Holiday Inn Express Colton-Riverside North

Remodeling jod is coming along nicely. Last week, I spent my stay in an older room. This week I’m in a remodeled room. Very nice!

This place is ok. Door entrance for room is heavy. Room seemed clean, sheets were clean, bathroom was clean. I paid $ 86.00 for two queen beds which includes breakfast for 1 night stay. Check out was at 11, however I spoke with front desk and they were able to give me a later check out time. If you don’t mind the sound of trains passing by during the day and night, this is a nice place to stay. It didn’t bother me. This place is also close to the baseball fields, if you are staying overnight for that reason.

We use this wonderful location as our Colton to hold our traffic school classes. The staff here is outstanding. They are always attentive to our needs and can’t wait to fulfill them. From Xavier upon my arrival to Mariana, Destanie and Sunny there was nothing but smiles and willingness to exceed expectations. Courteous, efficient and professional service coupled with friendliness and genuine personalities make Mariana and Destanie the best front desk staff I have experienced in my 22 years of teaching all over the SoCali. Great job, ladies. I look forward to my next visit already. Thank you, HIE.

We arrived early from Denver. I figured that I would see if we could get an early check in. The front desk staff was super friendly and found a room for me immediately. The rooms were very clean and the bed was super comfortable. I would highly recommend, and has made me a fan of Holiday Inn.

We weren’t able to check in till 4pm had to stay out here for a wedding by the time we were able to get to the room and lay down was late and the bed was broken and the half that wasn’t broken was very hard room looked clean but felt very dirty same with the rest of the hotel just happy to leave. Will not be coming back!

This hotel is just nasty. Wall paper is peeling in the lobby. The base boards are filthy. Tiles in the elevator are cracked and chunks of plaster are missing. The worst is the rooms, they stink. I can’t tell if it’s from former smokers or from mold in the air handling system, but they stink. I am dreading spending the night in this dump. Yuck!

Room did not smell clean, front desk told me I could check out at 2pm and later on a different person called at 1:00pm from front desk asking when I was leaving and that they didn’t have a late check out set up for me and that I needed to check out by 1:30 at the latest. The final straw was when I went to iron my clothes I found dirty underwear left on the floor in the closet from the previous guest! I will definitely not stay here again

The worst ever! Twice the keys didn’t work, locked out and had to walk the block to the front lobby.
Twice the keys didn’t work once I got to the room.
The elevator is broken and I’m on the third floor.
The vending machines were out of order!!!
There was no hot water and the water flow trickled out of shower head. I could pee harder than this water flow.
Do not recommend this hotel at all!!!

It’s a holiday in express, we got rooms at $ 57 a night. Is is at clean and nice as other holiday inn express’s I’ve stayed in? No. Did it do the job I needed it to do? Yes. You won’t regret staying here, but you won’t want to tell your friends either.

I had stay at this location in between 2001 – 2009 but have not, till Saturday 8÷1÷15 … What I used to like about this place that it was clean and up to date to most Holiday inn. Not no more it’s sooo out of date. (Motel style now) it smells musty and humidity inside is terrible. In the middle of the night a door gets broken inn by the fire department two door from our room. Front desk is really not helpful, we ask for extra blanket (we aren’t housekeeper (guy said) so no blanket or sheets) We won’t be returning to this Holiday inn at all. I will write a letter to corporate about maintaining and updating this location. Yes I do like the ones in Ontario, at least they are clean and in good locations.

Pms stains on sheets, room smells like smoke and sheets smelled like stinky cheesy feet. I don’t not recommend this hotel at all

The price was $ 115 a night. This hotel is a franchise and needs a major upgrade, it’s very dated. I can always tell when a business is a franchise because they are never up to par with the corporate locations. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I watched them engage with the other customers. They have a great breakfast! Cold cereal, hot cereal, variety of muffins, variety of bagels, variety of fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs, biscuits, muffins, turkey sausage, gravy for the biscuits, yogurt, cinnamon buns, coffee, hot chocolate, tea. And I’m sure I forgot some stuff. Breakfast was great! And it lasts from 6:30 to 10. So you have plenty of time to get dressed and eat. And it was clean. The tub in our room was dirty, and the table was sticky and dirty. They don’t give the staff enough time to thoroughly clean these rooms, I’ve done housekeeping before. You barely have enough time to change the bedding and vacuum and replace and refill things. But anyway. We enjoyed our stay, only 2 nights.

Clean hotel, but extremely noisy! Railroad tracks and a crossing are right by the hotel so you hear trains all hours of the night.

Decent hotel to stay with friends. Very clean & maid staff was great! However front desk was kinda rude it would have been nice to see happier faces.

