Good steaks, but if your just wanting to watch a game and have a couple drinks and bar grub this isn’t the place unfortunately. Whats a shame is the bar area is well suited for game watching, plenty of space, plenty of TV’s.

First time here for lunch meeting. Nobody was hardly here during lunch so really great for meetup. There was not a lunch menu so regular menu priced is expensive. Thanks to the Unilocal review I got the avocado crab salad appetizer. Mainly a mound of avacado, tomatoes and crab meat. It was a huge portion so great for sharing. It would have been better with butter lettuce to make into sald wraps or crackers. It was $ 20 so that was my «entrée». We shared the tuna tostada which was 4 pieces of fried crispy tostado with tuna and alfalfa sprouts and sauce. It was really huge portions and done well. I may eat light lunch but gotta make room for dessert: ended up ordering the blueberry shortcake over he smores. The blueberry shortcake was more of sliced pouncake with a honey syrup. It was too sweet with on its own without the extra syrup. Their desserts are $ 8 whcih is on the expensive end in my opinion. Also got the chocolatw cake to go. The small slice was smaller than was pictured in Unilocal. For $ 8 it was not that memorable. Would rather stick with Trulucks cake with malt frosting. I would not come here for a regular lunch since kinda pricey. There are plenty of other places with similar menu items at fraction of the price. But the tuna was executed well.

I give JR’S Steak House five stars! My husband and I hosted a rehearsal dinner for forty-three people on a Friday evening. I came at 4 pm. to decorate and the wait staff helped unload my car! They were attentive to my every need. They offered us water and drinks. Made sure I was happy with the setup of the room. We had a three course dinner with appetizers. Everything was hot and delicious. Timing was important and they worked so well with me! Johnny the owner came twice to check on our experience. I told him how awesome his staff was that evening. If you have a special occasion please consider them for a flawless evening! Thank you again!

Mediocre, overpriced steakhouse. Not terrible but wouldn’t go back. $ 130 for two with no alcohol.

Smoked wings and a JR’s salad EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Never disappoints! Never. We enjoy stopping in after a long day,(or maybe after a short day — LOL) and sitting in the bar area at a table and having a cold beer and a bite to eat. The atmosphere is comfortable and very welcoming. Chow!

I have eaten a number of times at JR throughout it’s transition from an upscale steakhouse to the bar and grill format. The old format steakhouse was very expensive and very tasty. Much like a Bob’s Steak and Chop. For about a year JR’s did a Sunday brunch, but this, as I understand it, has stopped. Breakfast was very good, varied choices, not terribly expensive, and a lot of food. The Bar/Grill format can be sort of hit-or-miss. My latest dinner, from the less-expensive side of the menu, was mostly miss. –The bar drinks were perfect. –The calamari appetizer has turned into some sort of funnel cake-like offering and was almost inedible. Mostly stayed on the plate after a few bites. –The burger was good but sat in the kitchen for so long the bottom bun was a wet mess. I hate it when that happens. The fries, however, were fab. –The flatbread was, well, flat bread. Floppy, not crisp. Again, mostly uneaten. JR’s can sometimes be very, very good. And then sometimes not so good.

Started with the tuna tostado very nice. I had the 6oz filet med rare. It was cooked perfectly. So good! We had the NY cheesecake for dessert. Wow! Great service. Super friendly and attentive!

Best happy hour we’ve found in the Mid-Cities. Great prices, and the smoked wings are fantastic.

All of my stars are going to the awesome, cannot be beat lunch special! I have been here for dinner which is really good, your typical top steak house. So that’s all great, but what’s memorable for my stomach and my wallet is the lunch. You can get their regular dinner sandwiches ½ price on the lunch menu, including burgers, chicken, and turkey BLT’s for less then $ 10! I always get the burger, that is huge and comes with TONS of prime cut seasoned bacon. French fries on the side or your choice of any side to go with. These burgers are usually $ 20 on the dinner menu, and to be honest they’re worth that! I believe this deal in only Monday-Friday, and it’s always packed in the bar with white collared businessmen. If you want to impress clients with a 5-star steak house burger, you can do it here and not break the bank. Did I mention how much bacon they put on your burger… You have to see to believe! The bar has lots of booths so you don’t actually need to be sitting up at the bar. I took a star off for one bartender(woman) who was rude to another waiter in front of us all. It’s tacky to use your seniority to scold colleagues in front of guests. It’s just lunch and everyone’s paying ½ price! Two thumbs up. I could be served by scary clowns and been happy with this deal!

A bit pricey. But the food was very good. I had the steak and lobster with the filet Oscar style. The lobster was tender and delicious and the filet was perfect. Again, it was a bit overpriced… but I suppose I would go again for drinks and appetizers. They have good service. But I would have rather gone to Capital Grille or Ruth’s Chris for the money I spent.

Took my son here for a nice mom and son evening. Have not been to JR’s in a long time. The service was nice, but I have to say, there are better steakhouses in the area. The interior looks outdated and old. The wine list is pretty decent with a large selection. We ordered calamari as a starter, and also placed an order for caesar salad and our steaks at the same time. I was a little miffed that our salad came out first. The calamari was strange. It was calamari steaks, and the breading was similar to what is on fish and chips. It was drizzled with two sauces, an aioli and a tomato-based sauce. Neither of us were a fan. I ordered the 6 ounce filet and my son ordered the peppered filet. All steaks are served with a smashed potato side dish. Our steaks were cooked to our request. The smashed potatoes were also nice. All in all, it was ok. Nothing spectacular. For the price, I wanted to leave feeling, «wow.» Have to say, nothing wowed me.

