Unfortunately, time tells… In the intervening months since I’ve lived in my new house, a seemingly endless series of «discoveries» have occurred, identifying problems that should have been surfaced during my home inspection. Most recently, when I had someone out to do an estimate for house painting, he identified the rotten joists in my decks — and said that the home inspector really should have seen that problem (the rotten joists were very visible directly over the front porch — not hidden at all). Now I’m in for a big, expensive deck replacement that I could have easily charged off to the sellers if I had known…
I still think Scott is very friendly and easy to work with — just not as thorough as I thought (or maybe experienced — in terms of not being able to recognize things like dry rot). But the reason you hire an inspector is to identify problems — so I need to adjust my review down to 2 stars.

I purchased a brand-​new house recently in Colorado Springs. Scott and his team did an excellent job identifying issues which we never realized. Good things about this company are: 1) punctual 2) thorough 3) sincere 4) their report is precise/​easy to understand 5) excellent follow-​up/​rapport with the customers.
One month after his inspection, I had some questions/​concerns about my house and his inspection result. Scott spent his time, came to my house, and responded to my concerns.
Scott and his company have a good pride what they do and truly care about their customers. I have to give his companies and Scott 5-​star rating.

Scott Whitbeck was our inspector for the new house that we were interested in buying. As first home buyers, my husband and I were naturally nervous and hoping to gain knowledge to make an informed decision. Scott Whitbeck was professional, knowledgeable and extremely thorough. I appreciated how customer focused he was as well. His report covered all issues, big or small, which was also important to us. We will hire this company again soon. Highly recommended.

Promptly created a very nice complete inspection report. Easy to read and understand and accompanied by nice photos. Was recommended by our real estate agent, glad we used them.

Home Team arrived 15 minutes early for the appointment with their team of three inspectors. They went over any issues they found in a thorough but easy to understand manner. They also took the time to answer additional questions we had about the property.

Home inspections are the most important part of the closing on a property. If you choose to have Home Team Inspection Service LLC do your inspection make sure you are physically present! One of the items listed as operational on my home inspection was broken and I had to pay to get it fixed as soon as I moved in! When I contacted the Home Team Inspection agent he asked for the receipt and never got back to me…

Moving to 80 906 from out of state. My Realtor had used Home Team for years and recommended them. The day after the contract was accepted, Scott Whitbeck was out at the new place by 830am-​great appointment/​response. After several hours he documented several things; most importantly caught unsafe/​high levels of Rayon and an unsafe electrical box that was also mis-​wired. These two items were expensive for the seller to remedy. A good inspector not only saves you the heart break of repairs, but a lot of costs down the road. I was impressed with his written report and he availed himself to phone calls with further recommendations. Worth every penny! I’d use him again, but not moving anytime soon. If I could somehow score him higher; I would GREAT job.

This company did an excellent job while inspecting the home I recently purchased. Like most people reading this, I really had no idea what to expect from an inspection, I just knew it was a good idea to get one before purchasing a new house. Scott (the owner himself) came out on a Sunday morning for me because I was on a tight schedule with my closing date. He did not even mention charging a dime extra for this. He went over what the inspection actually is, what he would be looking at and how his final report would be formatted (With pictures of everything including arrows pointing out anything he found to be an issue). He went into GREAT detail of his professional process and didn’t mind/​even encouraged me asking allot of questions. I can assure you that if you give him a call to just talk to him you will feel 100% confident with what this company provides you as a client.
Scott sends out an email after his inspection asking to write a short review on his website letting people know what was good or what was bad about your experience with his business. I chose to put my review on here because I know when I was searching for an inspector I looked on Unilocal first and saw only one, pretty poor review. I wanted to do Home Team Inspection Service a little justice and let people know how great, professional, and courteous they were with me.
I would recommend them to any friends or family and I will personally be using them again when it comes time to sell my house.

Scott Whitbeck’s inspection was satisfactory, but incomplete. I have yet to receive the pictures I paid for with my report. Apparently he dropped his camera after my inspection and lost all the pictures of my house. Then he said he would come back to retake the pictures, but was very hesitant. He said:
«…pictures are not a mandatory part of an inspection. The report is self explanatory in itself. Im willing to take the pictures, but I dont really see the point as the report explains the same things as any pictures would.»
I would not recommend Home Team Inspection Service to anyone because of the extremely poor customer service.
