History

Established in 2010.

Cedar Creek Ranch was owned previously by the Clausen family. They had the original three homes that surround Newman Lake. The Cottage, A-​Frame and the Lodge were used by the family that raced horses in the 80’s and 90’s. Then a local businessman purchased it from them and named it Cedar Creek Lodge. He built the additional 6 cabins and updated the A-​frame and the Lodge. He added the commercial kitchen in the Lodge as well. He had planned to use all the space as an Executive Retreat Center for corporate business meetings and a hunter’s paradise with a state-​of-​the-​art skeet shooting operation. After his death it sat empty for several years before Life Christian Outreach purchased it in July of 2010. It is now one of Missouri’s largest outdoor wedding venues.

Hi, I am Kasey, the wedding and event contact for Cedar Creek Resort. I am excited to be a part of such a wondeful organization. Soon I will have a marketing degree and will continue my work with CCR to help our couples have the wedding of their dreams. I personally know these guys and they know how to take care of their guests.
Their property is amazing. The lake is beautiful.
If you want a carefree wedding or corporate event, go talk to them.
One of the great things about this property is that it is taken care of and property owners know how to make sure your experience is top notch.
If there was a bad side to this property, I can’t think of one.

In all honesty, I did not get a chance to visit Cedar Creek Resort. But I DO know that they refused service to a loving couple who happens to be a same sex relationship. I will not patronize their resort or any other business that so blatantly discriminates.

Recently attended a wedding and stayed in the A frame cabin. You walk in and the musky smell overwhelms you. There are 2 sliding glass doors that over look the lake 1 of the doors the handle was broken and the other the screen door was broken. The bathroom is small and disgusting with a shower that’s smaller than most broom closets. They advertise this place for 8 people REALLY with 1 tiny bathroom are you crazy? Luke warm water for about 5 minutes in the shower. And the bunk size beds with bars are a back killer if you didn’t have back problems before staying here you will when you leave. We did get the water fixed so for the last day we had hot water for the shower and they did fix one of the sliding glass doors. Not a place for getting ready for a wedding. Wished I would of kept the hotel I originally booked, For the price they charge I expected a LOT BETTER ACCOMMODATIONS !

I will never be patronizing this place. They turn away loving couples simply because they are homosexual. Nobody should ever be treated that way. Telling a couple that they violate your“doctrine of beliefs” is despicable. Your «morality» looks a lot like hate.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am sure by now you are well aware of the negative backlash regarding your refusal to host my sister and her fiancée’s wedding ceremony and reception. Their love and the celebration of that love does not comply with your «doctrine of beliefs.» You cannot «accommodate their needs at this time.» However you word it, it has the same meaning: hate.
You have refused the wedding of two educated, socially minded women who will change this world for the better and have already started doing so. My sister works with disadvantaged children at one job and with adults recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction at another. Her fiancée is a PhD candidate who works with various underprivileged populations: those suffering from mental diseases and disorders, people with HIV and AIDS, women who have been sexually abused or assaulted, and people who live in countries that lack a stable supply of clean water. They both work with populations that I am sure do not fit into your «doctrine of beliefs.» They are good people.
I hope you can see from the posts on Facebook, the letters you will receive, and hopefully the media attention you will get, that hate is unacceptable no matter what the situation. I am never surprised by discrimination or hate, only disappointed and saddened by it.

My husband and I were recently married on this gorgeous 100+ acre property in the middle of glorious Missouri nowhere. We stayed in luxurious cabins and rustic old A-​frames and country lodges on the expansive lake. We fished, drove golf carts, and had a blast.
Customer service is less than awesome, but contractually succinct. Wasn’t a fan that the amenities we had access to weren’t made clear. Wasn’t a fan that there were unguided tours viewing the resort on our last day there. Not to mention, it was very expensive – so keep that in mind!
