History
Established in 1999.
A Taste of Europe started as an off-premise catering service. Owner/chef Jeannette always loved to cook and knew the importance of presenting the food beatifully. «The eyes eat first». Her love of cooking and baking came from her Grandmother, who welcomed J’s assistance when she prepared meals for the family in Czechoslovakia. «Babi», as Jeannette affectionately called her, lived in five different countries in her lifetime. The culinary skills that J. acquired from her, as well as her travels and studies in Europe are the reasons why J. became so passionate about serving people quality food.
When many people started to ask whether she also had a restaurant, Jeannette started thinking… Why not? in 2006, when her husband Janis retired from his other job, they opened a café in downtown Cobeskill.
By the end of 2007, Janis and Jeannette decided to move A Taste of Europe to a new location, a conveniently located large building that was originatly built as a church in 1917.
