Garden of the Gods RV Resort

This was kind of confusing to find as it is the same name as the park. Bad intersection. It was VERY full and not at all picturesque. The facility was clean enough. Lots of kids without supervision

My husband and I stayed here 5÷17÷16 for 5 days. This place has absolutely no redeeming qualities. Making reservations is a nightmare, you can’t get anyone on the phone, they don’t return messages so we ended up making reservations through email. We arrived and tried to check in and the lady at the desk was clueless… finally after much ado they put our 30′ RV in a tight spot. I say tight because the spots are essentially right on top of each other so much so, we didn’t have space to put our awning out. The laundry facility was ok. The pool was dirty. The security guys were pleasant. Overall it was not as depicted on the website, there are no views of The Garden of the Gods from the park. We won’t stay here again or recommend it to any friends.

Full disclosure: We are first-​time RV’ers so some of this may just be rookie stuff. The campground was right next to a highway so traffic noise was LOUD (it should be noted that CO Springs seems to be the land of oversized tailpipes). I’m not sure we were in the safest part of town. The sites are on top of one another — there is zero privacy. Everything was xeriscaped which wasn’t very pretty to look at. We travelled with our dog and there was a fenced area for dogs — it was nice to let her run but it was nothing but dirt so she was covered in dust and had to be washed every night. We expected grills but there was just one that we saw next to the playground. I’m not sure how it would have worked if everyone wanted to grill on the same night. The best part was that Garden of the Gods Park was moments away… and it’s a beauty! Plan to spend all day there, it’s breathtaking!

Currently, the display photo on Unilocal shows this gorgeous view of the Garden of the Gods PARK, so I was led to believe that I would be able to see this beautiful sight from the RV Park. Haha, silly me. The only view I saw were the neighboring RV’s 5 feet away. RV’s here were STACKED! I guess if you are looking for a glorified parking lot, this is the place to go. I checked in after hours which caused a problem as I needed a code to get into the restroom, and I had no way to get the code. Eventually I asked a gal who was doing her laundry. I guess that would be the good news. Laundry facilities are on site, as is a dog park and play ground. Still, I won’t go back.

Nice park, friendly employees. Very accommodating as we booked at the last minute. Clean and shady spots. Nicest campground in town, don’t pass this one up!

Pros — We were lucky and received a site at the end of the aisle, so it wasn’t as tight as some other spots.
We were conveniently located to everything we had planned to visit, plus a few we stumbled across. Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, North Pole, Rainbow Falls, Helen Hunt Falls, Downtown Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs, etc.
Bathrooms and Grounds were meticulously maintained.
Had a nice trail access alongside a creek right from the RV Park.
Workers were very helpful on navigating the tight turns, as they do escort you and direct you in to your spot. One of the guys is like a Master pro Parker. My husband said he didn’t need his help but it was nice having the guy just tell him exactly what to do anyway. ;) He said it made it effortless for him.
The open grounds where the park and horseshoes are gave my son and his newly made friends a lot of room to play.
Only Con– My biggest and only con was we had no parking and had to park a ways from our camper. Having a 6 yr old and an 18 mo old it was inconvenient to have to lug the stroller and all other items back and forth to the vehicle when we were getting ready to go on hikes and day trips to places.
We were traveling in a 35 Ft travel trailer.

This is the first RV park we have ever stayed at. I kinda had a difficult time looking for it. Once I found the area, we were greeted by the smell of urine. We were about to check in and I noticed that the RV trucks looks crammed. One whole star off because of that.
We rented a little cabin for one night just before our trip back home to Chicago. The place was clean. The living room has a tv, a futon, and a little dining table.
It has a full kitchen, with a fridge, sink, stove. Can’t remember if it has a dishwasher. My only problem was the freezer does not make ice. You have to buy it from the office. I love their storage area where you can place your luggage, hang your coats or light jacket, or your only clean looking pair of pants. The sink is found in the hallway between the bathroom, storage area, and bedroom. The bedroom was clean and it has its own air conditioning unit. My only complain was the cheap feeling mattress, but hey it does its job.
Bathroom. Now that was very cozy. Literally.
I am 5’2. I am short and I should not need a lot of space. But sitting on the toilet made me feel claustrophobic. I can barely turn to wipe my butt. It was clean so I was contented.
One more thing. The wifi? Might as well be non existent because you cannot connect to it at all. I gave up trying and decided to read a book.
This place has its pros and cons, but if I you’ll ask me if I would stay there again, I would say definitely.

