I wrote a rating on Tips and Toes about 2 years ago. I am still very happy going there. Jessica C. has been my nail tech the entire time. Great place, clean and friendly.

The owner has responded on here with an update to the problem I complained about, which was the lack of hygiene with the staff dipping their gloved hands into a jar of scrub. I am glad they have changed this and now put the scrub into squeeze bottles, but am shocked that I had to bring this to their attention. Also, the owner lied and said they got in touch with me. I have never heard from them and only never discussed it at the time of the pedicure because I didn’t feel like getting into an argument. I expected that, as a place that provides this service they would be knowledgeable about cleanliness and good hygiene. if my review was needed to get their attention to this matter, then what else are they doing wrong?

I only gave this place a two because of the person who did my nails which was Alex she did a amazing job. First of all I made a appointment and was called to have it pushed forward 15 mins which was ok because the person was running late who was going to do my nails. When I reach for the appointment the person I was suppose to see wasn’t ready and I didn’t see anyone till 20 mins after waiting no one cared to ask why I was waiting. It’s my first time which if I was a business owner or clerk making the appointment you would think first impression would have made a difference because you want a customer to return. My pedicure person was ok did a horrible job of cleaning my feet and also polishing my feet. It’s uneven I have to get it re polished some where else. DONOT GO THERE.

Recently moved to Deerfield and was looking for a new Nail Salon for my nexgen nails, pedicure and mani’s for my older daughter. I called for an apt and the women who answered the phone was extremely rude, I should have known then what kind of customer service would have come from this place. I decided to go in for my pedicure and give it a try. The pedicure was fine, the women who did it was great, I asked her who she would recommend for my nails, she told me Alex, so I then made an apt with the nasty, hung up on herself washed up women at the front desk. I returned later that day with my daughter from a manicure still giving this place another shot. Stupid move on my part. I understand that this women I now see so many complaints about is at the very least part owner of this business. It is such a shame because the girls that work there seem very nice and are butting their butts for a B like her. Come on girls there are plenty of great salons out there that would be lucky to have you.

This is a review for Alex. She is hands down, the sweetest person in the business. I won’t go into the details because when you experience her you will be thanking me. Her gel manicures are the best!

It’s very sad because I love the girl that does my nails however the lady at the front desk is very rude and doesn’t listen. Today I called and asked if my regular girl Erika was available she said what time I said 11:45 or 12:00 she said that will work. I get up get dressed and go all the way there. I waiting for her no problem Erika comes by and says I will be with you shortly. Of course I smile and can’t wait to sit in the chair to speak to her and get my pedicure. As she’s great!!! The front desk lady said to me oh well you don’t request Erika and I said yeah I did when I called I asked for her. Well she has client as if I didn’t just call and ask for Erika to begin with or as if I’m not client. I said then I’m gone big mistake my first review was great now I will not go back! I’m sorry Erika as you and the girls that made me laugh are the best however I refuse to be treated as if I am not a client.

I wish there was a negative 10 rating because this is what they would get. Claudia is by far the very worst mani/​pedi/​waxing person in the place! She is NOT good at any of these services and her only concern is getting finished with you and on to the next customer. My pedicure was not sanitary as the tub was filled with soap scum. I said something and she acted like she did not understand English (which she conveniently does often). The NextGen nail experience was equally as bad as Michelle drilled into my cuticles more than once. The techs spoke to each other the whole time (the woman next to me was having NexGen as well) trying to figure out which step goes next. Every nail started lifting within two days and are so thin you can see the light through them! They bad mouth every other salons’ services and each employee bad mouths each other. The smell of chemical in there is so bad I could hardly stand it. I don’t know if the place is properly ventilated but it doesn’t seem like it is. With the amount of nail salons around, save your time and money and find one that has good reviews online. They advertise the fact that it is «American» but as one myself this is an embarrassment. If Americans want to compete with Asians for business, they need to act like business people who appreciate business and strive to keep their customers satisfied. Maybe if people stop patronizing them they will clean house (literally). They need to get a staff who knows how to do the services they offer instead of sticking customers with anyone available just for the sake of collecting money. We work too hard to throw money at people who clearly have no respect or regard for their clients! Shame on you Tips and Toes! You can fool people only once!

First time ever for mani-​pedi here. Girl who did pedi did hardly cut my nails. She never touched cuticles or pushed them up. She just put some hot wax on my feet and then polish. Didn’t say anything because not crazy about having my feet touched. Then went on to manicure which was supposed to be NexGen. Worst NexGen manicure that I ever had. First one girl started and in the middle passed me on to another. That one didn’t know what the heck she was doing. My nails came out thin and 2 broken nails should have had tips on them. Only dipped nails 2x instead of 3 – 4. Would never go back. I wouldn’t even give them One Star. Waste of money!!!

