The Mattress Organic specializes in… organic latex foam mattresses.

Our organic mattress showroom is scent-​free and hypoallergenic with a first-​class air filtration system. It is simply furnished using best-​practice dust mite reduction techniques. Bed frames are made in Maine from natural wood with a low VOC finish.

We have a knowledgeable staff who have been successfully sleeping on our organic latex mattresses for years. These dedicated and well-​rested individuals are available for appointments at YOUR convenience. Daytime, evening, weekend, holidays, with childcare, with special attention to extra needs such as food or contact allergies… these are just some of the ways which we can customize our showroom.

History

Established in 2006.

Parent company, Rhintek Incorporated, has been incorporated since 1977 as a high tech/​engineering company. Since that time there have been many diverse projects. Some of these projects were directed to a specific client, while others became the basis of a continuing product line for Rhintek.

This project started in 2006 when a senior engineer needed a new mattress and started investigating the engineering behind the ideal mattress. After thorough research, organic latex foam mattresses were the winner. With no local showrooms available at that time, Rhintek turned an office into a showroom and began contacting manufacturers for samples.

We have focused our efforts on the Savvy Rest line, because they are certified, empoyee-​owned, and their foam products are standardized such that we are comfortable knowing that the mattress tried in the showroom will be the same as the mattress sent to your home.

Meet the Business Owner

Rainer M.

Business Owner

Rainer graduated from Caltech in 1965 with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked at Westinghouse and for the US Army doing mostly night vision and radar technology innovations. In the mid 70s, he left general industry to help found Rhintek Incorporated.

In mid-​2000, Rainer decided he wanted to get the best mattress possible and began researching alternatives. He discovered organic latex foam mattresses and turned a Rhintek office into a showroom so he could share his discovery with others.
