Jellystone Park at Cobb Mountain

I read the other reviews and really expected this place to be filthy, but I was pleasantly surprised. We had a cute cabin with a bunk bed, and full bed, that was in really good condition. The bathrooms and the pool were both clean, and stocked with toilet paper, and toilet covers. I did not hear any roosters in the morning. The customer service was great, and they were all really nice to my kids. We loved the different activities available. it just sucked that we went on a weekday, so no characters were on site. Overall– it was a really good experience.

I have to admit I was a little worried after seeing all the bad reviews but after going there this weekend I was very pleasantly surprised! This place had so much to do for my teenagers they we’re never bored. The pool was a little dated but it’s mostly for the little kids or just to cool off. The only complaint I had was there was no lock on the women’s shower either door which is a little disconcerting especially when you have younger girls in there by themselves. I would suggest to management to invest into $ 5 barrel bolt locks. The spaces were quite large and there was nice fire pits. I’m only giving four stars due to the bathrooms needing a little remodeling and they need a bigger pool. Overall I would definitely return to Jellystone RV park

I don’t understand the bad reviews. My husband and I have been RVing for 3 years and go often, this place was one of the nicest places we have stayed. We have 5 children and the kids were never bored. The office help was a little slow but we went the beginning of the season, they had just hired all new people for the busy season. The full time livers were all very friendly and gave us some helpful tips about the area. The pool was small and outdated, my kids didn’t know the difference though. The playground was giant and right across from our site. I was expecting it to be a little loud at night but it was quiet right at 10. The creek next to it is beautiful and there’s plenty of places to walk around there. The hay rides were really cute too. For all the amenities you get the place was cheap. We will definitely be going back.

Don’t waste one minute here. Horrible dirty place. We arrived on a Wednesday, park very empty. Except for the permanent dwellers, too many for my liking. Chickens running loose & will awaken you at 430am. Vicious guinea hens always trying to attack. Trash running over at disposal sites, which animals drag out at nite. Bathrooms are filthy, brown running water, that doesn’t clear. No toilet paper or towels. Grounds are messy as well. We had reserved 2 nites, but left after 1. Sad, could be very nice. Needs new management.

We love it here! Great family fun, friendly staff, clean facility. The pool was refreshing and we walked the creek for an adventure. My 3 year old, as well as 4 ranging between 6 and 13 years old had a blast! The paddle boats, activites and unique bikes are fun for all! There was a concert when we were there but we couldn’t hear it from our site. We stayed 3 nights over the holiday weekend and the sites were pretty full, but it didn’t feel crowded in a large RV. We were thankful to find a campsite that would accomidate us the last minute:) This was our second trip to Jellystone and we will be back. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because that rooster does have to go! I got a kick out of the guinea hens!

Just came back from a very brief one-​nighter there; our first time camping with 2.5 year old toddler.
The place overall is a good campsite: the activities and amenities are pretty good. The pool looked nice, though we didn’t get to try it.
The surrounding area is beautiful.
We would have preferred a shaded spot, but not everybody gets a tree in their spot.
The bathrooms were clean.
There was a live music concert (live band, sounded nice). They stopped playing at 10:20PM. The campsite went quiet around 30 minutes later.
So, why the 2 stars?
4:30AM roosters. Yup. And it’s not wild animals. It’s someone that lives on site in an RV that has chickens and at least one rooster. (see other reviews)
Our fire-​box/​ring was smashed (somebody had run it over and it was not possible to use it.
It doesn’t say anywhere on their site: they charge $ 10 extra per dog. I’m not complaining about this, just informing you.
So: check for concerts if you like it quiet at night. And somebody please get rid of those dang roosters.

We just spent two fantastic days at this amazing place. My wife is NOT a camper so she was not too excited about the whole idea. So we ended up getting one of the small cabins they have and it was perfect.
My four year old learned how to kayak by herself while my two year old loved riding with dad on the sit on top kayaks they had available. The whole family enjoyed the paddle boats too. We rode these cool four person bikes and went swimming in the pool.
Then we went exploring in the creek and I watched my kids experience the joy of exploration, in a safe environment.
My wife wants me to mention that the bathrooms and the pool were very clean as was the entire park. She was a little concerned because of some of the negative reviews. She is rather particular and if there was any type of issue, she would have found it.
The other campers became my kids little camping buddies and they had a great time.
Both nights they showed these great kid movies on an outdoor screen, my daughter thought she was soooo cool staying up late and watching the movie :)
This was our first visit, but I can assure you we will be returning every year. This place is great!

A single star would reflect the sleep I got last night. Rock & roll until 3:00 am (I looked at the clock when was able to get to sleep), and a rooster crowing from the yard of a long-​term RV «resident» at 4:30 am (I looked at the clock again when I awoke in the dark to that MF going off too few minutes after finally getting to sleep).
I am captive here at my wife’s family reunion, so I ain’t leaving, but I am leaving this review to encourage you, along with so many others, to leave this place to folks who really don’t mind a facility in poor repair and happy to accommodate antisocial behavior on the part of visitors.
One thing in its favor, and the only reason I added another star, is that the creek that runs next to the campground is a pretty decent place to site good birds, and there is decent access to it from the campground. I even saw a new species for me, so that was cool. But, I dread the coming night. Cockadoodle don’t stay here unless you have to.