Not sure why many rated this so low. This is a wonderful park with an arcade for the kids, lots of site space and friendly staff. Everyone was very accommodating and there is onsite propane, clean restrooms and several washers and dryers in their Landry room. Wifi was terrible throughout our two week stay which meant trips to Starbucks for a coffee and much needed Internet.

What a joke… they cram you in like sardines. They don’t tell you that you need better than 30ft of hose and electrical cord to go under your trailer to plug into your service that’s in someone else camp spot… There was no place to put our dully (what do they think you pull a fifth wheel with… a car?) Waaaay to expensive just to have a pool. We pulled in and forfeited the money… that’s how uncomfortable it was…

I never write reviews but felt like I needed to share our experience for the sake of others. The park itself wasn’t in bad condition and is in a convenient location. But if you have medium or large dogs I would not recommend it. The dog park fence was broken so non park members walking by with dogs could actually get through the fence. We brought this up several times to the office and maintenance and nothing ever got done and our dog was attacked by an outside dog. There are also no lights for night walks etc. But the worst part about the park was the staff. Although there were a few friendly and helpful ladies in the office, the management and maintenance staff were extremely rude. I had made several attempts to be friendly however the maintenance guy was so rude it was even borderline harassment. He would follow me and watch everything I did, it made me very uncomfortable. He also complained constantly about people with dogs and how they didn’t pick up their poop. We ended up getting kicked out of the park after 7 months with their reasoning of I was on the cell phone while in the dog park, therefore not supervising my dog and leaving poop. I can tell you this is not the case as we are very responsible pet owners but regardless, there was always dog poop in the park and always young children running around with no parental supervision for hours. We later found out that they just wanted to make room for daily rv’s vs long term stays because they made more money that way. I think the park would be ok for short stays and would be improved drastically if they changed some of their staff and had more safety precautions.

This was the first RV park we have stayed in and we were very happy with our stay. They are extremely organized, the bathrooms are nice and clean, there is a playground, two nice pools, one heated, and the park has lots of different options for various needs. They definitely pack them in tight (a little overwhelming at first), but everyone was friendly and we met lots of people. It is definitely a more urban location, but we saw that as a plus. Very close access to downtown manitou springs, garden of the gods, pike’s peak, and other great locations. We had a friend running Pike’s Peak marathon, who stayed in the bunk houses and also enjoyed it.

Great RV park. In fact it is the nicest you’ll get in this area. Close to Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds and of course the Garden of the Gods. It is also right on the boarder of Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs. You kinda get the best of both worlds. The Park itself is well equiped and the staff is very friendly. They offer a multitude of different types of spots to suit your needs. It was clean, safe and close to everything we wanted to see/​do. So it was great for us. I don’t think that you can go wrong with this park.

This place was definitely not what I expected. It was not very rural at all but in more of an urban environment. While it was in an awkward location I did find it a decent place to stay. If you are looking for room to stretch out that this is not your place. There were tons of RVs here we were packed in VERY close. The other campers we met were great. The reservation system was great. When we realized we were going to be there after hours we called and the gal on the phone was great to work with and left us our after hours packed. We arrived there in the dark and thought we were definitely on the wrong side of the tracks, my suggestion is get there before dark.
I would stay here again when in the area but would not go out of my way to do so.

Not what we expected for a «Resort» RV park. Dirty hot tub that was not even hot. Dog park was at the very back long walk and it was dirt no grass, nor was there grass at the rv site. The night we stayed there was loud music across the street from 7pm till 1045pm we could not even be outside it was so bad.

We had a death in the family. I wanted a quieter space. We have a playground across the street and lively children all around. We wanted to be near our family, we are diagonally across! The person parking us was dour. They put us in a spot just barely long enough when we see empty neighboring sites nearby that would fit our motor home and our car that we had to park in the parking lot. We have sated here before years ago and felt it was nice in spite if the high price — now I will never stay here again AND I would tell others to avoid it. It is not the way to treat a bereaved family, or anyone.

