I am a Curly Hair stylist. My goal is to make your natural curls as beautiful as possible, and teach you to maintain those curls. I have been a DevaCurl educator, and am a member Of Curly Hair Artistry, an elite group of curly hair stylists all over the world. We’re all about the curls, not a specific product line.

History

Established in 2015.

Being a curly girl myself, I wanted to learn how to help curly girls not just stop fighting their curls, but truly learn to love them. The more I learned about curly girls I loved seeing them really bloom as they saw the beauty of their own curls. This lead me to open my own space just for curly girls.

I have been a hairdresser for twenty five years. This is my second career. My first was a pre school teacher and a music educator. Education has always been a focus for me, and underlies my work now with curly girls. It’s great if you leave me loving your curls, but the best is when you can recreate them yourselves. Thats why so much of what I do is educating my client.

I went to Diane after researching many potential Deva-​trained stylists in the Baltimore area. Having hid my curls for over 20 years, it was time for me to figure out how to release them. Diane was wonderful! She repeatedly asked my preferences regarding style, carefully explained what she was doing, and wrote down the steps I needed to follow to recreate what she did with my hair. It has now been 3 months and I’m thoroughly enjoying my curls. I’ve received many compliments and have been singing Diane’s praises to other curly-​haired girls. I look forward to returning and learning more about how to care for my hair.

Diane is the best! I have gotten numerous curly cuts by other Deva stylists, but was always disappointed in the final product. That has never happened with Diane. You can tell that she really loves what she’s doing and that she takes a lot of pride in her work. She never tries to push products on you and always seems to know exactly what my curls need. I would have no hesitation recommending her to curlies near and far.

Diane is great and very knowledgeable about curls :) She taught me how to put product in my hair and made recommendations for my hair type. I love my hair cut and am able to wear it down a lot more now! I came to her with suggestions for really frizzy hair and now I am able to have beautiful frizz free hair and beautiful second day curls. I would recommend her for anyone who wants a really nice hair cut and for anyone who needs help with how to work with curly hair.

If you have curls, this is your place. Diane is incredible. This was absolutely one of, if not the best haircuts and overall stylist experiences I’ve ever had. She is so passionate and knowledgable, and provides a truly in-​depth experience, which includes having you send her pictures of your hair ahead of time and a list of your products you use so she can come up with an individualized game plan for your appointment. I’d say the appointment was 50% cutting/​styling, 50% education, which was my favorite part. She wants you to truly understand your curls and how to properly care for them. I have very curly hair and am always terrified getting a new stylist because I know how bad it can turn out, but you have nothing to worry about with Diane. She knows what she’s doing and since she has curly hair herself, she seems to understand everything about it. I would strongly recommend Diane to anyone for cut, color, and styling.

Diane is an excellent hair dresser and I just love her new salon! I have been going to her for years and she is the only hair dresser I trust with my hair. She turned me on to the deva products and I will never go back, they always help give my hair moisture and she helps me style it with the products every time! Diane is incredibly sweet and will always check in with you along the way to make sure you like the cut! I recommend Diane to anyone that needs a trim, new look, or a new style!
