Lynn’s Day Spa

I felt the need to post a review after being treated unprofessionally there.
The front desk staff was quite rude to me, after scheduling me with someone else. When I said I was not told about the change, she said she «made it clear to me on the phone and I still have to pay.» Complained to manager later and was told they can pull the recorded phone call to see if I was told. Not sure calling your customers liars is the way to improve service.
Bottom line, Lynn’s could learn a thing to two from one of their neighboring businesses, Nordstroms.

Some people complain about this spot. They state that it’s not very upscale. However with the pricing what do you really expect. This place is priced very well. And if you use cash it’s often even less expensive. It is not the most up scale place I will admit however I come for massage not to hang out in the waiting room. I have gone many many times throughout the years. And it took a little bit of time but I finally found my go to masseuse. Her name is Lena.
She is amazing. Seriously! I love her. She makes nurse feel like new after a 12 hour shift. She uses just the right pressure and have excellent techniques. She’s also a lovely woman to just chat with during the massage. I really could go on and on about her. But take my advice and visit her yourself.

The facials here are actually amazing. So, why one star? Because I had a full body massage, and kept hearing buttons being pushed. After about TWENTY (yes, I waited 20) minutes, I asked the masseuse if she was texting. I hear a thump, and I realize she’s dropped her phone to try to hide it. When I try to leave, the people at the front refuse to let me talk to the manager/​someone higher up. After I finally manage to twist their arm into calling someone, the lady I spoke with didn’t seem to care that this happened, and offered a generous «you don’t have to pay for the massage» — well, no kidding, I wasn’t planning on it.
Sorry, any spa that not only favors their employees but also finds a way to not seem to care about customer retention is not a spa worth your time.

I called to inform them I was running 10 minutes late to my appointment, they offered to reschedule me later that day, which I was going to accept but to my shocking surprise they insisted that I pay the first appointment in full prior to rescheduled the new appointment. After being pressured I ended up paying them $ 20.00 for what ended up being a missed appointment, they stated that was company policy. Their is no sign? My husband, 2 daughters and I will no longer be patronizing Lynn Day Spa. We were loyal customers for years! Terrible break up, I’m extremely hurt and disappointed…

The customer service here isn’t the best considering most of the receptionist are teenagers. However, whenever I’m in need of a massage, I come here for Jennifer only! She is by far the best and always have available appointments. Just booked her for tomorrow!

Nice service with friendly staff.

Been here several times along with the wife. Love the quiet atmosphere. The lounge area is nice and peaceful, clean. They have great people here. I highly recommend you come here. Price is nice.

How this place ever got a good review I don’t know. I felt so disappointed I went with two friends and they both felt the same way I wished I didn’t have to pay for any of the services cause they were all very poorly done. Boo to this place if I could give it a negative Star I would.

Awful. I’ve gotten a number of massages and used to frequent Lynns regularly. Usually you feel relaxed after a massage but I felt AWFUL after mine.
I came in with no pain whatsoever and left with a headache and a sore arm. I will never go back.
It was if the masseuse was trying to hurt you rather than trying to relax you. it wasn’t even a deep tissue massage!

I got a body wrap here and I have to say, it was not what I expected. My technician was great — super professional and informative. My issue was that it was not a wrap in the basic sense that you are wrapped with herbal bandages. You are more just covered in a lotion and have a warm blanket-​y thing on you and lay there. I am not saying it didn’t work, but gallons of water later and there were little to no results. For the $ 90 I spent, I think I would have been better off with a wrap that had the ace bandages. Not bad if you know what you are getting, but I doubt I’ll be back. There are too many other spas that offer the wrap with the technique I actually want.