DO NOT COME HERE. There is this lady in the office kinda tall skinny lady. SHE WAS REALLY RUDE. EVEN GAVE ME THE WRONG CHANGE. The things that bugs me the most is that this lady came out of the office and was screaming at this young employee something about parking. 3 family’s saw her yell across the yard. Not professional. The young man even came back and apologize for her actions. Then after that we did this arts and crafts thing and the lady was being so rude too my children. WTH KINDA OF EMPLOYEE IS THAT. NEVER COMING BACK

Very cute idea, lots for kids to do. DO NOT plan on using the pool it is closed and disgusting. The deck is uneven, in ill repair and full of weeds. Pool not useable and is nothing more than a breeding ground for mosquito larva. The worst part of the pool is that no mention was made of its closure at the time my reservation was made. I opted for tent camping and arrived late in the evening. I had to practically pitch the tent on the road as in spite of there being a fire pit and a grill at the site someone chose to dump their hot coals in two piles on the ground. I caught my dog just before she walked on them. Great idea with sink and electric at the tent sites however the electric box was dangling under the picnic table and the electric didn’t work. I had to scrub the sink with a bleach cleaner as a dirty diaper was left in it. Don’t put the bleach away yet as the two toilets near my site were covered in feces with no one available to clean it but me. Dog poop is fairly prevalent on the ground. I had hoped for three nights, arrived at 7pm, pitched the tent and was out the door and on the road by 8am looking for an alternate getaway. There are a lot of things for kids, paddle boats, pedal cars/​carts, playground, miniature golf, outdoor movie though the place was very slow my night, therefore no movie. But the pool… In my area I would get a seriously expensive citation for it. The photo of the pool should be removed from their website. In reading reviews this is not an exception but seems to be the rule.

This was absolutely the worst camping experience ever. We booked a site here telling the lady taking the reservation that we were supposed to be at a different campground but that the lake was unavailable to swim in at the time. Being a hot weekend and wanting to swim, this facility seemed perfect. The woman didn’t tell us that the pool was closed. Strike one.
She also didn’t tell us that Cobbstock was happening the weekend we were there. When you are trying to get away with toddlers that go to sleep at 8 and you have to deal with a live concert in camp, I think the registration person should have the courtesy to ask people if they are aware that a concert is going on that weekend. Camping with three babies, I would’t have booked it had I known. Strike two.
Then when we got to our campsite only to find a patch of dirt; no table, no fire pit, or anything when all the pictures on the website show lush grassy sites with all the amenities. We were very disappointed. Strike three.
Being that this place is advertised as a family campground with an awesome playground, we took our kids to the park. Would have been great if they had some garbage cans out for people to put garbage in. There wasn’t, of course, so people just threw their trash on the ground, which my kids loved to pick up and put in their mouths. Strike four.
The «water issues.» There were signs all over saying that we needed to help conserve water because of problems with their water. Conservation is awesome, but putting signs up that ask guests to wait until after 9pm to shower is ridiculous. The biggest problem I had was that the water was yellow/​brown. Like urine-​poopy toilet colored water coming out of the faucets and sinks. Why were there no signs explaining that? I didn’t trust the filthy water to give to my babies to drink. Strike five.
The facilities were filthy. Seriously I don’t mind a pit toilet, and I’m not a prim and proper girl, but these were bad. And the cute little pond where they show kids paddle boating on the website seriously looks like a cesspool that they empty the RV sludge into. I’m not kidding. Strike six.
Lastly, the drunk and disorderly people. Allowing guests to play music very loud anytime is annoying. Allowing it at night is just wrong at a FAMILY campground. It didn’t matter that we were far away from the Cobbstock concert happing on the other side of the park cause we had our neighbors putting on a free concert for us right next door. Babies love falling asleep to Nickleback and Linkin Park. I went to the office after about an hour (I didn’t want to approach the people as they had been doing beer bong hits and smoking pot for the last three hours), and I ask the staff if there was any way they could get the music turned down as we had babies trying to sleep (at 9:30 pm), they apologized and said they would let the manager know. Forty minutes later when nothing happened, my husband had to go over and ask them to keep it down. I get there is a quiet time at 10 pm, but that doesn’t mean you can blast music with no regard for other campers. Strike… I forgot what number.
Anyway this place is just terrible. Nice kids running the office (seriously though are they even old enough to sell the alcohol there?), but they are not trained to be in a position to manage the campers that ran the campground this weekend.