RUN FAR and RUN FAST especially for NexGen. I’m not big into reviewing but this calls for it as it was the worst and most unpleasant experience I’ve had at a nail salon. There were about 11 red flags that told me I should have left but I like giving people benefit of the doubt. I’ve been getting NexGen for years but never found a place close to my office that did it only by my house which is 20 miles north of my office. I heard Tips & Toes did so I decided to give them a try. I walked in and immediately got an «UGH A CUSTOMER» vibe. (Red Flag #1) Should have walked out then, but sadly I didn’t. They said the girl I was having my nails with was still with a customer so another technician was instructed to get my nails ready and wrapped. Instead she just eyed the other technician barely touched my nails and as soon as she finished she went over to the other technician as if excited that she didn’t have to do anything. (Red Flag #2). I then sit down with the technician assigned to me who promptly bitches about the other girl not helping her out. While I totally agree, that was so unprofessional. (Red Flag #3). What a pleasant surprise, the nail technician to the right of her was sitting at her station, feet up, shoes off, on the chair that another client would eventually sit on. (Red Flag #4). To save everyone time, since mine was wasted here, I’ll go through the next few quick. The technician tried to sell me on another process as soon as I sat down. (Red Flag #5). She then revealed to me that took a year off, and that she has been doing NexGen for a year but didn’t know all the «secrets» but continued to brag at how amazing at nails she is (she nabbed my cuticle pretty bad). (Red Flag #6). They brought out the colors which were drab and ugly (most places have bold glitter, etc.). (Red Flag #7). They added glitter into the powder since I said I liked alot of glitter. They proceeded to still put a Gel top coat over them. My nails weren’t buffed down so essentially they were just sealing in bumpy powder. The Gel top coat came out AWFUL on the NexGen and it was so thick I looked like I had 9 nails piled on top of each other. (Red Flag #8 and #9) One of the other technicians offered to try and fix it so they just took off the gel and put the NexGen top coat, which i could literally scrap off, again since the powder was never buffed down. All 30 other times I’ve gotten NexGen they are shiny and strong until I get them redone. (Red Flag #10). I told her to just put something on so I could leave and get it fixed somewhere else. I over heard the manager say «Oh she doesn’t like THAT either.» (Red Flag #11). The Tech that originally did my nails tried to salvage the situation but it was far too late for that. I’m all for giving people the benefit of the doubt, but I should have just left with my gut feeling as soon as I walked in. The cleanliness was as nasty as their attitudes. Getting out of there fast was worth more than fighting for my money back, so essentially I paid to leave. I immediately went and got them fixed at another salon. I won’t even mention that I won’t go back, because they didn’t even care that I was there in the first place, no less if I come back. So just save yourself, your money and your nails!

I thought I would try it out because I had a coupon. I was so close to walking out but I didn’t want to be rude. My nail tech talked the entire time about a previous client that complained about her service (which I could see why) and how the other techs didn’t treat her well. The tech was very rough and bad hygiene. I also found the front desk person unprofessional and the entire experience was so disappointing. It’s obvious I won’t be back.

Not even two weeks later and my nails are cracking down the center one by one because the girl filed them on the surface which I have never seen done before for a gel manicure! I stay at home for work and wear gloves to do dishes so this is un-​excusable. I wish I could go back in there and get my money back! I am going to buy a nail strengthener today!!!

I have been going to tips and toes for a few months now and every time I go i’m scheduled with a different nail tech and they’re always going back and forth between customers. I have gotten a few different kinds of nail put in and they always chip. I am a bit upset with the way the nails end up after less then 1 WEEK!

I’ve been coming to Tips and Toes for the past 3 years and I couldn’t be happier. My nail tech Alex is the best she cares about all her clients and what they want. Since I’ve been going to her I’ve had not one problem with my nails. In fact if anything ever happens to my nails she takes care of it right away i call and the girls are so nice to me. I’ve even had my husband, mother and son come in. I have sent so many of my friends to Tips and Toes and they all have been happy. I can’t say anything bad about Tips and Toes except they should have more peoples like Alex and Aggie working there. Two people that are very sweet and kind and Alex isn’t only my nail tech she became part of my family. LOVE LOVE this place

