It literally hasn’t even been a full week since I stopped by to place the order on the cleaning and restoration of the headstone of a good friend of ours as a surprise. They told me it could take 4 – 6 weeks but they’ll do their best to have it done by a certain date. Not ONLY did they complete the job, they kept in touch via email and sent a picture of the finished work and I am in total awe. The headstone is absolutely beautiful. I cannot say enough — if you want top quality work handled by the best staff in the industry with attention to detail, total professionalism and a lot of personal touch, go to V. Fonanta. I am totally agreed that Phi, is an extremely talented artist. In addition, Phi’s professional experience and excellent service really makes difference. We know what we are getting when the time we work out from his office. I am sure my Mom’s monument will be as perfect as what we expected with Phi’s help. I will write to tell everybody after the job is completed. I can’t wait to tell people who need the service should go to V. Fontana. You will not regret to get the last thing done for you loved one with such excellent people.
We are referred to contact Phi for my Mom’s monument. We went to meet Phi in his office for the appointment. We have no experience and have no idea what the layout will be looked like after transferred to the stone. Phi was working with us very patiently. Phi spent the time to modify the flower and explained the points that we need to pay attention to. Most important, he is very thoroughly. The horrible erroneous picture would never be found out without his help. We are really appreciated all of these.

During the processing of my Mom’s monument, there is technical difficulty from the other vendor who is part of the project. The ladies in the office are very patient, tried their best to help in order to overcome this problem. They are always work on our best interest including the owner, Mr. Fontana. We are so thankful for all these customer services and attitude.
We feel big relieve after seeing the monument installed. It is elegant and presentable. It came out as what we have been told and expected. It shows our respects to my Mom. To have a good job done on my Mom’s monument means a lot to us. I am sure they fully understand this and provide the excellent services that you cannot find online.

I can’t recommend this place highly enough. First of all, its location is ideal for someone who doesn’t drive because they are adjacent to the Colma Bart Station. Secondly, Cynthia was so professional and courteous and welcoming to me especially since this was my last thing I had to do for my mom who had passed away 3 weeks ago. Cynthia was very patient and showed me the different markers available (they have a viewing area outside the office of the different headstones and monument markers) and the wide assortment of designs for the monument. I already had in mine what I wanted but she made it so much easier to finalize the selection. In addition, their fees were very reasonable which for me was a plus since I was on a tight budget. I wanted a marker in time for her birthday in June and a week later I received a proof from the designer, which was exactly how I wanted it to look and on top of that, they were going to be able to have it at Holy Cross in time for her birthday in early June. I was extremely pleased with the services provided by Cynthia and everyone at V Fontana.

This family business is all about class, quality and service. I cannot say enough positive things about them. From the moment I walked in the front door, I was greeted with kindness and professionalism. They know what they are doing and they care about the quality of their work. They also want you to be happy with the end result, so they take the time to get to know you so they can help you come up with a unique and personal memorial.
The service they offer is very different from the online vendors or other local businesses who are willing to sell you a stone but have nowhere near the customer service. I received an initial sample and quote within 24 hours of my first visit. I then met with the designer, Phil, who is an extremely talented artisan! This guy knows what he is doing and his attention to detail is phenomenal! I was amazed at the beautiful stones he creates!
I never felt they were trying to sell me anything at all– they just wanted me to be happy with what I chose. I would recommend them to anyone needing their services without hesitation. I feel their prices are very reasonable and the end result is an amazingly classy and beautiful tribute to your loved one.

I first approached V. Fontana shortly after my brothers passing, they were closed at the time but their front area was open so you could browse grave markers after hours. We were there a good 10 minutes when the owner Mark noticed we were outside and let us in. We talked about how we would go about designing it and he was extremely helpful. Thankfully, we were able to process the entire transaction through emails. About a week later my husband designed the grave marker himself and I emailed it to V. Fontana on a Friday night. By Monday morning I already received their invoice in the mail and paid for it over the phone the next day. Within the week they emailed me the proof of how the actual grave marker would look and let me know it would be delivered to the cemetery in a couple weeks, right before Memorial Day weekend. I was shocked, I was always under the impression that it took 6 – 8 weeks for custom made grave markers! The day after the cemetery installed it, I drove all the way to the bay area to check it out. My first initial reaction was «WOW! That is sooo badass!» Then I was so overwhelmed by how great it looked that I just started crying out of no where because I knew that my brother would have approved. It turned out exactly the way my husband wanted, he was afraid they were only going to paint the logo white instead of carving it in and then painting it. and compared to all the ones in the cemetery, his really stands out! It turned out absolutely perfect, but I knew it would since V. Fontana has been around forever and they know what they’re doing.