This is a good family campground close to the Bay Area. There are plenty of activities to keep the kids busy: tug-​of-​war, mini golf, pedal boats, three and four-​wheeled bikes, a decent playground, several horseshoe pits, catching tadpoles, etc. The staff are friendly and helpful. The store has a few items like drinks and souvenirs, but don’t expect more. The campsites are spacious, although many have no shade at all. There are some good tent sites along the creek with good shade. The pool is old and was just filled during our stay, so it was murky. It’s also small and shallow. Overall the place looks like it was once a dilapidated resort but is slowly being improved. A few more good years of prosperity and they should be able to make the place a 5-​star park.

Nice, safe and clean. We stayed in the A frame which was very nice. Plenty of space for 8 people. Nice kitchen and grill outside. Watched the night movie while playing at the playground.
Too expensive. The rates don’t include mini golf, bikes or paddleboats, the kids all want to do that so be prepared to add $ 10-​$ 20 per person for those.

Mission successful: kids had a great time and want to go back, nobody wound up in the hospital and I got to toss back a few too many cold ones without too much worry. While I prefer a more wooded experience in the Sierra or even Bodega Bay, Jellystone at Cobb Mtg was a good time.
The positives:
+ campground staff quite attentive
+ tons of stuff for the kids– both free and extra charge
+ regular water trucks to keep the dust down
+ clean facilities, for a campground
+ nights were nice and cool
The minuses:
— small trees+sunshine=hot
— we made our own fire pit and picnic table was past its prime
— sites a little small and crowded if totally full.
— a couple more bathrooms needed.

All I can say is this place has the potential. It needs updating and intense cleaning of the A frame they rent out. The bathrooms need vents, power washing, & cleaning. The pool (as others stated) was empty & it was 104 degrees. Why, you ask? The pool was murky, cloudy & you couldn’t see the bottom of the pool. BASICALLY, it needs a general cleaning EVERYWHERE.
The kids loved the paddle boats, mini golfing, go-​carts, & playground. The outdoor movie was ok but this is the 2^nd time we were there and they played the same thing day after day-​Yogi Bear movie.
The roosters were a bit crazy but it’s camping-​just go with the flow.

We stayed in the A Frame cabin for two nights to have a short family vacation and celebrate our son’s birthday. The cabin was clean and spacious, and had almost everything we needed. Our family of five fit very comfortably.
There are two bedrooms downstairs with one queen bed in each room. They both have spacious closets. Also downstairs is a laundry room and one bathroom.
There is a loft-​style room upstairs with one double bed and one twin bed. There is also a crawl space that my kids thoroughly enjoyed!
The park was understaffed, but the staff who were working were very friendly and helpful. There is plenty to do and and the value was right on par! We will definitely be returning! Very satisfied customers!

We took the grand kids up for a few days. The staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful but the infrastructure was not so good.
While they can’t be expected to do anything about the hot weather, there is only 3 or 4 sites with any useable shade.
The pool is a little small for the size of the park and not terribly clean.
The rest rooms were marginal and the showers dismal and there are far too few of them.
We will not be back.

How often is Camp up-​kept or maintained? Annually? Never?
* Algae-​Mud Puddles growing in broken paddle boats.
* Broken latches on every boat dock tie.
* Golf clubs bent. Tees were chipped.
* Go-​cart steering wheels broken.
* Pop-​corn machine broken on movie-​night.
* 95 Degrees in the sun and the Pool was empty???
* When I entered the General Store, not even a «Hello».
* Women working General Store rude. Unwelcoming. Wow.
This place has so much potential. Too bad it’s falling apart!
‘Brickleberry’ would better suit it’s theme.

Yogi Bear’s park. The other reviews are fairly accurate, so I’ll just provide you a quick hit list:
Pros:
+ Inner roads are watered 3 x a day keeping dust down
+ Free activities during the weekend: outdoor movie theater, playground, 3 ½’ pool, bingo, tug-​o-​war, nature walk, hay ride, Yogi bear picture taking, and several others.
+ Paid attractions: miniature golf, paddle boat, kayak, and go-​karts.
+ Owners live on-​site
+ Sites are spread apart
+ Camp fires allowed
+ Small store with firewood, ice, milk, eggs, etc. But there’s only a few of each so they will run out!
+ Water and RV power available at sites
Cons:
— Windy road to get there, but what camping ground isn’t?
— They should mow the grass camp/​RV sites more often.
— Not enough shade, few trees at the sites
— Older facility, would benefit from a remodel
— Dirty shower
— Smelly bathrooms, they need to install a fan to help with the circulation.

Even though we were there from Sunday-​Tuesday morning (when times were a little slow and there weren’t a lot of campers and scheduled activities), my family and I had a lot of fun. This campsite was clean and had a lot of activities especially for the younger children. We stayed in the cabins, which were small but able to accommodate a lot of people.
We forgot to explore the creek, but my cousins and I were able to play in the playground, drive the little bikes, and drive down to Clearlake to rent a boat.
This campsite is up on Cobb Mountain, so you have to take a bunch of zig-​zag roads in order to get there, so if you don’t mind a semi-​long drive, this is a great place to go. :)
