Specialties
Learning Express Toys at the Village of Sandhill is Columbia’s newest toy store, offering the most unique products, games, educational items and specialty gifts available. We believe toys and games should encourage learning through play, enhance creativity and foster the developmental growth of children. We offer a wide selection not available at larger retailers including: puzzles, developmental toys, arts and crafts kits, science and nature products, construction toys, books, infant and toddler gifts, dolls and plush.
We take great pride in calling ourselves a «Neighborhood Toy Store» because we are just that — a hub of activity, a meeting spot for friends and neighbors and their children, a place where we get to know you by name and where going the extra mile for you is our privilege and our pleasure. You’ll love the learning and development value of toys we carry for children of all ages.
All of our VIP customers enjoy complimentary gift wrap & complimentary personalization.
History
Established in 2008.
In 1987, the first Learning Express was founded at the Groton Community School, a private nursery school in MA, as a fundraiser to avoid increasing tuition. Since that time, more than 140 locations have opened across the US — each individually owned and operated. Learning Express offers unique toys not found at larger retailers and strives to become an integral part of the community. Customers will find a shopping experience and customer service that is available only at Learning Express.
John Hutto, a South Carolina native and Gamecock graduate, opened Learning Express of Columbia in November of 2008. The neighborhood toy store is located at Columbia’s Village at Sandhill in Northeast Columbia on the corner of Two Notch and Clemson Roads.
