Not a good place!!!

I stopped here on the way home to Virginia, after tiring of driving. Being a Friday, I paid the weekend rate, which is 120 and change (ouch). AAA saved me 10%.
I was sorely disappointed to find no microwave, no fridge unit, no iron or ironing board, and no trash can liners in the trash buckets.
The room smelled faintly of cigarette smoke and maybe fresh paint, and I am really hoping that I am not the one who gets blamed for the new paint smell (I’m a non-​smoker).
There are a couple of other hotels in town.

As previously mentioned, the whole place absolutely reeks of cigarette smoke, the rooms, the hallways, everywhere. I think it’s kind of funny that they post little no smoking pictures on the front of each room’s door because the damage has clearly already been done, so why even bother at this point?
What annoyed me the most about the place was that they falsely advertised free wifi, which by its very definition means WIRELESS service. Each room is equipped with an ethernet port, but there is no wifi anywhere.
As for the positives, they do have a large and well maintained field area surrounding the hotel, which is great for picnics or throwing around a football in the nice weather. Also, it isn’t either of the nearby Holiday or Howes Cavern hotels. Seriously, i drove by both, and they looked to be horror movie-​level sketchy. So there’s that.

My boyfriend and I stayed there when we went to go to Cooperstown and see a kennel for our new puppy. It was great for what we paid. The hotel was clean and the bed wasnt super comfortable but it was good enough for two nights. I would definitely stay there again.

Decades of smoking simply cannot be Febreezed out. Which probably explained why the apathetic staff just stopped trying. This was a truly awful hotel. The hallways smelled terrible, the room smelled terrible, the service was terrible, the mattress was terrible, the television was terrible.
Thankfully, the bathroom was clean and there were fresh toiletries in there. That was one small nugget of goodness in an otherwise repulsive experience.
I’m not sure how many other options are available in the area. It might be best to just totally avoid this part of New York.

Clearly this was once a smoking hotel, the whole place reeks. I didn’t even unpack because I hoped my clothes wouldn’t stink.
The bathroom was pretty grody, ancient shriveled soap, two tiny towels, old fixtures. The bed was as hard as a rock, linens were pilly and threadbare, and there were only two small pillows. The tv was fuzzy and it only got 15 or so channels.
That all said, our room was huge and the staff were really nice. Tons of parking, everything was clean too. Price on Priceline wasn’t bad, $ 63/​night. Okay, just dated and smelly.
