I absolutely hated this place. The food was overpriced and tasteless. My mother also had terrible experiences here as well. I am not sorry to see it go.

PD and I ate out there last weekend. The restaurant is in the end of a strip mall in Collierville along Poplar. The service was trying very hard, but just didn’t seem comfortable. Also the ambiance is again not comfortable. It just doesn’t seem to come together. However the food was really good. We started of by sharing three appetizers and all three of them were good. The mozzarella sticks were a bit on the thin side. Both of us really enjoyed our main meals. I had the Lasagna, but it had braised beef inside rather than ground beef. It made for a very tasty dish, although very filling. Prices were reasonable, especially since they accepted our Groupon without any issues at all.

If I could rank a business lower than one star, this might be the first I’d consider. I wish I could comment on the atmosphere at Fino Villa. I wish I could comment on the food at Fino Villa. I wish I could comment on the server’s attentiveness or lack thereof at Fino Villa. Actually… I really wish I had never walked in the door of the establishment. Having never tried this little restaurant just around the corner from home, I thought I would give it a shot when I saw an online deal listed on WREG’s deal page. I purchased two $ 25 gift certificates and was somewhat looking forward to trying it out. My husband and I eat out fairly regularly and prefer locally owned establishments over chain restaurants.(As a former coffee shop owner– I know it’s hard to establish your place in a community with the big bucks coffee shops everywhere.) And using a «deal» offering, it brings the price down enough for us to try lots of new places. We were walking into the restaurant and noticed a sign on the door indicating that they were not accepting the type of certificate that I had purchased. Since there was someone standing at the hostess stand I walked in to ask why. Apparently, this was not simply an employee, but one of the owners. I would mention her by name but she never introduced herself. She quickly and very abruptly explained that they had not authorized the coupons to be printed and refused to honor them«because that would be like us just giving away $ 50». No apologies were made– she stopped long enough to stare at us for a long minute. I wear a business suit daily, but after hours you are likely to find me in more casual attire. Hmmm… did we not«measure up» because we had on khakis? She went on to say that they spoke to WREG and were told it was authorized but since no one spoke to her or her husband WREG must be lying. I said, «So a well known business just picked you randomly to try to sell bogus certificates?» She said in a dismissive manner that we would have to contact them for a refund. So we walked out the door and will never return. Other possible ways that it could have been handled… well… as a former business owner I would have probably taken it up with WREG rather than drive away potential customers as they walk in the door. Or possibly made a conciliatory gesture while apologizing… Fino Villa really can’t accept the voucher since we haven’t been paid for it, but we’ve recently run an ad on Groupon. We could offer you that deal. Or… we’re sorry for the inconvenience, but can we offer you an appetizer while you look at the menu? Again, because of the treatment we received… you’ve lost our business forever. Now… statistically I’m supposed to be telling ten friends about my unsatisfactory experience at Fino Villa. I think I’ve only told 6 at the office at lunch, so I’d better get busy! 2−21−13 Fortunately, I have been assisted by the company that produced the certificates– NOT Fino Villa and NOTWREG. I had to mail Incentrev the unused certificates and I was able to exchange them for another restaurant. Luckily, it’s one that we frequent and we know will treat us more like a customer and less like a CRIMINAL! :-)

One star is generous! Took the family to Fino Villa for dinner last night. When there was hair on the appetizer tray we should have gotten up and walked out. After I pointed it out the waiter took the plate and turned it over above the table. Probably out of ignorance than intent. We ordered apetizers that were ok. the waiter delivered our main course before apetizer plates and trays were cleared. The same waiter went back for the balance of the main course dishes without taking some of the apetizer dishes with him after he realized there was clearly a plate traffic jam. My wife’s calzone was delivered with a black bottom. We surmised it had been cooked earlier and warmed up. The inside was less than luke warm. My daughter’s pizza was poor at best. We felt we had tasted better take home pizza from Costco. We were not sure it was made fresh. While ordering my ravioli I asked the waiter to describe the portion size. He was unable to do so. I ordered the small portion. Glad I did. It was 4 of the most plain tasting ravioli I have ever eaten. My son was thrilled with his spaghetti and meatballs. He loves plain spaghetti. At the end of the evening we all felt we would have had better food, waiters, and a better value at Olive Garden. I had noticed FV had been a regular on groupon. My guess is it was a last ditch effort to get new clientele. We missed the groupon special. Even at 50% off we would have felt let down.

