Wicked Good Cupcakes

I have tried almost all of their products and for the most part everything has been pretty good… I was slightly disappointed in their new products, their cakes in a jar. Although the flavor was pretty decent, I was slightly disappointed in the fact that the cake itself was relatively dry. And that was for all of the four flavors that I tried. They would definitely benefit by doing something that would make the cake a little more moist… Maybe like a poke cake and then pour on some sweetened condensed milk? Maybe adding a little mayonnaise to their base cake mixture? But that little something would take a fair product and make a great product!

We ordered from Wicked Good shortly after seeing them on Shark Tank a while ago and were blown away by the quality of the cupcakes. Despite various recent online reviews stating that the quality had declined, I ordered anyway assuming that people maybe just had a different taste expectation than I had. Plus, my husband had described them as the best cupcakes he’d ever had and his birthday was coming up. So, I shelled out the nearly $ 60 (w/​shipping) for 4 jars of cupcakes.(We ordered Mr. Wonderful’s Cookie Butter, The Wicked Good, Red Velvet and Carrot Cake). The cupcakes were generally very dry and while sweet (as one would expect a cupcake to be), they lacked distinctive flavor. Desserts must be more than sweet; the flavor of whatever they cupcake purports to be on the label should come through just as boldly. For us, these cupcakes widely missed the mark of being anything other than a run-​of-​the-​mill grocery store quality sweet that was loaded with sugar but short on flavor. I’m sad to say we will not be ordering from Wicked Good again.

Wow. …after reading the reviews I’m glad I couldn’t order these. Almost every review says the same thing. .DRY AND TOO SWEET. Anyway, here’s my story. Tried to order wicked good cupcakes today. Very disappointed to find that after placing my order, which advertised a flat $ 5 for shipping, I was advised they couldn’t ship to me in LAS VEGAS bc i am too far away. Consequently they wanted an additional $ 13 – 20 to ship in order to get them to me while still fresh. They advertise that their cupcakes stay fresh in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. How bout slipping a cold pack in the box and sending them to me for $ 5? Bad business. No cupcake is that good.

After watching an episode of shark tank my coworkers and I debated on ordering cupcakes. Well I told my boyfriend and he surprised me with a four pack. I cannot even tell you how excited I was.
Fast forward a few days to when I ate half of the chocolate cupcake in a jar, and it was okay. I saved about half for later, when I opened the jar two days later there was MOLD. Less than a week from receiving them. I was disgusted and just threw the remaining 2 jars out.
My advice is DO NOT ORDER IF YOU LIVE IN CALIFORNIA. Who knows how long these cakes sit before they’re shipped.

So after watching this company on Shark Tank we decided to order a 4 pack. First off when we went to order you could not order off of the cupcake page. We had to order off of a different page. Granted it was the night of Beyond The Tank so maybe that had something to do with it. We waited a week to get our cupcakes and liked how you could schedule the arrival date. The concept is great, the jars are great but the cupcakes themselves were not good. First off there was so much sugar in the frosting that they were unedible. Second the cake itself was dry and not that moist. All in all was not happy with the purchase and would not recommend

I love shark tank, and was sure that these would be delicious. That’s why I paid $ 40 for 4 cupcakes. These arrived within few days. We had friends over when they came. We tried all 4 cupcakes and agreed that these have to be the worst cupcakes we have ever tried and most expensive. The roping on the top tastes like pure sugar, very hard. And the inside is just very dry. The cupcake in the jar is a good idea just wish it was tasty too.

I love Shark Tank so after watching Beyond the Tank I wanted to give these a try. I ordered 2 cupcake jars this week and finally got them today. Let me say… I was scared of getting them because of all the bad reviews I read here. As I put my spoon into the jar to take the first bite, I closed my eyes and wished for the best. AMAZINGLY, they reached my expectations! They were shipped to me down here in Austin, TX and were great (: I will probably order again soon. Do not let the reviews scare you; be the judge yourself. The frosting was good and the cupcake was not too dry. I loved them. Great job Wicked Good Cupcake. I will upload pictures of how they looked when I unboxed them.

