Columbia needed a fine bakery like Crust. Delicious breads, scones and alternating muffins, cookies, biscuits and other treats. They do run out of the scones quickly do best to stop by early.

This was my first visit to Crust. Unilocal says they’re open till 530, the sign on the door says 330, the owner says that they often stay later than 330 when they’re prepping for the next day. Long story short, lucky me! I got a wonderful scone. One of the best selling items, and I’m excited to go back and purchase some bread later this week. The place was clean and the owner was very friendly. 5 stars

Delectable — if any place is deserving of that word, it is this petite bakery! I have to remind myself to take pictures of the goods before I devour them Cookie Monster-style, so my fellow Unilocalers can see what they should have had for breakfast this morning. I make a point to try something new each time I visit. I’ve been here quite a few times now and I have NEVER been disappointed. Everything is so flavorful and has the perfect consistency… texture? Whatever it is, it’s perfect. In addition to my one new item, I always try to get the chocolate cork whenever they have them! Yummm! Definitely my favorite thing… so far. I haven’t tried their coffee yet(been on a tea kick lately), but I’ve heard only positive things. But even if the coffee was garbage, l would still give this place 5 stars for the baked goods alone! Yes, they are that tasty! They conjure feelings of a purpose and rightness with the world that leaves you with that good mood afterglow. It’s simple really… you want to have a good day? Then start your morning here!

Y’all… Sausage and pepper jack scone? You had me at hello. This was my first trip there. I should have taken a little bite of the scone before I left because I seriously would have bought all the ones they had left.(Sorry, Cola Town peeps!) The store is tiny and smells like heaven. Check out the chalkboard for the breads of the day and I’d suggest getting there early. They apparently sell out of items because it’s all that yum. If anything is left over then they mark it down the next day. I scored a day old loaf of ciabatta for only $ 2 and it was still super delish. They have sweet items as well and even some little doggie biscuits! How cute is that? Expect lots of Unilocal App check ins from me for Crust and expect no sausage and pepper jack scones if you get there after me. ;-)

Everything I’ve had here has been great. Because it is so popular, they often sell out. I keep going late in the afternoon when things are picked over. However, this is obviously a good problem for a bakery to have!

Best of Columbia. Local neighborhood bakery, source of fresh bread and other baked goods. Favorite so far, pane francese in breads and ginger-pecan scone in goods. Check them on facebook. UPDATE: Date-almond scones are on the rotation, order them via Facebook or Twitter by the dozen. So popular, you should do as I do, and check their offerings on Facebook then reserve a loaf(or 3!!!) in advance.

High quality, fresh ingredients, and the baked goods are moist and tasty! Excellent, friendly service and they are very FaceBook friendly. Definitely worth the trip!

Crust is seriously one of the best local businesses in Columbia. I’ve tried almost everything — baguettes, scones, cakes, sourdough, foccacia, ciabatta, chocolate bread, etc — and all of it was beyond delicious. I’m glad that I live on the opposite side of town, otherwise I would’ve already gained five pounds in bread-weight! If you want to have a wide variety to pick from, make sure to show up before 11 a.m. The popular items tend to sell out quickly. They also sometimes post special deals online, and you can comment on Facebook to reserve items if you’re afraid that you won’t make it in time.

Great bakery items and bread. Only open Tues-Sat and they run out of items such as scones pretty fast. Would give it 5 stars if it wasn’t so difficult to buy the items I want. Scones run $ 2.49, Bread around $ 4-$ 6. They also have coffee and local pasta for sale. If you have a dog/dogs they sometimes have dog treats available.
