I have been in and around the business for over 20 years. I was trained by Taliah Waajid from 1991 – 1994. I now specialize in natural hair care, braids, weaves, locs and hair extensions.

I called to make an appointment and the lady that answered the phone was really nice and professional. and she did not mind that I was calling at 0600 (i planned to leave a message). She was able to get me in the next day. I was excited… but after my appointment I realized my search for a new salon was to continue. (Pics of two strand twists and flat twists attached) Please keep in mind they had NOTHING to do with my color or the health of my hair. First visit and I wanted flat twists and two strand twists. and ended up with something I could have done at home (and I can’t flat twist) if I could give no stars I would.

I moved to Columbia about 2 weeks ago, and was searching for a salon. I came across The Salon’s reviews on Unilocal,and they were great! So, I called Leslie to schedule a consultation and she fit me in the very next day! From the moment I walked into the salon I felt comfortable, at home, and knew I was in a professional atmosphere. Leslie was the exact same: warm, welcoming, very knowledgeable, and above all professional! I knew this was my salon home! You should make it yours too!

I got my hair braided here not too long ago. I felt she did a good job. I had box braids done before for much less. I felt it was overpriced. Even another person that worked there was surprised by the price she charged me.

I’d been looking around for a place to get box braids before studying abroad since the salon I usually went to moved to NC. The Salon had good reviews and was close by so I gave it a try. All the stylists were nice, patient, and accommodating when I needed to relax for a bit because of a medical issue.
Almost two months later, and my braids are still in good condition and I get compliments on how beautiful they are almost every day. So I definitely recommend The Salon!

True professionals! This is the first in a long time that I’ve experience a Salon with amazing beauticians and a professional atmosphere. When I called the owner Leslie said she would call me back to confirm my appointment and sure enough she did. She booked me an appointment with Obie and she even provided me with her phone number if I had any additional questions. Once I arrive Obie and Leslie welcomed me to the salon and Obie did a short consultation about how I wear my hair and the products I use. Obie was extremely nice and she works fast. All in all I left the salon happy with my services and I enjoyed my experience at The Salon. I will surely be a returning customer!

I had an A*MAZ*ING experience at this salon! The owner, Leslie, made me feel very welcomed and my stylist, Yolanda, was very knowledgable and experienced. I LOVE my hair (Senegalese twist) and I will definitely be returning and recommending this salon to others!
