History

Established in 2003.

Jim and Jeanette DeRose purchased Riverside Inn in Cold Spring in May of 2003. The DeRose family has a long history in the hospitality industry having owned and operated vacation rentals in Minnesota including Riverside Resort and Serenity Shores. They also offer a premier oceanfront paradise retreat and family vacation destination rental — Riverside Aloha — on the Garden Island of Kauai, Hawaii.

Jim and Jeanette made numerous improvements and had many expansion projects during their years in business together. On November 1, 2012, angels very peacefully escorted Jeanette into heaven. Jeanette was an incredible, God-​fearing woman who impacted countless lives throughout her life. After much planning and prayer, Jim decided to carry through the hotel expansion project they had begun together. This expansion includes a spacious Conference and Event Center as well as eight new themed guest rooms.

Manager

Melody came to Riverside Inn in July of 2012. Her family has lived in the Richmond/​Cold Spring area for over 30 years. She has been working in the service industry for over 25 years. From employee training coordinator at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store to Service Manager at Texas Roadhouse, she knows that guest satisfaction is of the utmost importance. She brings dedication and integrity to the family-​owned hotel, conference, and event center. She understands the importance of the family long standing tradition of cleanliness, friendliness, and personalized service.
