This place is awesome for any college student. There food is very good for the small price that they charged and is fairly quick to come out. They have a wide variety of selections for any type of pallet. The people that work there are really trying to make good food for everyone, if you are looking for a good bite to eat and need to eat something quick I would highly recommend this place. Happy Eating!

As much as I love Hibachi House lately I’ve seen some food safety issues that have been troubling. Gloves are a rare sight in this place, it seems. They are always short staffed and the cashier/hostess has been ladling rice and vegetables sans gloves, not to mention their backup chef. Today I came with a friend and after what we saw, we left. My friend asked if she could have only certain vegetables with her entrée, and they were willing to find her those specific vegetables, which was nice! Unfortunately, the backup chef started rifling through the tub of chopped vegetables with his bare hands. He stopped to scratch his face with his fingernails, and then stuck his hands back in the tub. Nobody in sight was wearing gloves. I know that the food quality is average and it’s cheap, but proper food handling is regulated for a reason. I hope they change things soon, because I really love the location and have enjoyed the food in the past, but I can’t eat my food happily if proper food safety protocol is not followed.

I have tried this place twice. The first time I got hibachi chicken. Decent considering the quality. The wait time, about 20 minutes, seemed excessive considering it’s a to-go-oriented place and I was only one of a couple of other people in there. Because they have this market cornered(fast food Asian) in this area, I decided to give it another try. And now I want my money back. I got the teriyaki chicken, and it was inedible. I’ll admit I do not have low standards for chicken, however I don’t expect fast food of this nature to be gourmet either. But, I do expect chicken to actually be chicken. This was all fat. Seriously, I found 2 chunks out of at least 10 that were actually chicken(and they were still greasy dark meat and still ~30% fat per chunk). So I did not eat my chicken. The vegetables and rice were good, however I did not intend to pay $ 8 for vegetables and rice. And, it took 20 minutes to get my food. I almost wouldn’t have minded had the server seemed at all concerned about getting customers there food. But she didn’t, and it seemed like the same thing last time. I saw lots of customers’ food sit on the counter in the kitchen while she hung out in the back. The chef was awesome though, very efficient and quick. The main point however is that even though this place is pretty cheap, the chicken + long wait + general invalidation of my existence by the staff make it not worth $ 8. Oh AND, it’s especially not worth $ 8 when you consider that you can pay $ 8 at MCafe or MVista and get much much better food for their lunch special! And that’s what I’ll do next time. I would have given this 2 stars, but like another reviewer, I suspect his place is posting employee-provided reviews to up their average ratings, or something like that, and I would like to balance that out.

Where do I begin? For starters, I’m convinced that the other(higher rated) reviews MUST be employees or… people with very, very little experience with Asian cuisine. We ordered several items for lunch: soft shell crab(… «appetizer» …), cheese angels(fried cheese wonton), spicy crab roll, and the«chicken bowl». The total was just under $ 20 and I ended up feeling like this restaurant stole $ 15 from me. The two items that came out first – the chicken bowl and the fried cheese wonton. Let me say something really quick – AVOIDGETTINGTHECHEESEWONTONATALLCOSTS. You get three of them, but there is literally zero taste. I am not exaggerating. There is more flavor if I were to pour peanut oil over a paper plate and I just lick and bite the plate. I should’ve just done that instead. The chicken bowl is extremely disappointing. Maybe if it was $ 3 or $ 4 max, but for the price… Major rip-off. Nothing was wrong with the rice, but the chicken was notably dry.(The more I think about it… I probably should’ve just brought my own bottle of peanut oil to drizzle over my wontons and chicken bowl.) Any generic food court in the mall serves much, much better«chicken bowl» entrees. The soft shell crab was just… embarrassing. It had a crab taste for sure, but I could tell immediately that it wasn’t fresh. And the last item brought out to us was the spicy crab roll. Unfortunately, this was the«best» item we ordered and that’s not saying much. It wasn’t at all spicy and the consistency was unusual compared to other restaurants. Unfortunately, this place has a great location – but the high price and mediocre quality(ATBEST) will eventually be its downfall. I hope people seriously read this before stepping into Hibachi House.

I’ve only been here twice, but I think I get the gist. The first time visiting here, I chose the Teriyaki Chicken entrée and it was decent. About the same as any other place like this. It was also a decent price. I had no major complaints. I’m sure the rest of the entrees would be similar. The second time I went I got the Bento Box, which is what they seem to promote the most, and I was sorely disappointed. There was literally nothing special about this meal. Everything was pretty bland was probably something I could have picked up at Publix. Actually, Publix probably makes better California Rolls. The same goes for the Spring Roll. And the box was just a sectioned plastic tray like the sectioned microwavable meals you can get from any grocery store. If you want some cheap, run-of the-mill Japanese food, this place is fine, just don’t bother with the Bento Box. You will feel a little cheated. I am giving this place 3 stars rather than 2 stars because it is a nice seating space and the service is good.

Loved this place! Ordered at the counter and our food was brought to the table by a server. The bathroom was very nice and clean(always a good sign.) The food is prepared in view of the customers and is hot and fresh. I had the Terriyaki chicken with brown rice, veggies and a bowl of Miso soup. Very generous portions. The atmosphere is casual but chic. Great place for good food when you just have time for a quick lunch. Prices were very reasonable for city food.

Would have gotten 5 stars if I could have subbed the sushi roll in the Bento Box. Besides that, it is a nice place with good food and friendly staff. Also very clean and bright.
