.
Everything is new. The place is squeaky clean. The beer-​tender was prompt with service. Wait staff (cheap call here) — good looking. What? Go on, pay a visit!!!
