All Breed Rescue & Training

After leaving poor reviews regarding my horrible experiences with other rescues, I felt the need to balance things out with my positive experience with All Breed. I haven’t found a dog yet, but it has been a pleasure keeping in touch with All Breed’s Rescue Director, who has gone above and beyond helping me to find a good match. Even if I wind up obtaining a dog outside their rescue, I plan to sign up for their training programs to train my future dog into being an awesome Canine Good Citizen and perhaps beyond that for service dog related work. I’m glad there’s a rescue out there that doesn’t treat humans like criminals, and even go so far as to offer much needed training courses to help pet owners take better care of their dogs in a positive way. Attended puppy training orientation for dogs under 20 weeks last night. I was totally impressed with the trainer, orientation, program’s advocacy, and with the classes offered by this rescue training. Can’t wait to see my dog’s transformation! Stay tuned…

I had heard of positive reinforcement training before coming to all breed, but I had no idea the impact it would have on my life, and my dogs. I had gone to a big box store for my 3 year olds training and really didn’t learn much about rewarding behaviors you wanted, and only really knew to reward the behaviors I asked for. I ended up w a crazy 50lb dog with no impulse control, and who had a jumping problem. I just assumed that’s what happy dogs do, boy was I WRONG! I got a puppy and went with all breed this time, and the difference shows! And through the hard work and dedication of all the wonderful trainers and behaviorist here my oldest is no longer jumpy, and she is much calmer. I couldn’t be happier, or recommend this place enough! They know their stuff and will NEVER ask you to hurt your relationship with your pup!

So far, my experience with ABRT has been great for helping us get a handle on our very hyper and smart Boston Terrier mix.
We’re halfway through the Neo-​dog training with her and have already seen great improvements in her ability to sit immediately, come when called and wait before she just snipes food off the floor.
I am so happy that their positive style of training is effective. I am learning how my dog thinks and how I can really connect with her.

Military Families Beware!!! A friend had recommended ABRT to us after we decided to look for a new member of our family. We were looking for a dog that was already trained on a leash and the only make or break for us was no biting because we have a small child in the house. We found what we thought would be a great fit for our family so we contacted them. They let us know that this dog had been adopted and while there was a 10 day trial period for the new owner even then we would be put on a list and those on the list would be contacted in the order they had applied. After a week or so we figured the new owner would not want to give up this pup. We did a trail adoption with another dog through a local agency but she began to bite hard and frequently. We had decided she was not the right fit for our family and schedule to return her to this other organization during our trail period over the weekend. During this time the original Dog we wanted to adopt with ABRT became available. We went for a play date and after explained what had happened with our first adoption and how we had been misled during the process about how the dog we tried to adopt was with children and biting. Obviously we wanted to be very sure we didn’t put ourselves or another animal in this position again.
After our play date they called us to inform us that regardless of the situation they would not adopt to us because the first dog we took for a trial period didn’t work out. I explained that it was a safety concern for our child. The dog’s foster parent said maybe there was some confusion and she would contact them. She later came back saying that they do not adopt breeds that are restricted on Military bases to Military families. After explaining that we do not live on base she again waited and called me back saying they had 4 cases in 5 years of soldiers becoming divorced and returning dogs so they could live on base. While I explained that, that was likely the Soldiers personal choice they still refused to adopt us this dog or any dog. Instead offering to help train the previous dog that was biting. We did not want to chance anyone getting hurt and had already terminated that adoption process. Perhaps I miss understood what the word «trial» means? While I understand that everyone (including us) wants the animals to be in their forever home which is what we had intended. I do not think it was okay to endanger my 3 year old step son in the process. Perhaps these trainers or adoption board members do not have any children. I also found it insulting that they were lumping all military families together!

We took our boys here for an evaluation. It was recommended that we begin training and also utilize doggie day care for our puppy. Caboose is a handful. Our trainer was Miguel. Miguel uses a seven week course, it meets for one hour during the week. I am amazed at the difference between when Caboose started and where he was at the end of the course. The amount that we paid paled in comparison to the training we received. Miguel is a very patient trainer. The staff is difficult at times to get in touch with, but it is well worth the wait.

We take our puppy here for Puppy Elementary. He does really well and the teacher Miguel is really cool. You do have to train the dog outside of class to be sucessful.
