Outstanding and 5 Stars!!! Now sit back and read this. We just purchased a new Subaru Outback for the Mrs. She pulled out of the garage and scraped the rear quarter panel about 12 inches and broke off the wheel well molding that I added at the dealership. thank goodness. Accidents happen and it’s OK. I called Heuberger Subaru and they recommended 2 body shops that they use. One of the body shops was Red Noland on Moreno near the Police Station and I wasn’t sure the name of the other. Red Noland gave an estimate of $ 2500-​$ 3000 for the repair. I’m thinking a little high but I’m sure they do good work. Needing another estimate I called Heuberger back and the service adviser recommended I call DMI. She said they were fair and VERY good. I called DMI and went up right away. The receptionist greeted me right away with a smile, offered to make me coffee or a bottle of water. Shelia then came out, introduced herself as their estimator and wanted to see the car. When we went out she looked eagerly as to what a good course of action may be. She said she always likes to have a backup plan. After inspecting the scrapes on 3 panels, she asked if she could take the car in back for 15 minutes. She said she wanted to see if the scratches would buff out and if even possible. She said her guy in the back is the best and before they give me an estimate she wanted to see if it could be taken care of in an easier way. She took the car around back and 15 minutes later pulled it up front for me to see. WOW!!! I could not believe my eyes. The scratch was virtually entirely removed, There were 2 small scratches to the metal though. She recommended that I use a paint cover to protect the metal. With the wheel well molding that I had to replace anyway, the 2 scratches would never be seen or noticed because they were under the molding anyway. The car will look brand new again with absolutely no evidence of any scratches. Long story short… Her expertise found a much simpler, less expensive and professional solution to the repair. It was a perfect fix. I took a $ 3000 repair down to about 200 for the installation of the wheel well molding and part. In addition, I asked her if they had done all the work that the first estimate came in at they would be about a $ 1000 less. I trust DMI. I would not hesitate to refer any of my family or friends to their shop. Later I found out that the service advisor at Heuberger just had her car repaired at DMI because they are the best she said. Why not go where the pros go? Many thanks to Sheila and DMI.

This place is the best. I brought my sports car here (2011 Suburu STI) to have the hood replaced and th front bumper fixed. JP is the owner and he is an honest and straight up guy. The front desk staff was incredible. Sheila was so detailed. She made sure all of my needs were met and kept me posted on every detail/​progress of the repairs. I honestly have always had bad experiences with collision shops but this place was a 10 out of 10. I wouldn’t take it anywhere else. They also put a lifetime guarantee on their work. Fast, friendly, detailed and efficient.

This is hands down the best body shop in the springs. Not only did they call me several times during the repair to keep me informed of what was happening, but they finished ahead of schedule and my jeep looks brand new. Awesome job!

I’ve been to DMI twice — the first time was great. Fast service, good work, no problems. Which is why I returned… big mistake!
This last time, the communication was horrible — car was to be done on a Friday but when I called that morning to figure out what time to come by, I was told the car was still in tear-​down. By the time it was finally finished on the following Tuesday, the license plate and front emblem had not been re-​installed. In addition, I had three warning lights lit up on my dash that were not on when I dropped the car off.
I talked with JP and coordinated a time to come back for all three items (license plate, emblem, dash lights). I was told it would be a 30 – 40 minute visit — which it was. Unfortunately, that time frame apparently did not include anyone even thinking about looking at my dash lights. Given my schedule, I couldn’t wait around any longer so I asked JP to give me a call back with a separate, unrelated estimate, as well as a time I could come by to get the dash light issue fixed. Over the next three weeks, I had absolutely no communication from DMI.
At that point, I had my mechanic look at the dash lights (at my expense) and let JP know what their findings were (wheel speed sensor was bad, likely damaged while the front fender liner was being repaired). Since then (it’s been another 3 weeks), I have received nothing but the run-​around from JP, culminating in his last email to me insinuating that I am less than trust worthy regarding when the dash lights first lit up.
There are more details to this nightmare, to be sure, but in the interest of time, let me just strongly warn you against using DMI. The communication is horrible so if you use them, you’ll have to proactively follow-​up to get any kind of status. And they clearly don’t take ownership of any issues their technicians may cause. Based on my first experience, I assume they usually do good work and nothing breaks. If you’re one of the lucky ones who runs into a problem though, beware. You’re probably in for a bumpy ride.
Incidentally, despite the fact that I mentioned it several times even before this situation deteriorated to the current mess, not once did JP or anyone on his staff apologize for the poor communication. Just more reason to think that the customer is ultimately not the top priority for this shop.

A year and a half ago I brought my 2010 4 Runner in to get fixed from damage sustained in a major hail storm with golf ball to baseball sized hail. In their defense the vehicle did have major damage over most of the body panels that needed to be repaired, so I honestly didn’t expect things to be 100% right away.
I dropped off the vehicle for the work to be done which amounted to ~$ 10-​$ 11k worth of work. When I came back to pick it up is when the troubles began…
First I noticed that there were several fasteners missing from the internal ceiling area. An area on the rear bumper where a tree branch had fallen and cracked it had simply not even been fixed. The sunroof simply didn’t work (granted the roof was replaced, but this would have been the first thing that I would have tested). The internal ceiling was very dirty (black smudges), there was overspray all over the inside of the windshield etc. etc. etc.
I took it back in to be fixed. Waited yet another couple of weeks and got it back. The sunroof had been fixed, however the bumper had been fixed in a very shoddy fashion which only held for roughly a couple of days. Additionally my vehicle had scratches on it that weren’t there when I brought it in. It still was missing a finishing rubber strip along the upper windshield, and had some other paint issues.
I brought it back in, and yet again waited another couple of weeks. This time when I picked it up it had a small discoloration above the drivers side door in the paint (previously not there) where water beaded funny, the passenger side window glass was scratched, the bumper still hadn’t been fixed properly, etc. etc. etc.
When I brought up the spot in the paint the owner argued with me that they couldn’t have possibly done that because they didn’t *paint* that area. Keep in mind this vehicle was ~1 yr old at this point in time. I was later told by the manager there that the spot was a burn through in the clear coat caused during the buffing process (that they did perform there).
After I got that spot fixed (and once again tried to have them properly fix the bumper) I still was not happy with the job, however it seemed that every time that I brought my vehicle back, the result was that additional scratches etc. were present when I got it back and the issues that were supposed to be fixed were only kind of fixed.
After having the vehicle for a cumulative 2+ months, they still hadn’t done a satisfactory job. In fact the poor paint job was pointed out by another local body shop when I took it in a couple of months later after someone had dropped something on it in a parking lot… that body shop properly fixed the area for me.
I would by no means ever suggest that anyone take a vehicle here. My experience was an absolute nightmare and headache (for quite a long period of time). I understand that for extensive body work jobs it can be difficult to get everything right the first time, but 4 times should have been more than enough… not to mention the owner actually trying to pass off damage that they created as pre-​existing. Avoid this place and go somewhere else.