We stayed here recently and stayed in a Garden Studio, it was hot as haytees! all week, in the 90’s, so we were in the pool to cool off a few times, very nice pools, but sure could use some shade trees, or at least a 5 – 6 umbrellas to sit under when its that hot out. We found the bathrooms and laundry were very well kept and clean which is a Plus in our book, as we travel all over.
The problem was when the a.c. blew a circuit and it was miserable trying to get to sleep without the air conditioning! There was NO emergency number to call, come on this is suppose to be a great park!!! Management where are you? No 24 hour # to call if theres a serious problem?
I spoke to another neighbor the next day who had the same problem, seems this happens when everyone is using the a.c. to cool down. Out dated electric boxes maybe? Thank the good Lord when Gary, the man in charge of fixing problems, came early the next morning and fixed the a.c. He was certainly a man that seems to know how to get the job done right. He was very kind, handsome! and helpful. The staff are all a bunch of friendly, nice people., Plus the added improvements, horseshoe pits, game room, etc. show there is work being done to make the park look better.
Nice park, but we may return next year but not when the temps are so hot.

We stayed in one of the «bunkhouse» cabins a few weeks back & really enjoyed our stay. The campground is really close to all the tourist attractions, & right down the road from the Garden of the Gods park.
Our cabin had electricity and ac, & the décor looked as though it had been recently updated a bit. The power in our cabin went out the last night of our stay, so the four electric outlets really can’t handle much use.
All the employees were friendly & helpful, & they have someone on a golf cart doing patrols throughout the night.
The bathrooms are very close to the cabins (thankfully) and they were all very clean.
We could never get the wifi to work on our phones, but it worked (veryyyyy slowly) on our laptop. For the price this was definitely a good find, although next time I think we’ll upgrade to a cabin with a bathroom.

It seems there has been a pretty big change in management and upkeep here. It was our first RV trip and the staff was super polite when we checked in. Had a golf cart escort us to our spot and help us park as well.
It is pretty much an RV only campground, although there was one tent. The bathrooms were very clean, free wireless, and their arcade (for nerds like me) was phenomenal (classic pinball, retro stand ups, and air conditioned).
They were building new fence around the dumpsters as well as other fix up work which seems to indicate their desire to improve eve more. It certainly sounds like they’ve come a long way already!

We stayed here in our motorhome for a week last summer when the park was being operated by a bank and returned this summer for a week to check out the joint under new ownership and new management. The change has been good and we are told there are many more changes coming. Most dramatic is the difference in the mood and attitude of the staff members. They seem to enjoy their work and have a genuine interest in helping guests have a good stay.
Bathrooms and laundry are clean and well-​maintained. The park has tons of trees – very important in this summer’s heat and they are all kept nicely trimmed. Both pools appear to be in great shape. Cable TV has a very limited number of channels and is only available in the more expensive sites. Wi-​fi is included but requires an access code to log on for the first time. Our site was very level with a great view of the family pool. ATT cell service is practically non-​existent here – not the park’s fault, but something you should know if you’re an ATT customer and plan to stay here.
I’m giving this place 3 stars but expect that it will continue to improve as the new owner makes additional changes.

Well, first off, if I could give them no stars, I would. We were just kicked out of the campground today because we have a pitbull/​lab mix. My husband and I were out taking a leisurely stroll with our 10 year old dog and 3 ½ month old baby and were approached by a very rude man. He asked us what breed our dog was. We told him and he told us that «pitbulls» were not allowed at the campground. We asked him why and he said, «Last summer a pitbull tore the face off of a man». He told us we needed to leave the campground immediately and he was going to the front desk to talk to who ever was in charge. We started back to our motor home and before we got there here came the rude man with a woman. The first words out of her mouth are you need to leave right now. She said that there was and «incident» involving a pitbull last summer and they banned all pits, rots, German Shepard and Doberman pinchers from the campground. As she was saying this my 10 year old approached her, nudged her foot and was asking for pets. I said she is a very sweet dog and he A-​hole guy ran his trap and said «yeah, the other pit was nice, too» as the lady was petting my dog. At that point, my husband and I just said we will leave and walked away. It took all of my strength not to say anything. While my husband was searching for a new place to stay, they came over to our friends campsite and was harassing them about when we were going to leave (at this point maybe 30 minutes had elapsed) Our friend told the management they are trying to find a place to stay and they will leave when they find one. I do want to mention we were there for two days before this and we had no complaints from other campers. Everyone loved our dog and thought she was the sweetest. If you are large dog owner, be prepared either not to be able to camp here or be under scrutiny no matter how nice or trained your dog is.
I do want to mention that my husband and I are good honest people that follow the rules of society. Our reservations we made by a second party (because we were staying with a group) and if we would have known their policy we would have never agreed to stay there. We never would purposely violate any rules for our own selfish reasons. There are too many other nice campgrounds that do not have restrictions on what kind of dog is allowed. I just want to make that clear.
