This store is okay but has a weird odor when you enter. I like how they have Asian snacks and Harris ranch brand beef which is very good at a good price in bulk. Their spices, fruits and vegetables are a good price. The clerks are not friendly but not rude. So that is not a problem. Do not use your debit or credit card here. They claimed I had insufficient funds when I had over 600 in my account. I use cash only when shopping there. If your car is vandalized they are not legally responsible for your vehicle however in the front there is well lit parking in front of the store at night.

I had to come out to Coalinga yesterday on business, which was a bummer in itself. It’s stupid hot out there, and staying hydrated in a must if you don’t wish to drop dead from thirst right in the middle of E. Elm Avenue. So I seek out the first market/grocery store/gas station I can find in order to get a bottle of water. It just so happened that R-N Market was the first store I came across, unfortunately. I walk in and proceed to the back of the store to get the biggest bottle of water I can find. That’s all I was looking for, and that’s all I planned on purchasing. I head to checkout, where there is one lady with a shopping cart full of items who is getting her groceries bagged by the clerk, and is getting ready to leave. I had the bottle of water in my hand, and had just planned on handing it to the clerk when he was ready to ring me up. However, just before the clerk was done with the lady in front of me, a gentleman got in line behind me with a shopping cart full of groceries. When the clerk was done helping the lady, he immediately returns to the cash register, and starts scanning the items of the gentleman behind me… wtf? At no point did the clerk acknowledge me in any way. Verbally? Nope. Eye contact? Nada. It was almost like I wasn’t even there. The dude completely ignored me, despite the fact that I was standing DIRECTLY in front of him, and should have been helped before the guy behind me with a shopping cart full of crap. It would have taken him all of 15 seconds for him to ring me up, pay him and leave. So I stand there, awkwardly, for about 30 seconds before I think to myself«F this, I’m not giving these people my money.» I tossed the bottle of water on a rack next to some gnarly, stale-looking donuts and walk out, right past some kid who worked there who was standing by the door the whole time and said nothing as I was being ignored and disrespected. I don’t think this has ever happened to me at a grocery store, and hopefully it will never happen again. I sincerely hope this crappy bodega isn’t the only option in town for people to purchase their groceries at, because this place sucks.