BEWARE the portions can be big on some of the menu items. Service was not great this day but I do think the young man serving us was new. Food was good. I ordered bacon cheeseburger based on the recommendation of others in my party(I was supposed to get a salad but honestly I didn’t like the salad options), they forgot the bacon. :-(It was supposed to be loaded with bacon according to the people in my party. Everyone enjoyed their food however. Oh, btw, it’s not a cheap place for lunch.

Called and spoke to the manager about setting up my Mom’s 70th birthday party and they were more than accommodating. Had a party of 30 with some video feeds and they set everything up and even set a special menu for us. The food was extremely good and the wait staff was more than awesome. I truly would recommend this place to anyone!!!

Why have I waited so long to try JR’s? Our recent evening dining here was a wonderful and special treat. We arrived on the late side to find the restaurant hopping with happy diners who seemed to be a mix of business types as well as couples out for a special evening. We were quickly seated and greeted with a friendly and obviously professional server who treated us well throughout the evening. Our request to share menu items was accommodated as easily as if that is what everyone does, and we were both more than full after sharing our choices. The food? Delicious. Rich. We preceded the entrée with a very good Caesar salad. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly to our taste and full of flavor as were the smashed potatoes served with the steak — a special yum for the potatoes! And the cheesecake brought out as a surprise for my special day was a special treat. We will definitely return.

I have had lunch only. Got the pepper crusted filet both times. The filet was one of the best in town. Put that with the amazing smashed potatoes and it’s a winner. Going back this Sat for dinner with a customer. Hope steaks are consistently good; the key to a good steakhouse. I will have s follow up review on Sunday. Sunday was disappointing!

Was in town from Cleveland, Unilocaled, and found JR’s. All I wanted was a good steak. The $ 42 strip was excellent! Better than the $ 50 one in Fairlawn, OH last week. It’s a bit of a sports bar so if you looking for an intimate setting, thinking that you’re going to get laid later, better make sure she’s a sport. But if she’s a steak lover, your golden.

Popped in to JR’s for a late Sunday afternoon lunch. We were big fans of the grill in its original location but haven’t been in for a meal since the consolidation of the grill with the steak house. We decided to eat at the bar and get a feel for the atmosphere. The bar tender, Glen, was very friendly and on top of everything. The bar is pretty and comfortable with well placed televisions — thumbs up! I had been craving chicken fried steak and decided to give theirs a try. My husband ordered the Swiss Mushroom burger and fries. First I must say, the chicken fry portion is huge. It literally covered the platter(placed on the plate over the dish of smashed potatoes). Speaking of the Smashed Potatoes; very yummy! Unfortunately the chicken fry was mediocre. The breading was nice and golden but the steak(and gravy) as a whole was under seasoned. My husband said his burger and fries were good. No complaints there. The brunch menu looks nice and offers $ 2 Mimosas. We will definitely go back and give it a try.

Talk about some amazing food with a classic yet eclectic interior. We had the date night special which consisted of a 6 ounce filet and 16 ounce ribeye, 2 salads, and a side… We got the loaded baked potatoes. There was also bread that came out which we didn’t even get a chance to touch. The steak was seasoned to perfection and the baked Potato was colossal in size. The salad was one of the tastiest that I’ve had. I’d give the dinner a 4.5. I tried the JRs Margarita and this is one heck of a twist on a Margarita. It had the consistency of a smoothie almost & was sheer perfection! One of the best Margaritas I’ve had for sure. For dessert we shared a delectable slice of cheesecake, it was good but probably the only mediocre item out of the entire meal. The reason this review got 4 stars instead of 5 is because our waiters attitude was horrific. At one point I caught him rolling his eyes at my friend. He was very defensive, short and clearly was having an off day. We all have our bad days so we just let it slide because we were having such a grand time. The date night special is $ 80 and is a great deal for 2. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I was a HUGE fan of old JR’s, but I have to admit that I was more of a «drinks and appetizers at the bar» type than a dining room patron. Granted, I was there for drinks and appetizers a lot. So much so that when I walked in, Kevin would just walk over to me with my signature drink in hand. So much so that I know that Kevin’s name is Kevin. I really adored the old JR’s, and was filled with trepidation over the merger with JR’s Grill. We tried out the new JR’s Steakhouse and Grill last weekend, and I am cautiously optimistic. The renovation was beautifully done, and now the atmosphere is upscale casual. Most of the menu options from both restaurants has been incorporated into the new menu, and it looks like prices have come down on some of their old steakhouse options. The new JR’s seems more kid friendly, and there were definitely a lot of families there trying out the place. The food was wonderful, as always. My husband ordered the salmon, I opted for a burger, and our son got the chicken nuggets with fries. Everything was hot when it arrived at the table. The service was a little slow, but I have to believe that is attributable to this being opening weekend with a lot of new staff. The staff was very attentive and personable, and I think that when they get comfortable with the restaurant, the service will be faster. I’m not sure any of us knew what to expect from the merger of a steakhouse and a burger place, so we are all on a learning curve. All in all, I enjoyed our evening at the new JR’s, and think that I will become a regular there. Again.
