Mak’s Liquors

Would have liked to have been able to give this place at least a 3 star rating as it’s the only liquor store in the area … But what a mess. There are so many cases of soda pop in the store that they are filling all of the aisles and you can’t even see the wines on the shelves.
Wine selection is spare but will pass in an emergency. Their upper end or «top shelf» if you wish is in the $ 10 range with each type almost exactly $ 1 more than at HEB Towerpoint.
As far as local beers are concerned, they have two types of Karbach from Houston.
They seem to sell a lot of LOCO 24 oz cans. You sure can tell a lot about a neighborhood by checking out the local liquor store.
The man running the store was friendly enough so I will probably stop by again if I need a pack of Hopadillo. Plus I’d love to get some photos of the inside of this place. It makes no sense to me how or why a liquor store would have all of the aisles jam packed with sodas all over the floors where a customer can’t even walk around… Bizarre.