For $ 40 for 4 jars (8 cupcakes) I would have expected a tastier cupcake. As others have said, mine were pretty dry overall. Won’t order again.

I do watch Shark Tank with my children and have ordered a couple of products featured. The only notable one was the Himalayan Yak Cheese for dogs-​my boxer pup loved it but $ 12 for a dog treat was bit much. One shot deal for me. You’re welcome Damon (I think).
I did not buy these cupcakes-​my ex-​husband shipped a duo pack to my son for his birthday.
I don’t know why he sent a crappy jar of cake nor do I know what flavors they were~I tasted one and it was just mushed average quality cake layered with mediocre frosting. Tasted like boxed cake mix stuffed in a $.79 glass jar.
But my children did eat them-​so perhaps it’s the perfect gift of teens that need a sugar fix.
And I do hope no one ever sends another to my home. i’m guessing Mr. Wonderful’s wife wouldn’t be too pleased so why should I?

My wife recently told me about the 2.5 star rating and we thought we would chime in. My wife ordered these for me as a christmas present. Being fans of the show, of course we had to eat Mr Wonderful’s Cookie Butter sitting in front of our tree Christmas morning. What a wonderful memory to have. We have ordered again and will order more. Although we do agree that many of their cupcake jars are dry, others should receive a ⁵⁄₅. Mr Wonderful’s Cookie Butter, the Blondie Brownie, and the Cinnabon cupcakes are amazing. We can’t get enough, especially when there’s free shipping… making each jar ~$ 10. We think that’s the perfect price. We have also tasted the cookies and cream, marble mutt, and the signature wicked good… all get ³⁄₅ stars for being dry.
If you are planning on trying a 4pack for the first time, we would highly recommend mr wonderful’s cookie butter, a blondie brownie, cinnabon cupcake, and a flavor of your choice.

I had such high hopes for these cupcakes. But was extremely disappointed enough to write a review. I would NOT recommend buying these. We got a sample four pack total cost $ 55 with shipping. They arrived in a timely manner 4 days from when I purchased and were so DRY and average. All the flavors sub par even their signature «wicked good cupcake». On the website it said free ground shipping once I put All my info in it said no free shipping to my area so an additional $ 15 was tagged on. The next day I emailed them to change a flavor, mind you I tried to change it on their website and it changed it then changed it back at the final steps. Very frustrating– so I emailed them change the flavor dani quickly replied that it would be an additional 50 cents, ok I said send me an invoice or take my cc info. Instead she says call us we are really busy. As a business owner myself, if a customer has a problem with my website and the difference to make it right was 50 cents I would make it right, instead she made it very difficult to change, and ultimately got the flavor we did not like. All in all I would NEVER reorder and just say these are average something you could get at a grocery store. SIFT cupcake in SF Charges 3.50 a cupcake and blows this out of the water. When the product is bad and the customer service is sub par it makes for a bad combo. $ 55 for cupcakes– never again. I’ll pay for

I got a delivery of 12 wicked good cupcakes and it wasn’t until I had a wicked allergic reaction that I noticed they had grown mold in the jar.

Last round of salted caramel cupcakes I got were on the dry side. With all the cupcake places popping up, probably will just get local from now to avoid shipping costs…

I have wanted to try these ever since the Shark Tank episode aired. I finally decided on ordering a four pack for our Christmas vacation. I am a cake/​cupcake fanatic, so I couldn’t wait to break into these jars. I ordered the Chocolate Lab, Mocha Madness, Smores and the original wicked good. Sad to say the Mocha was the only delicious one, if I had to pick my second favorite it would be the Smores. The other two were very dry and really nothing special. I was surprised at how small the jars are in person, the picture on line makes it seem like a large mason jar. I will not order again, I rather eat Duff’s Cake in a jar, as it is layered beautifully and very moist. Sucks because I really wanted these to be extraordinary, but they were mediocre at best!

