Specialties

When it comes to a burger, you deserve the best, freshest bites between a bun, strait from BGR the Burger Joint. Our burgers are crafted with the finest beef on the planet — Prime grade which guarantees a juicy and flavorful bite each and every time. We use cattle raised on grass and without hormones, fillers or antibiotics. The buns are made for us locally and delivered fresh daily. Lastly, the burgers are grilled to temperature over an open flame — not fried on a piece of stainless steel.

BGR the Burger Joint presents to you not a fast food place, not a mass production burger operation, but a «joint» — one that you can make your own, stay awhile and enjoy the food. If you’re not sure what to get, we suggest the Wellington, our grand champion burger topped with caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, black truffles and blue cheese crumbles. It’s always a hit! Feel free to also create your own legend! Choose from fresh toppings like lettuce and tomato, then add extras like Applewood bacon, avocado, caramelized onions, and then your choice of cheese to top it off! We also have a great assortment of delicious milkshakes to go along with your meal.

Our community means a lot to us, and we’re proud to fundraise your school, church, or group event. We’ll hold a fund raising night and donate a portion of that evening’s profits. BGR the Burger Joint aims to change your expectations of what a burger joint can be, so come by soon!

BGR The Burger Joint was established in Washington DC. We opened in Columbia, MD in 2011 and continue our mission to provide fresh, wholesome burgers that are delicious every time. We look forward to you joining us soon at BGR The Burger Joint.

When Catonsville native Topper Person first put a hamburger from BGR: The Burger Joint to his lips, he knew he wanted to do more than work for the company that could create a sandwich that delicious. He graduated from Salisbury University in 2009, and after scheduling a meeting with family friend and CEO of BGR The Burger Joint, decided he wanted to own one for himself. Topper works hard to make sure the customer experience is the best one possible, and hopes that you love every minute of your burger from BGR The Burger Joint.

Good burgers cooked to order for a quick lunch meal. I would recommend if your in the area shopping around and want a quality burger. The tables are always sticky there so that part kinda grosses me out but it doesn’t seem particularly dirty? Idk maybe just the weird plastic gel stuff they are coated with. Nice staff

Great burger period… end of review! No I am kidding… this is a smart and well ran establishment. I love the selection and the quality of meat for their burgers. I had the Triple D and I tell you it was the BOMB-DIGGITY!
The Burger:
I ordered it medium and the burger was served with egg and bacon. This combo I have eaten many times at other restaurants, the highlight of this specimen was the burger was cooked medium and not medium well. I enjoyed every bite of this «sammich».
The fries:
This is the reason I cannot give 5 stars. The fries weren’t bad, but they weren’t great either.

I come here about once a week for one reason, the Triple D. I honestly don’t get any other burgers here anymore. Though they are all pretty tasty, none compare to the true king. I give 5 stars for the Triple D (without changing any of the toppings…). About 3.75 for the rest. None of the other toppings really satisfy me that much, but they aren’t bad. I like to try each of their Burger of the Month’s as well. If they get a Bloomin’ Onion burger (fried onion, bloomin onion sauce, bbq sauce, bacon), I’d be here three times a week.

Nothing special. The dining room was dirty. The burger was ok but not good enough for us to return. I got the mushroom topping which is applied cold and overpowered the burger. It’s wasn’t appetizing. We got sweet potato fries and regular fries. Neither of which were seasoned with salt or anything. They offer parmesan seasoning for an extra 49 cents. You should get it cause otherwise you get nothing. The burgers tasted bland. Like my wife said «it’s better then no burgers. But not by much.»

This is a solid burger joint with juicy and tasty burgers. I enjoyed the burger special for May with the guacamole and my family was pleased with the crispy/meaty fries. I was tickled on how they cook the burgers to your taste and mine was seasoned well. Mmmm… I shall be back BGR.
Side note: My food experience was awesome but the customer service was a bit lacking (hence the 4 stars and not 5). I like my burgers without the side of attitude please.

I don’t know if they were just off the day I went, but the burger was very disappointing/gross, place was very dirty, and cashier was rude. Go here if you like your burger to taste like some over-cooked hot garbage.

If you like a great burger, this is the place. They grill it to order over an open flame so it has that outdoor grill kinda taste and texture.
The staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and their loyalty program Service is pretty quick and they give you one of those buzzer things to let you know when your’e burger is done.
Of course, there are a lot of other things to choose from other than the straight up burger.
I decided to check it out because they actually engaged with me on Twitter and it was more than just a «visit our store with a link». It seemed like a real person in a real 140 character conversation.
The ambiance is strictly low key. Nothing fancy. However, the prices are decent and they have this thing called the Boxed Set which is the burger, fries and a soda for a reasonable price. Oh, and the fries are good and they’re hot when you get them.
Bottom line: good place for a good burger.

The beef is very good quality and it is a wonderfully seasoned patty. My burger was delicious. The fries, I got all the added seasonings, was chewy. Wasn’t as in love with them as I am the burger. But I will be visiting this restaurant for a good burger.

