Double Trouble Donuts

The girl selling them was friendly, but the donuts were the worst I’ve EVER had. I am a doughnut coniousseuer and I was so disappointed. They are extremely heavy, dense, and bready. Everything a donut shouldn’t be! This company seems to think that as long as it’s got cute sprinkles and a hole in the middle, it’s a doughnut. No. These were neither cake nor yeast doughnuts. The best way I can describe the texture is that it was akin to a dry muffin or roll. Absolutely disgusting. The glaze had a pleasant flavor, but all the sugar in the world can’t make up for a texture this bad.

Flew to Columbia to visit little sister and we went to soda city market where I was able to try double trouble dough. I’m not sure how but these two cuties have perfected doughnuts. I have been eager to get back for more. love it!

Whenever I go to the Soda City market, I always go here first. The donuts are simple and very yummy. Be sure to go there early as they are very popular at the market and some flavors will sell out.

I think these are 5-​star doughnuts, but my husband isn’t quite as enthusiastic as I am, so I’m not sure I can say they are the «best thing ever” – it’s all a matter of preference, and everyone seems to be very opinionated when it comes to doughnuts. If you DO like these doughnuts, you will wake up thinking about them every Saturday morning – they’ll get you out of bed and to the Soda City Market, no matter how tired or hungover you are. I’m a big fan of their funkier flavors… anything with lemon or lavender or rose; I also love their orange blossom doughnuts when they have them. Regardless of your opinions, I think everyone can agree that these are quality confections made with care. Oh, and the sisters that sell them are always incredibly friendly and colorful.

These doughnuts are delicious and I think they keep getting better or they have their hooks in me pretty hard. During Soda City my wife always grabs a few to take home to enjoy later. But lately I have been seeing these ladies selling the good stuff on Main Street by the Sheraton during the week. Today I had a coffee doughnut w chocolate sprinkles or vice versa who cares, they were amazing. Every flavor I’ve tried has put me in my happy zone ! If you don’t try these wonderful doughnuts and you like doughnuts you may be missing out or just an idiot who doesn’t love soft sugary goodness.

Loved discovering doughnuts outside of Columbia Marriott today! Light, fluffy fried doughnuts with sugar glaze. I tried the lemon lavender and the strawberry shortcake. The flavor doesn’t slap you in the face… More delicate and enjoyable. The crunchy bits on top of the Strawberry were pops of tart to the sweet glazed doughnut. Would def hunt this place down again!
