Rio’s Pizza & Bagels

I usually don’t do bad reviews, but the front desk staff here seemed upset that our order required them to work. They were much more interested in talking with their friends who had stopped by for a visit. The pizza dripped with grease on paper thin crust with cheap tasting ingredients.
For the price, walk the extra block to Village Idiot, which is a reputable business with a time tested quality product. Rios seems content to make a quick buck on drunken college students before summer comes back around, the students go home, and the lack of customers puts them out of business.

Took almost 20 min to make a bagel… And they got my order completely wrong. Not even busy.

Awesome sandwiches! I tried the Spur (similar to a philly). Awesome steak, cheese and red peppers. The pizza is good too (huge pieces). Great atmosphere, great food, friendly service. Definitely coming back here soon.

This place is okay. I like the fact that they open at 10 am because who doesn’t love pizza for breakfast. I also really like the options of ordering a pizza, a bagel, or a pizza bagel! I also know they have mimosa towers which is awesome, but I haven’t had one yet. Their prices are fair and they’re open late which is a plus. I personally think their pizza bagel is better than the pizza, but that might just be me.

I went there with some family members and all of us enjoyed the food and service. Friendly staff, good food at an affordable price, also in a convenient location close to many shops.

This place is horrible! Basic food, hardly any selections… it’ll shut down in less than a year. We went for Sunday brunch when it SHOULD be packed (like most places) and at 12p we were the only
Ones there! Service sucks and they don’t even speak or check up on you. Don’t even tip there if you go!

I stopped by here to grab a slice after getting a haircut. As a New Haven import I’m very critical of pizza and this place brought me back a little bit. It’s not a «nice» place, it’s sort of dumpy but not in a disgusting way. I got two slices of plain cheese for a little less than 5 bucks and it was about the same quality as the 99 cent slices of New York City.
The crust is thin and crunchy — represent New Haven Style — but it all was sort of bland. We should all note that bland is better than obviously canned sauce on obviously frozen dough. It wasn’t bad but I thought at least a few times that it was missing something — then I realized they don’t have Parmesan saw dust or red pepper flakes at the table. I settled for the salt and pepper at the table and that made a big difference. If this place unleashes the pepper, garlic and onion when prepping it could be dangerous!
Note that the slices are GIANT and very worth the price!

This place is mediocre, at best. Their claim to fame are the $ 10 mimosa towers. They’re cheap and get the job done, but the food is meh. My first experience here was okay in the beginning, then my boyfriend went to play a song on the jukebox. He decided on «Sweet Caroline» with the table of girls next to the jukebox was literally clapping in excitement. Then some jerk with a man bun working here continually changed the volume so he was unable to even put money in. Said «you wouldn’t want to change one of the greatest hits of the 80s.» Made my boyfriend sit down and wait for the crappy song to end then play his selection. The customer service is pure BS, with the exception of the employee who brought a tower to our table and got us a stack of napkins to fix the shaky table we chose.