I first learned about WGC from an episode of Shark Tank and was eager to try it. I ordered two flavors for my boss as a thank you present but then I read the Unilocal reviews so I decided to taste them before ordering another 2 flavors to give to her. And I am glad I did because, like all these reviews mentioned, the cupcakes are very dry. One of them felt like I was eating sand. The frosting was not too sweet like others
mentioned, but then again, I have major sweet tooth. Which is why I’m giving two stars. Very disappointed as I love the idea of a cupcake in a jar, but for $ 25 for two jars, it is clearly not worth it. I think I would pay $ 12 for two jars — or rather, maybe just buy cupcakes from Shoprite. Alternatively, for my boss’ gift, I will just be going to a local bakery, which in retrospect, is what I should have done in the first place. I hope WGC are reading these reviews and planning on some major changes.

I feel that once a company or product gets popular and goes mainstream (for example Shark Tank), the quality of the product gets sacrificed due to cutting costs and mass production. I’m guessing these cupcakes were once amazing, because I received 4 extremely dry cupcakes with average frosting. I really wanted to like these as it was Christmas and I love supporting small businesses around the US. Very disappointed. What does quality control look like? How close to the business are he original owners? I don’t think they would be too pleased if they tried the cupcakes we got shipped here in California.

Ordered 4 as a Christmas present for my wife after seeing them on Shark Tank. Today we sampled them and were very disappointed with all 4 favors. All four of them were very dry. Aside from the dryness I’d consider them extremely average cupcakes — like something I would buy at the grocery store. We ate a spoon full of each and then threw them out — not good enough to waste calories on.
At $ 40 (including shipping) I give these 1 star. At half that price they would get two stars.

Is Kevin O’Leary okay? Why did he love these cupcakes enough to invest in the company? Is he unaware of what makes a good cupcake? Stop the madness!
We gave Wicked Good Cupcakes a shot. I ordered four different flavors and split them among four people. All four of us sat at the table, sampling all four jar cupcakes, and said one of two things: 1. «Eh, okay,» and 2. «This is dry.»
While the flavors weren’t too bad, the cakes were extremely dry. Who wants to eat a dry cupcake? We surely did not get what we paid for since these were not enjoyable yet quite pricey. We would have saved money and disappointment if we just got in the car and drove to the nearest bakery to eat a freshly made cupcake there.
The cupcake in a jar idea is quite cute — but if it’s not a scrumptious and delicious cupcake, the packaging is irrelevant.
I won’t order from here again.

BEWARE. DO NOT BUY THEIR GIFT CARDS. I received a $ 25 giftcard from a friend for my birthday. Going online to use it I quickly learned that there was no item I could purchase that cost under $ 25 when shipping to California was included. Two cupcakes for $ 35 including shipping! How irritating to have to *pay* for my own birthday gift to be shipped to me. No way!
It’s rude of this company to market/​sell a gift card for an amount lower than the total price of their least expensive item. If they are this thoughtless with their marketing and gift card sales, imagine how thoughtless they are with the actual product. Oh, wait, I don’t have to imagine… just read the other reviews here from folks who got tricked into actually placing an order.
I’m glad I came here to check the reviews to find out that the products don’t even taste good. I saved myself the $ 10 and aggravation of getting a substandard product.
I can’t even sell my gift card online… nobody wants it. What a shame that my friend wasted $ 25 and this company got his money for nothing.
At least I can share my experience here and hopefully nobody else will fall victim to this ruse.

I purchased a 6 pack of cupcakes for a friend who was in NYC for business and was away from home for a bit. In the past, WCG has had high shipping costs which was cost prohibitive and very long shipping times, so we have shied away from placing orders with them. However, this time the shipping was free and the package arrived within 2 days of ordering it. We were impressed with the free shipping and very fast delivery because so many gift basket/​gourmet gift companies have the typical 7 – 10 day shipping times.
Keep it up WGC. We will place more orders in the future. Happy to support a local New England company.
PS — the cupcakes were delicious and everyone enjoyed them. The packaging was perfect and very professional.
