Low Arts Tea Haven

I tried to go here last week and it’s closed. The red awning is still there, but now it’s a store that sells oils.

I don’t drink much tea but when I do I get it from here. They let you try a bunch of different teas before you buy anything. And the prices are very good. I love the atmosphere because it is so chill and relaxing. The staff is incredibly friendly an knowledgeable about tea.

My morning ritual = cup of tea. It doesn’t matter if it is a million degrees out… I still need that hot tea to get going.
If I lived in Collierville, I would be here daily, but alas, I live too far away. I had read the wonderful reviews and when I was finally in the area, I decided to make a quick stop and check off another business from my bookmark list.
This place is adorable (and independently owned). The server could not have been nicer and gave us the complete rundown of what types of tea they have, how it works, their classes, everything. You can smell their tea options and they have them marked in categories.
I opted for the tea that gives you energy, and since we decided to drink our tea there, she brought it to us on the cutest tray. I love small touches that make the experience even more special.
They sell a million teapots, which are the decoration for the store, and I was thrilled to buy one that goes perfectly in my kitchen. It even came with a little warmer that has a place for a tea light — precious.
They also have a few baked goods if you would like a snack.
If you are in the area, make this place your new hangout. And if you live far away, it is definitely worth the drive once in awhile!

This place has tons of loose tea, many many flavors and styles, baked snacks, and mixed tea drinks to go.
I really love this small shop. I exclusively get all of my tea here now. Their staff is always kind and willing to explain anything. There are places to sit but it’s a small place so it can get full very fast. It can also be confusing if there are a lot of people waiting. The line isn’t very clearly delineated. However it’s definitely worth any first time confusion. They have tasty tea and baked goods available to eat in the store or to take home. You can get small or large pots of tea served to you while you sit or you can order tea lattes and such to go. My only downside is the bit of confusion when you first walk in. Definitely going back though.

I hate to be negative about a small business. I really wanted to like this place. I reeeally did.
But it just didn’t measure up to my expectations. The tea was not bad. The selection is pretty good. But they don’t do any sort of tea latte with actual foam. They have a «version» of the tea latte that’s just whipped cream and tea. I know tea latte’s are not the soul of tea, but they are a very fast growing phenomenon that I think any respectable tea house should know is important enough to go to the trouble.
When I went here, it was my little sister’s first time trying tea, and we got her an Earl Grey «latte.» I really thought this would be enough to turn her into a tea lover, but she wouldn’t even drink it. Albeit, my sister is picky, but when I lived in California, I had a London Fog from a place called The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf that blew me away; it was like biting into one of the Earl Grey shortbread cookies I make but ten times better, and had this been the case at this shop, I think my sister would’ve been converted.
I also really don’t like the layout or the décor. There isn’t enough seating and the whole thing lacks function. The counter is very poorly designed for showing off the wares. In fact, it looks more like a desk than anything else. Its all very cluttered.
I tried the signature banana cake with raspberry filling, and as beautiful as it was, it was a disappointment to taste. Not very banana-​y and with a texture more like a scone. It was kind of chewy and too thick with more raspberry flavor than anything else.
The whole thing was just very kitchy, like someone was trying to marry their love of yoga and the earth and turn it into a functioning business. I probably won’t go back since I’d rather just get a tea from starbucks than deal with the disorganization of Low Arts.

How have I been in Collierville for over a year and not known this place existed.
I always disliked going in to Teavana because they are pushy about getting you to buy stuff.
Not this place. There are several comfy chairs and tea warmers (yes, my husband did have to tell me what a tea light was actually for) so you can sit and enjoy a pot of tea and a little snack.
There are several blends of tea and sample containers so you can smell each blend before deciding what you want to get. You can get a cup to go or sit and enjoy a pot of tea while sitting in some very comfy chairs.

Yes, I am giving this place five stars, not just because tea shops independently owned by tea lovers are hard to come by, but also because, as I am typing this at home, I am sipping a cup of their Peach Oolong tea so smooth, soothing and aromatic that I think its purveyor merits five stars.
Had not been for Unilocal,I would not have known about this new tea shop located in my favorite shopping mall in the Memphis area — the Avenue Carriage Crossing. A Living Social coupon was just the final little push I needed to make the 20-​mile drive from Midtown to check out this place.
It’s a cozy little place with different sitting arrangements, not unlike your favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Yet the offerings of tea are surprisingly large. I decided to give Matcha (Japanese fine powder green tea) a try since I only had it in desserts before (green tea ice cream anyone?). With a slice of flourless chocolate cake on the side, I think I almost recreated an amazing dessert I had in NYC: Chocolate Green Tea Lava. Then I had a pot of the Chocolate Chai Rooibos, an herbal tea with an interesting blend of flavors. If you are used to the Chai Latte from Starbucks like I am, this is nothing like it. The tea lady, Maureen, knows what she is doing yet remains very humble (hence the name Low Arts?). Had my pride not gotten in the way, I would have trusted her with my tea and dessert pairing.
I was pleasantly surprised to see pictures of Side Street Steppers performing in house, whose performance was a treat for me at the Cooper Young Festival a few weeks ago. For a second I wish I had not moved 20 mile away.
Did I mention their banana cake made with whole wheat flour was surprisingly good?

I love this place! Such a unique place with a nice warm cozy atmosphere! If u aren’t a tea drinker, this place may just change your mind. It has everything you’ve ever wanted in a tea and more. Over 60 flavors of drinks and you choose whether it’s hot or iced. Free wi-​fi and the customer service just add to the experience. I work in the mall and loving going there on my breaks. So relaxing!

I love loose tea that comes in an array of flavors and uses natural ingredients. I was/​am a fan of Teavana, but I’m pleased to write that I am an even bigger fan, now, of Low Arts Tea Haven in the Carriage Crossing mall.
I walked in on a whim, as they had a tasty sample outside. Inside, it’s a lot of Earth tones and a relaxing environment to sample many different flavors of tea. You can have a brewed pot there, or you can take a couple of ounces home.
What I really like about this store versus Teavana is that there are little jars that you can pick up and smell. There is no long speech unless asked about each tea, instead there’s a menu that tells you much about the teas and their properties. There are some stools near the register and a nice couch-​filled seating area to relax.
I settled on Cucumber Mojito green tea. Wow. It’s really good — I had it on ice there with a little sprig of mint and dash of sugar, and just had a hot cup here at home. Great both ways and it can be re-​steeped. Tasted fresh, minty, and citrusy. A good refresh/​renew type of a tea. Was $ 6 for two ounces, full of chunks of citrus and high-​quality green tea. Apparently it can also be made into a mocktail. I got the feeling, based on listening to the woman behind the counter speak to another customer who was asking questions, that she is well-​versed on tea properties and where/​how they’re sourced. I will be back — the little brown bags will make nice gifts for my friends around the holidays.
They are gracious, helpful, and quick when it comes to feedback regarding their business — that gets five stars from me.