Worst salon experience ever.
I went in first thing Sunday morning for a much needed mani-​pedi. Everything seemed normal upon entering the salon, however, as I sat down with my nail tech (if you could even call her that?) things went south. The first thing Claudia (my nail tech) said to me after hello was to offer me her special on facials. She then proceeded to put on her name tag which said «Facial». This was the first sign that all was not right.
She asked if I wanted my nails clipped and I pointed to a few that were longer than the rest. She then proceeded to haphazardly clip ALL of my nails at crazy angles so that they had to be filed down extremely short. This was upsetting as I had just grown out my nails, which was my reason for getting a manicure in the first place.
I asked for a french manicure, so she proceeded to apply the white for the tips. It was a painstakingly slow process and she had to correct and start several of them over as she couldn’t get them straight. I inspected after she finished the first hand and most of the painting was crooked, along with her initial filing job, which was also clearly crooked and uneven.
At that point, I was close to walking out. She asked if I could give her a chance and I stupidly agreed. I had her take off the french she had done and put on a solid color. I had to individually inspect each nail and tell her where to file to correct what she had already done. At that point, my nails were even shorter. Then she asked me if I was interested in her spa pedicure special… Seriously???
The pedicure portion of my visit was better, at least my toenails were straight. However, the salon was FREEZING and for some reason, Claudia couldn’t get the water of the foot bath to be HOT. It took a good five minutes until she managed to get some hot water out. It didn’t stay hot for long but it wasn’t worth the effort to keep messing with it, so I kept my mouth shut and counted down the minutes until I could leave.
After a few minutes, I noticed that there was a bunch of residue in the foot bath, which didn’t seem to be from me, as she hadn’t put anything in the water. I looked over at the adjacent bath and noticed residue as well. GROSS! I immediately realized the cause of this after she drained the bath and failed to rinse the tub. Every other pedicure I’ve gotten in my life, the tech has ALWAYS rinsed the bath after draining the water.
I don’t understand how this place had such great reviews and I had such a terrible experience. Maybe my experience was a fluke. I can deal with one or two things out of place, but I have never had so much wrong happen in one visit. Awful awful awful.

Listen here all you nay sayers!
I have been coming to Tips and Toes since its inception. I know all the techs and the owners for more than 10 years. I followed one tech in particular from Deerfield Beach up to Lantana and back down again to Coconut Creek. I would not let ANY other person touch my nails or feet or do my waxing other than Alex. The owners (Michelle and Nichole) have been nothing but nice and accommodating and making sure their customers are happy and satisfied. I don’t know what the hoopla is all about with all the negative postings. I wouldn’t change salons even if they did the services for nothing.

So happy with my gel acrylics with nail art! Gina did a great job shaping my nail to my specificity. Jessica was patient and did an excellent job executing my idea. Highly recommend.

I couldn’t even make an appointment. The woman who answered the phone hung up on me at first, that should’ve been my first sign but I called back and she was SO rude and acted super annoyed that I dare to be calling for an appointment. I don’t understand these disgusting people anymore. So you don’t want business??? You’re a nail shop which means you’re a dime a dozen… get it together because many of your reviews are not good and mention rude employees and poor service. Consumers don’t owe you anything and you certainly won’t be getting my business.

I kept getting flyers for this place so I made a appointment and went to check it out! Wow unbelievable, and very unprofessional! As soon as I sat down for my pedicure my tech started complaining about how tired she was and just wanted to go home! She was eating durning my pedicure and continued complaining the whole time! One of the owners came to the back with a customer that wanted a pedicure… And one of the employees yelled I’m not doing as pedicure at this hour and stormed out the back!!! It was a awful experience! I treat my self to mani/​pedi about once a month to relax and unwind!!! This was dreadfully the whole time I just wanted to leave.
I have talked to my other mom friends and neighbors and a few of them had bad experiences too, so give it a try if u want too… but my suggestion is to take ur hard earned money some where else!

Just moved into the area decided to check this place out since it had so many reviews on Unilocal and was right around the corner.
Walked into the salon with two other friends about 1 ½ hour before they closed. Manager ordered two nail techs to complete the job. With such an attitude the nail techs took us in and such POOR service. She did my manicure so poorly, she would paint the entire nail with no care about getting polish on my skin and then would fix it after wards to the acetone brush. At first I thought it was a mistake but then I realized she did it like that to EVERY single nail even my toes!!! Afterwards I noticed how horrible they were and asked my friends about her and she got the same service. horrible! You can tell they didn’t know how to do nails properly. They should learn to never let their attitude affect the service they give to their customer.
Ending up showing and telling the manager of our mani job and they apologized and didn’t even charge us. Such a horrible salon. Definitely do not recommend it to anyone!

I wish I had the ability to post images with reviews (someday, Unilocal). Got their mani/​pedi combo with gel nails and regular toes exactly one month ago. There are a couple minor chips on my thumbs but the polish is intact and still looks amazing! They just grew out-​totally normal. I used a purple OPI (will attempt to submit an image so look for the purple). I am utterly impressed with the quality that I received! I have went to the «uppity» salons in Boca and didn’t get this quality. IT REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE WHO PUTS ON YOUR SHELLAC (I am sure they all do a great job but Jodi is my girl). I swim in the ocean, pools, wash dishes, and am really hard on my nails. For this to keep up-​I am totally sold!
Tips N Toes know exactly what they are doing, great customer service and superior quality and they don’t charge through the roof! This keeps people coming back and someone like my driving from Boca-​because it’s worth it!
A VERY nice touch with the wax for the pedi too.
I recommend them to EVERYONE who asks.