I ate dinner here tonight and was pretty impressed with this place. I don’t journey to Collierville too often since it is a whopping 40 minutes drive in traffic, but it is nice to know there are places like this out there(there being Collierville). The food was good(meat lovers pizza), the waiter was nice, and the prices were reasonable — so why am I only giving it 3 stars? It didn’t wow me… it was just ok. A safe bet definitely, but there wasn’t a wow factor for me. The experience was similar to an upscale chain. There was nothing to make it stand out or be memorable… but I’d definitely eat there again.

I think people get desperate for anything other than BBQ in the mid south. The food was ok, definitely not worth the price. Nice atmosphere, young poorly trained staff, they try hard but they seem overworked resulting in not so great service. Like I said, it all depends on how desperate you are to eat at an Italian restaurant! I would prefer to stay home and boil a bag of Buitoni ravioli.

My parents were visiting so we took them to dinner here it was also our first visit since we are new to the area. The place was well decorated and clean. The staff was warm and welcoming. The food was very good however the portions are very small. I had a small portion of lobster ravioli for $ 17 and there were only 3 raviolis my husband had the large portion for $ 22 and there were only 5 ravioli — needless to say they served excellent complimentary bread with the meal which you better take advantage of when offered.

We have been searching for a good authentic Italian restaurant since we moved to this area 3 years ago. We finally found it at Fino Villa. I grew up in the NYC area, so I am pretty discriminating when it comes to Italian. My gauge always included the egglpant parmesan, which was divine. My husband had the Carni Canneloni, also delicious. The service was excellent! They didn’t hover, but were there when you needed something. The food arrived hot & delicious. I would like to have seen something lighter on the dessert menu, like berries in zabaglione. And I was surprised to learn that they didn’t serve espresso, but otherwise a wonderful evening meal! Give it a try. You won’t be sorry.

Everytime we have been to Fino Villa the food has been wonderful. There are very few restaurants around that I can truly say have excellent food — some have good food and some okay, but Fino Villa never fails to impress.

Pasta, pasta, pasta… it is delightful, creamy and light. The appetizer was a sheet of pasta rolled around prosciutto and mascarpone cheese. It was heavenly — Rosetti I believe. We had chicken Alfredo(picky eater, he loved it), chicken piccata(not on menu but they prepared), Mahi-Mahi with habanero cream sauce and spinach, and whatever I had with pasta and shrimp(can’t remember name but it was great). We all had tiramisu for dessert and it did not disappoint. Will definitely be back. Great place for dinner meetings, wedding rehearsal dinners, or just a quaint meal for you and your loved one.

Fino Villa is under-appreciated in Collierville. The food is very good, and the prices are quite reasonable. I think between the name and the décor many are turned off thinking it’s stuffy and upscale, but that’s a wrong impression. Business casual attire is fine, and it’s easy to get a meal for under $ 15 at lunch. It’s not really any more expensive than most other sit down options in the area. There seems to be a lack of Italian in this area, with Russo’s being the only other near option. Compared to Russo’s Fino Villa is much more sedate, and somewhat less kid-friendly. However, the result is that you never get the long waits to be seated, and the place is much more quite, so if you don’t have children to take along it’s a much better option!

Located in a shopping center in the heart of Collierville, Fino Villa is more than your average Italian restaurant. Yes, they have some great traditional dishes like Lasagna and Spaghetti with Meatballs. And they are very good too, by the way. But they also offer dishes that I really enjoy. Such as the Pan seared Sea Bass in a Basil-Habanero Cream sauce, served with sautéed Spinach. It’s a fabulous combination of flavors. And their Lobster Ravioli is suburb. And you know what else they have on the menu that you totally wouldn’t expect to see? She Crab Soup. Yeah — I know. Low country food at an Italian restaurant. But it’s excellent. So be sure and try it if you go.