We came here after seeing the coupon on Unilocal while looking for a place to eat. I have to say that this place FAR exceeded out expectations! Our burgers were delicious and the Rosemary garlic parm fries were amazing. Definitely a good choice.

Great burgers, and most importantly a great staff. The entire staff is very willing to make sure you get your food while it’s hot, I hate warm fries. Evan was fantastic, making sure our food order was accurate. This is one of my favorite burger joins. I don’t have a particular favorite because all their burgers are delicious.

Great burgers and fries. not as quick as fast food, but so much tastier. I like their sweet potato tots!
The tables are interesting too and look like mosaics.
It can get pretty busy at lunch so ordering ahead or getting takeout is a good idea as well.
Check out their special milkshakes of the month too.

I got a turkey burger with mushroom toppings. I didnt really like it — the sauce in the mushroom toppings tasted too intense for me.
I definitely loved the fries, though. I loved that it came in a carry out style box and with a portion big enough for at least two people.
Ill probably come back and try a plain burger next time.

After doing a little shopping in Columbia I decided to use my Groupon after the lunch hour at BGR. Ordered the lunch box and added bacon and mushrooms (wellington topping) and paid extra for the the upgrade. However, that is not what I received. After arriving home all I see is raw bacon and NO wellington topping on my burger… yet I paid extra… really? Not only was it on my receipt but it was also listed on the kitchen order. I was really looking forward to a burger with mushrooms and bacon and BGR failed to deliver even though I was looking forward to a great burger with yummy mushrooms and bacon but BGR stole my money! The burger was not a burger without my toppings.

So far I’ve tried:
The Wellington — good, nothing special, patty was more rare in one side than the other. $ 8.99
Ahi tuna– delicious. Not too heavy and sauce complimented it well. $ 12.99
The Greek– no no no. I love a good gyro but this was not a good knock off. The lamb tasted quite game-y, reminded me a goat meat. It was just too strong. It’s the same price as the Ahi Tuna.
Fries with garlic topping– I’ll come back just for this. Although I wished they tossed the fries with the topping instead of just plopping a scoop of garlic in the middle.
Don’t forget to check in and use the coupon. I don’t feel as badly about wasting money on The Greek bc of it.

I was excited about trying this place and even happier to have snagged a groupon deal for our food. We got the box set which was a good deal and totally covered by the groupon. We also shared a giant chocolate chip cookie which was soft and tasty. We asked for bacon on our burgers but the order didn’t include such which was disappointing. I didn’t feel like getting bacon after the fact since we weren’t charged for it. I wanted to like it more but it was just okay. I know the beef is supposed to be of better quality but it tasted like usual beef to me. Maybe the bacon would have taken it to an above average status. The fries were not the best and I left majority of them on my plate which is unusual for me. I don’t plan on returning but I am picky about my burger.

Stopped in for lunch the other day when I had a few minutes after running a few errands. I had a taste for a burger so figured BGR would satisfy my craving. If you are not familiar with the location it is in the Columbia Crossing Shopping Center. It was during the lunch rush so the parking lot was a nightmare but I will not hold it against BGR. There was a line of 3 people in front of me and all the tables inside were filled. Granted it’s not the largest place but I was getting a good vibe that it wasn’t a ghost town, so the food must be pretty good.
I ordered the lunch special that included a burger, fries and a drink for about 9 dollars. They make your burgers to order right in front of you which is nice. I always like seeing how my food is prepared. I like my burgers medium well and they did a great job grilling it that way. They loaded me down with a ample amount od fresh hot fries. They use steak fries instead of the normal skinny fries. I had my order to go so I didn’t eat it until I got back to work. Surprisingly everything was still hot and was delicious.
I like this little spot and will make a point to come back again.

How is this place any different from 5 guys? Similar, but I prefer 5 guys. Only stopped here because Groupon made me do it. I figured $ 13 for 2 $ 10 groupons was a decent deal and a nice way to try them out. I will say that unless you order the burger box $ 10 wont cover much here. Not much else to say other than fact that here, it’s just a burger.

It’s a 5!!! We were looking for burgers, not Wegmans Bar or Five Guys, and found BGR.
It is a nice, small place. Nice, relaxed atmosphere.
The guys taking the orders were friendly and helpful.
My hubby ordered The Triple D, dry-aged prime burger with fries. He said it was outstanding. Fresh, juicy, cooked to his liking, well seasoned. It was a hit!
I ordered the veggie burger bowl. Veggie patty made of brown rice, black beans. Served over a bed of fresh mixed greens, red onions, cucumbers. Blue cheese, balsamic vinaigrette or BBQ sauce. Those crunchies from the rice patty are delicious. I ate it all. It was that awesome! Next time I will order my patty a bit crunchier. It was perfect.
Service was excellent, food was awesome, tables were clean. This will be our burger joint for sure.
PS when you check in they take 6.00 off your total of 25.00 or more. Nice!!!
