We went to Columbia to look around. I had been there many times but David had never been. It was a wonderful day. I saw a lady at the wagon/buggy stable in «historical clothes» and asked where I could get an outfit because I was a docent at my local museum and would love to dress in «historical wear». She walked me over to the dry goods store where the gentleman behind the counter was just very nice. He had dresses in my size that used to be his wife. He even has shoes in my side. I ended up buying a pair of shoe’s and dress and a small cloth to cover the bun on my head. Mind you we went here in May 2013 and I am just getting to my Unilocal…:). I can’t wait to go back and get some more historical clothes and a shall and bonnet. Thank you for helping… and I am so glad I was able to purchase the lovely clothes that your wife loved so much. Just know they are being worn and cared for and loved by me. These clothes bring great joy to those that com into the museum I docent.

This is a great little store. I stopped in her with my 9 month old son and 3 year old niece and never had any issues. The 3 year old even tried on a few hats, which the staff was more than helpful with. It’s a true authentic old time store. Many of not most are hand made in some way the old fashioned way with good quality. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I also make a point to stop in to look whenever I’m in the area. I’ve gotten some really amazing gifts here for babies that were all hand stitched. You can find that anywhere any more, unless you know how to knit or know someone who does. The quality is beyond perfection.
