Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy (CMCA) is a tuition-free K-12 public charter school in Colorado Springs. We specialize in classical education based upon the Core Knowledge ® sequence in grade K-8 and a college preparatory curriculum based on the Hillsdale Academy Curriculum Guide ® in grades 9 – 12. CMCA was founded in 1995 by several parents looking for a more rigorous school curriculum. The high school, named The Vanguard School, was added as an extension to the school in 2006. The first graduating class of 28 students in 2010 earned more than $ 3 million in college scholarships. The mission of Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy and The Vanguard School is to help guide students in the development of their character and academic potential through academically rigorous content-rich educational programs.

Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy is a public, K-12 charter school located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Founded in 1995 by several parents interested in a more rigorous academic curriculum, CMCA continues to provide excellence in education in a safe, structured environment by adhering to its mission statement.
The K-6 program is chartered with Cheyenne Mountain School District 12, and The Vanguard School (grades 7 – 12) is chartered with the Colorado Charter School Institute. As a District 12 school, residents of Cheyenne Mountain District 12 have priority to attend CMCA in kindergarten through sixth grade. District 12 students account for approximately 20% of CMCA’s student population. The remaining students are from 17 other school districts in the Pikes Peak region.
