Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbia Univ Area – Hwy 63

When my sister and I realized we wouldn’t be making it St. Louis on our road trip, we called around for hotels in Columbia right outside, and found this Holiday Inn Express to be within our budget. Parking and check-​in was easy peasy though just a heads-​up this location is not über-​close to the highway as we had initially though. I believe we arrived 10 minutes to 10, and bummed that the pool was closing.
Our room was nice, spacious and clean with a ginormous chaise lounge just in case you’ve got a three’s company situation and not looking for a snuggle fest. The bed was very comfy, and we passed out fairly quickly.
The room and service from housekeeping to front desk was definitely ⁴⁄₅ star quality, but the complimentary breakfast was pretty meh. The seating area is less cafeteria and more lounge-​y. Styrofoam plates, hard bread items, and no bacon wasn’t the best way to start another day of driving.
I would say if you’re needing to stay in this area, the hotel is great and staff was nice, but maybe skip the breakfast.

Great breakfast very yummy cinammon rolls! Staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were super clean. The only thing I didn’t care was a super firm bed but that’s just personal preference more than anything.

Stayed here for Show-​Me games. It is fairly new, great location if you need to be near Cosmo Park. Many eating area nearby within walking distance and is very close to downtown Columbia.
So far, service has been good. The rooms are very clean and I even heard music when I got off elevators. They have a gym area with ample amount of equipment for you to use to get some sort of fitness done to your daily regimen. Breakfast is complimentary and they have a good selection. There is also a nice pool area, which was clean as well (even while having a lot of kids and adults in there, lol). The only thing the BF was concerned about was that the pillows are way too soft, although the cases say” firm”. I just think that something got mixed up in laundry, lol.
Again, the area is very new, very clean and offers choices. I will be back…(in my Terminator voice).