I don’t recommend it. My leg was burned by the lamp in the jacuzzi. Left my complaint card for the general manager, Travis, who claimed not to hear about the incident. When I reached him by phone he said I «was the first person who ever complained» about getting burned. I guess he’s waiting for a lawsuit. They ran out of basic breakfast food by 9am Sunday. The garbage cans in the dining room were messy. No modern flip security bolts on the room doors.

Not a bad place to stay, nothing extraordinary. Clean and good costumer service, what more canny asking for.

Way better than expected! In a strange area, but I suppose you would be staying here out of need, not desire. Room, pool and staff exceed expectations. Bfast was your typical free breakfast. Trains are annoying all day, but didn’t here them at night. For food I recommend getting on the 215 N and taking the 1^st exit. You will find many restaurants. The Yum Yum place looks questionable… free wi-​fi and coffee in the lobby all-​day (warm cookies in the evening were nice)

Nice pool & jacuzzi. Straight forward hotel which is several years old in industrial/​commercial area location. Jack in the Box next-​door, also big gas station. The property is walled, security is good, hotel seems well staffed, maintained, for business travelers who don’t require a vacation feel.
Train noise. Very busy as explained below.
Holiday Inn Express — Colton is the site of Colton Crossing, one of the busiest at-​grade railroad crossings in the United States. This crossing is currently being replaced by a fly-​over that will raise the east-​west Union Pacific tracks over the north-​south Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks.
The Union Pacific’s «Sunset Route» and the BNSF’s «Northern Transcontinental Route» cross at this point. As traffic on each line has soared since the mid-​1990s, fueled largely by the vast increase in imports passing through the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, the primitive crossing has become a serious bottleneck. The crossing was installed in 1882 by the California Southern Railroad to cross the Southern Pacific Railroad’s tracks while building northward from San Diego.
Hopefully once the train track routing construction is complete the train noise of two major routes directly crossing each other will disappear.
Price is affordable. Security is good. A good hotel.

Another horrid San Bernadino hotel experience en route to Big Bear. Checked in here this past Saturday night. Everything was fine — decently friendly service, hot shower, room was spacious & clean, plenty of towels, etc. Buuuut things took a bad turn around 12:00am.
First off the hotel’s proximity to an apparently very busy train track/​crossing is NOT good. Trains went by ALL night honking (tooting?) their horns. Not really the hotel’s fault, but nonetheless — no fun and not conducive for sleeping. Weird to build a hotel next to train tracks.
Second, the hall outside of our door sounded as if a heard of cracked out water buffalo were set free. Doors were slammed all night. The phrase «fuck off» was shouted several times while running up & down the hall and the smell of weed and cigarettes wafted in the air. Top notch. I called the front desk at 3:45am and they said they would send security up. Umm… yeah. Nothing was stopped. Between the idiotic patrons and the train we were up every hour of the night.
Woke up to more yelling at 7am, looked out the window (which is located directly above the pool area) to spot 5 people with a shit load of beers marinating in the spa. 7AM PEOPLE! The halls outside had trash overflowing w/​beer bottles as did the parking lot.
When we finally went down for breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised to find tons of yummy food, coffee and juices to choose from. So that part was good. I approached the front desk staff about the noise level and the problems not being resolved and was told (verbatim) «there was a rave last night, so we expect these things.» WRONG. ANSWER. Guess who doesn’t «expect these things» front desk lady? PAYING FUCKING guests. Guests that will never return to this hotel.
I am aware that they are in the business of making money and cannot control who purchases rooms — but they they can control how they handle guests and undesirable situations and that is where they failed horribly. I called Holiday Inn corporate and they have been helpful on working with me to get a refund or credit. I am giving them a star ONLY for the hot breakfast and good customer relations staff in their corporate offices. This hotel & the unhelpful staff are a joke.

Nearly six years ago when I first moved to California, I rented a furnished apartment which came with a twin bed. It was fine when I lived alone, but when my fiancé (now husband) came to visit, well — I wasn’t in college dorms anymore, so there was no reason why two people needed to sleep in a twin. So off we’d go to the Holiday Inn in Colton, where my husband got some good deals here, and it seemed slightly less sketchy than the cheaper hotels in Riverside.
I probably stayed here ten or twelve nights over the course of the year. The place felt safe and it was pretty straightforward. The description the hotel provided on the Unilocal page is pretty much spot on: this place is clean and uncomplicated. They have a huge parking lot, so parking was never a problem. Breakfast was pretty lame, but it’s free and no different than any other Holiday Inn Express, so it was pretty much what we expected. I’ve recommended that people stay here over the years… and I’m pretty sure it’s about the same now as it was six years ago.