Let me preface this with the fact that I am sorry I have never written a review earlier with all of my wonderful thoughts about my experiences at Lynn’s Day Spa.
First — I have been going to Lynn’s for over a decade to get waxed — bikini and eyebrow regularly (but I’ve also gotten arms, legs and underarm). I have pretty sensitive skin so the wax is great — better quality or organic I believe. However, the best part of the experience is Leah. I NEVER go to anyone else. She is the best! She is friendly, quick, efficient and best of all — she is a perfectionist. When you spend all this money, time and (let’s be honest) pain on getting rid of your hair, you want it done right. Leah has been doing my waxing since I was a teenager and I’m now 31. Won’t go to anyone else! (No matter how many times the receptionist offers it.)
Second — I have gotten massages (from multiple people) and facials (from Leah and others) and they’ve all been excellent.
Finally — Unfortunately, I had my first bad experience at Lynn’s last week. I figured a place that does all of these other things so well has to do nails fine also. Wrong. She did a decent job on my toes — nothing amazing or anything. But she did not check to see if I had shellac or gel on my nails (which I did), even though I tried to point that out AND I put polish on one of my nails to test it and she took the polish off (you’d think a professional would notice my nails had shellac on them). So I had to wait while the polish soaked off instead of having done that while getting my pedicure. Then I wasn’t happy with the color because I was trying to match something and it looked different on my nail than on the color wheel. But she kept insisting: «you chose that! You chose that!» Which I did but I didn’t need to be reprimanded. She did not ask if I liked my nails square or round and by the time I looked down and saw they were all square, I really didn’t have time to change it (was late for work). Today has been 1 week since my mani/​pedi and shellac is supposed to be guaranteed anti-​chip for 2 – 3. Multiple nails have chipped at this point. Lastly, I saw her put the cuticle cutter and pusher and nail clipper in the sink, rinse them with WATER ONLY and then put them back on the counter to re-​use. I will NEVER return for another nail appointment there. Plus — they charge you to soak off your shellac. I paid $ 85 for this not-​so-​great mani/​pedi and I pay $ 70 at my usual place and get much better service and quality!!!
All in all: 5 stars on waxing
5 stars on massages/​facials
1 star on nails
Total: 3.6 so I’ll round up and give a 4.

I have gone to Lynn and few time because it was close to my home. I have never been happy with the front desk service they are young and not to professional at all. I have only gotten wax there; again due to the close location to my house. This «Spa» is dark and drab and not very spa like at all. I guess I am a spa snob because if I am going to pay prices that are the same as a more upscale spa why waste my time going here. I had a bad experience a few months back and will not return or recommend this «Spa» (and I use that term very losely) to anyone ever again.

I used to go to Lynn’s at their old location, but hadn’t been back in a while. I was skeptical based on some of the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised! Although you have to walk through some construction, the interior of the spa was relaxing and nice. I had a massage, facial and mani/​pedi. Each person was professional and accommodating. Mara was a great masseuse! I enjoyed it so much, I booked a Father’s Day massage and facial for my husband.

Add me to the list of dissatisfied customers. My husband purchased me a gift certificate here a couple of years back for a massage, facial and pedicure. I was completely underwhelmed. He seemed to forget that, and got me another one a few weeks ago (this time for a scrub, massage and facial).
My first visit wasn’t great, but I’ll write more about the second since it was so recent. My husband this time bought me a certificate for a scrub, hot stone massage and facial.
Upon getting there, the inside did look better than the last time. I was taken back to get the scrub, and this was the highlight of my day. The room had a shower in it, and after the technician scrubbed me down, I got wrapped up and left to relax, which I did.
After that, I was taken to a waiting room where I sat for about 15 minutes. My masseuse, a man, came over to tell me he was sorry, but that he didn’t realize it was a hot stone massage so I had to keep waiting until he heated them up. Now, besides the fact that I had to sit and wait longer for something that should have been taken care of prior, I was not thrilled with a male masseuse. I have had massages done at other salons, and I’ve always been asked if I am okay with a male if there was one on staff. Lynn’s did no such thing.
Once I was in the room, my masseuse applied way too much pressure, and several times commented (without prompting) that he «hated hot stone massages» because they messed up his flow. Um, sorry?
I guess he had run over the time, from not having the stones hot in the beginning, and so before he had finished my whole body massage, he abruptly stopped and said «Oops, I lost track of time. You’re done». That was it, my massage literally ended just like that.
My facial was, meh. Again, I’ve had facials before, and my technician rushed through it. I had a feeling I was her last client, and sure enough, as soon as she was done, she put on her coat and rushed out. I didn’t even get a chance to tip her, thank her, etc.
Is Lynn’s horrible? No. But for the money they charge, it is certainly not up to par.

I went there strictly to get facials because of the need. Place is not welcoming nor attractive at all but the neighborhood is safe and staffs are fine. There are not many choices in this area so I’ll end up going there again.

