Capitol Urology offers excellent medical and surgical care in the diagnosis and treatment of male and female urinary conditions including prostate cancer, benign diseases of the prostate, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, male sexual dysfunction, cancer of the kidney, cancer of the bladder and family planning services including no-scalpel vasectomy.
Dr. Edmunds specializes in treating prostate cancer, including nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy (da Vinci® Robotic Prostatectomy), laser treatment of enlarged prostate (BPH) using the Greenlight Laser, laparoscopic hand assisted removal of kidneys, no-scalpel vasectomy, treatment of kidney stones, and many other surgeries, which should always be the last option, but in some cases, are the best route to take, especially when dealing with prostate cancer.

History
Established in 2005.
After working in partnership with other doctors for 5 years, Dr. Edumunds opened Capitol Urology as a solo practitioner to specialize in the treatment of prostate cancer, kidney stones, prostate enlargement (BPH), kidney masses and testicular masses, and no-scalpel vasectomy using the latest technology and minimally invasive techniques in 2005.

Business Owner
Dr. Edmunds was born and raised in Columbia, SC where he attended Hammond, and played lots of sports. After high school, he attended Davidson College, taking a year off after graduation to play in a band traveling the East Coast, wait tables, and be a cook.
He attended MUSC, where he met his wife, and then moved to New York for six years to participate in a training program at State University of New York. As the only urology resident, the training allowed him to gain valuable experience in complex surgeries.
Dr. Edmunds moved back to Columbia in 2001 and joined Columbia Urological PA, working there for five years before opening Capitol Urology on his own.
Dr. Edmunds has three children, two dogs and three cats, with his wife Meg.
