I used to enjoy their jerk chicken so i went for a Saturday lunch. Of course like every other Jamaican restaurant, they dont have what i want; they only have white meat but i still take it. I dont like too much rice so i ask for half rice and half cabbage, she points to the cabbage and says thats all they have and i say ill take it. She goes in the back to get the chicken and i see a full container of rice, so i say what about the cabbage? She says they dont have any left as im staring at the cabbage, i say what about that? She says thats all we have. Someone had to tell her to give it to me like she was saving it for someone more important. I’ll never support that restaurant again. Plus their patties are dry.

I had such a hankering for a spicy Jamaican beef patty so I drove here to satisfy my taste buds. I was there at 1:30 for a late lunch and asked for a spicy meat patty with coco bread. They were out. They were out of this popular item at 1:30? So I ordered a mild beef patty. While waiting, one of the employees stood over the food, biting and chomping on her fingernails. Oh, and the beef patty? SOOOOOIDRRRRYYY!!!

This small storefront in a Publix strip mall is worth a drive from anywhere, if you’re a fan of Jamaican food. If you’re not a fan already, you soon will be! You can see most of the dishes displayed and choose accordingly. Main dishes come with veggies(cabbage plus), choice of rice, and plantains. The sauce alone is delish. We absolutely loved the brown stew chicken. The oxtail was the best I’d ever had(even in Jamaica). The sauce, which you’ll be licking off your fingers, has a slight kick. It’s not overly spicy though — just enough to give the food personality(and maybe make your nose run) Thank you to Unilocal for our discovery. They haven’t been opened that long but we are sure they’ll be packed once more people find out about it. We were very surprised to find this is a chain… you’d never know if you didn’t read the brochure. We will be back!

Great patties. And the breakfast porridge a are so yummy. Different one everyday. Only downside is they sometimes run out of Oxtail in the evening.

Stopped by for lunch before my sons basketball game. I normally go to golden crust for the ox tail. They give a generous portion and I always ask for more cabbage then rice. Pricey but ox tail is pricey and long to cook to tenderness. I enjoy their house made spicy sauce and cabbage. To die for. Eating half now and half later. I usually go to the location in sample cuz my son likes their Mac and cheese which this location doesn’t have… overall it is a good fast take out or dine in for Jamaican food.

Hot Jamaican style breakfasts and dinners are awesome. I admired the variety of pattie flavors but I always wish the crusts were more flaky. Once you get used to that, they are really worth trying all the variations including the curry goat(mutton) patty. Wow. the food quality, flavors and customer service at all these locations are very consistent. There is no such thing as a small dish, a large will easily serve 2 people. I went to lunch a non jamaican who complained about the bones in the food. I never realized that not everyone chewed the bones! That was a big culture education. I advised her that most jamaicans would chew the bones and take them out without a second thought. I always go here when I’m looking for fast service and good flavors that remind me of home. I took one star because I tried to go there during their stated hours on a Saturday AM but they were closed with no explanation.

If your West Indian like me and you’re accustom going to Jamaican restaurants you KNOW the wait is going to be long lol. Don’t listen to these people when they say the wait is too long cause if you’re in a rush, why wait on a line? I digress. Anywho, this is the BEST Golden KRUST in the entire Fort Lauderdale area. The food is ONPOINT. Everything from the brown stem to the curry chicken is on point. I’m from NYC so I’m very picky and impatient when it comes to my food. The Golden KRUST in Brooklyn doesn’t even compare. I do believe their chef is very talented at what s/he does. S/Os to everybody that works here. You will always be my first choice!

Ok, you redeemed yourselves this week. I went in on Wednesday around 11:30 am. Got take out. Red bean stew and jerk chicken. Everything FRESH, HOTANDDELICIOUS. OMG! Honestly, the food tasted like a different person prepared it. Flavor, REAL flavor and seasoning in everything. NICE!

I was looking for some good Caribbean food and decided to check out golden crust. It is the place to go. It’s big indoors, pretty clean and it’s not that busy. I ordered the curry goat and my wife ordered the stew chicken. The food was very tasty with a little hint of spiciness to give you that extra kick. The goat was tender and i got a big portion which i was very happy about. The rice and beans had a nice flavor and was exactly what i was feeling for. The service was good, my server was soft spoken and took our orders with a smile. She did every thing very timely, as we were in a rush but she was still able to pack our food neatly so that we wouldn’t have any issues once we were out the door. They also serve beef and chicken patty. The perfect bite while driving home, the patty is full of meat and the crust by itself is tasty. Overall my experience was great and I’ll be returning soon.

Worst restaurant ever. Cold pastries and horrible slow service. STAYAWAY!!! Manager is a nasty person who makes horrible comment to female customers especially when he gets rejected with his advances.

The patties and coco bread is what I come for. The review is for the fact they are ALWAYS out of coco bread, service is slow, slow slow. You hope they have patties when you go there. The place is capable of alot more business
