Brow Art 23

I’ve been having my brows threaded for years, and I like it much better than waxing. So when I saw a Groupon Daily Deal — three eyebrow threading sessions for $ 10 — at this place, I stupidly bought it, even though I’d never been to a Brow Art 23. WORST DECISION EVER. The technician was on the phone having a personal conversation when I got there. Rather than hanging up, she moved the phone away from her mouth to ask what I wanted. I explained about the Groupon, so she took my phone to get the information and told me to have a seat. Before she even started the threading, a soldier from nearby Fort Lee came up to the counter and started flirting with her. She didn’t remember who he was, even when he told her she’d done his eyebrows, but she flirted back literally the entire time I was there.
In my long experience with eyebrow threading, the threads should never touch the skin, and the hairs are pulled out individually. The tech yanked out whole patches of hairs at once, which is extremely painful, and rested the threads directly on my skin the whole time, sawing them back and forth. When my eyes started to water copiously because of the pain, the soldier commented mockingly on it, yet she still didn’t ask him to leave and come back when she was no longer working. She never spoke directly to me after the soldier arrived, even when she was finished — just handed me the mirror while she continued her banter with him. I left with abrasions all around my eyebrows. Later, after I washed my face at home, there were actual blisters and visible spots of blood.
If I had to choose between burning my eyebrows off with a blowtorch or going back to this place, I’d opt for the blowtorch.
