Specialties
Dakota Downsizing has a team of employees to assist seniors and their families with the overwhelming task of parting with decades of possessions. We will organize, evaluate and coordinate the dispersal of one room or an entire household. My team will take the time to quickly sort through everything in a house; often finding treasured family mementos.
Our personalized service is what sets us apart. Clients are very grateful they have found a trustworthy and respectful advocate to help them, even with the smallest details.
Dakota Downsizing has a large network of appraisers, buyers and charitable organizations to call upon. We often work in tandem with real estate agents, home stagers, movers and family members.
Our clients include seniors selling their house or reducing clutter in their current home, adult children helping parents with unplanned transitions, and executives of estates needing to liquidate remaining household assets.
History
Established in 2013.
The concept for Dakota Downsizing really started in 2010. I was asked by a real estate agent to downsize a packed townhouse for her aging stepfather.
So often, the clients that followed had lived in their homes for 40+ years, with no family in the area to help them transition to their new retirement community.
From this commitment and compassion to help the elderly, a unique service evolved using my organizing skills and enjoyment of coordinating large projects.
I became a member of the National Assoc. of Professional Organizers and officially launched my business in January 2013.