Save your money and time and find a better spa. I would never come back here again.
Like some others have said I found it very noisy and dingy for a spa. You pay money to go to a spa to relax and it’s hard to do that when it’s not quiet and you’re grossed out.

I came here for a Brazilian Wax because the website advertised $ 63. It was cheaper than Pearl Spa so why not. I’d much rather pay $ 85 at Pearl to actually feels like I’m in a spa. Lynn’s location sucks and everything inside was outdated. Didn’t feel like a spa at all. My wax experience was fine, but if i’m going to a spa I want to feel like I’m in a spa. Somehow, my total came to $ 88, I should have just went to Pearl. It was very loud and there were men doing construction in the hallway, this isn’t a real spa.

We had an appointment on a day when a winter weather advisory was put in place. We called to cancel the appointment because of the potentially unsafe conditions. We were told we would be charged a cancellation fee!!! I was in shock!
My wife called and was told it was simply heir policy! I was livid and called back to discuss how unreasonable the policy was when there is a winter weather advisory in place!!!
After discussing for several minutes the manager eventually relented and decided to remove the fee so this turned out the way common sense should but with this type of customer service I will never return here.

Customers talk loudly across the room to each other, so the nail area is not relaxing. I have been 3 times for a pedicure and neither time has been enjoyable.

I went here just a day ago for a men’s facial, manicure, and pedicure.
Making the appointment was easy. The receptionist over the phone was polite and they took my information without any challenges.
The location is on the first floor of a building across from Howard County Community College. Parking is abundant and the area is safe.
The spa itself is clean and there is a waiting room that is quiet, dimly lit with snacks and water. It isn’t the most modern of places, but it is sufficient.
As far as the facial went, mine was done by Sharon and she did an above average job. I would recommend her for new customers as she is experienced, calm, and knows what she is doing.
The manicure and pedicure were average at best. The service was the same at any cheap nail salon in the area and the technicians were simply rushing people out the door. If you are looking for nail services, I would look elsewhere.
It is important to note also, that there are different prices for cash and credit — and the difference is more than a few dollars.

Atmosphere and the massage were so relaxing. Light refreshments in the cozy waiting area. Would definitely return if we’re ever in the area again. Thanks Kate and Lena!

Love it ! Back in 2005, I was given a Birthday Present to Lynn’s Day Spa and I received nothing but the ROYAL TREATMENT from the moment I walked in the door and to the time i left. Forward to 2013 and Im a loyal client to this day. I normally go 2 – 3 a month for my normal Mani & Pedi and my once a month wrap/​hot stone therapy and Ive received nothing but the utmost of great service. However, with the exception of the «quiet room» the spa itself could use a little interior upgrade. Im a male so i love the intimate & relaxing setting but the flowers and choice of colors is a little out dated for my taste besides that, no complaints its been a wonderful experience… XoXo

So far have gotten a massage and a facial here. Extremely happy with the massage and facial I have received. Also had ear candling done a while ago, was pretty happy with that as well. The staff is friendly! Tucked away in an office building and the atmosphere is quiet and really relaxing.

A few weeks ago I was delighted with the Red Door Spa in Atlantic City (see review) and like crack cocaine or an A class drug Spa treatments just make you want more!
I called Lynn’s in the morning with the idea of using the coupon they sent me via email — (sign up for specials) for a facial and amazingly they had a vacancy that day! So, I take quick shower & a run across town to the new location in an office building across from HCC, get greeted and sit in the Quiet Room.
Every spa has a quiet room and I judge how nice the spa is by the quiet room. This room was well… not so quiet. A little shabby — more like a darker Dr. s office and there were three kids there with 2 moms talking VERY LOUD (even though a sign said this was a whisper area) Fail. It’s smart to use the ladies room before any spa treatment… who wants to suffer through an hour needing to go or interrupting a session, right? The ladies room for Lynn’s Day spa is in the office complex hallway. Dirty and pedestrian. Totally broke the mood.
In the treatment room the view from the table whilst on my back was stained ceiling tiles, sloppy purple trim paint and ugly window treatments.
BUT…the facial i got was lovely. So. if you’re a spa snob and only care about the service and not the whole experience & ambiance then I would go to Lynn’s. That’s why I took off 2 stars.
