Steven’s Bicycles has all kinds of bikes for family, road, mountain and BMX, car racks, trailers, adult trikes and more. We have always carried only the highest quality cycling products available, and all of our products are guaranteed by both Steven’s Bicycles and the manufacturer.

History

Established in 1955.

Steven’s Bicycles started out as Steven’s Toy Box, selling bikes along with other toys. Eventually the sales and service of bikes became our specialty and the store changed over to become a full service bike shop. Store owner Brent and his wife, Tina, borrowed enough money to take over the original shop and In 2007 we opened our second store, located on the Old Town bike trail at the corner of Willow and Nees in Clovis.

We’ve always been a family run business and though the years our mission has remained the same: giving our customers friendly personal service while providing the best selection and value in everything we sell. Steven’s Bicycles has been voted «Fresno’s Best Bike Shop» in the Fresno Bee People’s Choice Awards every year since 2006, named one of «America’s Best Bike Shops,» and has always been an «A+» rated member of the Better Business Bureau.

When Devin joined the Steven’s Bicycles team in 2014 we quickly realized he was the perfect choice to manage our Clovis location. His positive attitude, commitment to excellence, and dedication to great customer service really shows! Devin’s positive work ethic has been a great influence to our employees too, they’re constantly learning about our products to better serve our customers.

In addition to being a cyclist himself, Devin is a Body Geometry Fit specialist and graduate of Specialized Bicycles’ SBCU program, an expert mechanic certified in a wide range of products, and a graduate of the League of American Bicyclists’ Cycling Safety program.

So I don’t necessarily like leaving bad reviews but when someone disappoints my son it is warranted. On Sunday I took a bike in for a «deluxe tune» this was a gift for my son. He want this bike fixed up for his birthday and six grade graduation. The bike mechanic quoted me a price that in my opinion was way to high but my son had his heart set on fixing this bike. After we agreed on the price he stated it would be fixed and like new on Wednesday «today». Then I paid for the repair.
Today when my son got home from school he was jazzed to go get his bike. We live over 30 minutes away and had not got a call so I called them before making the drive. The girl could not find my work order at first. Then she came back and told me that it was not done. When I asked when it was going be done she could not give me an answer and she said she would have a bike mechanic call me back.
Meanwhile my son is epically disappointed!

These guys and girls at Steven’s Bicycles are awesome. I just bought my second bike from then in 9 months.
They have always taken great care of me and my bicycle needs, from sales, to flat tires, to adjustments for my bike as well as fitting. They are one of the reasons I enjoy riding so much.

My husband bought our 7 year old son a bike from here today. Upon getting the bike home and adjusting the seat he realized he needed a 24 inch, not the 20 inch he had purchased. He took the bike back within 1 hour of the original purchase time and was informed there was a mandatory $ 30 restocking fee. Absolutely ridiculous! We will never consider this store for another bike purchase.

EXCELLENT Customer Service! I dropped in 5 minutes before closing with a small maintenance issue in the middle of a ride. Not only did they stay a few minutes after hours to get me back up and running perfectly, but they did it for free! While I was waiting, the salesman and technicians were friendly and had great riding tips and advice (as I am a total rookie). This will absolutely be my go-​to place for bicycle items from now on! Thank you!

Worst service ever. Bought a spoke there a few days ago. Owner told me if I couldn’t switch it out, bring it back and they’d take care of it. «It’ll just take a minute .» I took the the tire in today. First employee, took me to a second employee. Second employee said he’d help me in «one minute». He then went and helped 4 other customers. We’re looking to buy a new bike, so I looked a round and only found tags on about 1⁄3 of the bikes.
Then 2 handed me off to employee number 3 who kept me waiting another 20 minutes. This time i sat on a stool and tried to be attentive, so I could be helped at the first chance. At some point he said he’d «be with me in a minute» and then got annoyed when I asked if I could leave the tire and come back later saying he might not be able to get to it today. (??why would I stay until tomorrow??)
When 3 eventually did get to me, he said it would take 40 minutes and would call me when it was done. Three hours later I went back to the shop and even though I could see the tire on the machine, employees 2 & 3 could not find the ticket, number 3 argued that he’d left me a message even after I showed him there were no calls on my phone. Eventually they let me leave with the tire (after I produced my carbon of the ticket they never found) and they charged me a $ 25 labor fee.
Hey guys you messed up. I’m in the market for a new bike for one of my kids and at least 2 helmets. Our fam spends a bundle on biking. Five of us ride and we buy gear and gadgets. Give you one guess where we will NOT be shopping.

As a beginner I came in to purchase a giant bike. Found one for around what I was looking to spend. They had a medium already setup but not at small. I’m around 5’5 and asked if a small would be best. They assembled the small bike so I was able to test ride both. Ended up taking the medium. I came back 3 weeks later to have my seat replaced «purchased online «and they did it for free. Excellent customer service. Thanks George!

Yes this is the same Steven’s bike shop from Shields and Plahm, still giving her the same great service they have for 50 years. Most people don’t know they moved so far away from their old Location and I’m still buying and getting my bike serviced here. Oldest by store in Fresno

Great customer service. I bought a bike online and it came with a few missing pieces of hardware. They gave me the pieces I needed, no problem and at no cost. The service was quick too, even though they were short handed and it was right before Christmas.

Although the selection and quality of Stevens Bicycle shop is top notch, the customer service is horrendous!
I took my bike in for some simple repair and tune ups, was told it would be a week and they would call me when it’s done. 2 week later and I still didn’t have my bike nor a call with an update. When I called to find out what was going on the guy was very rude and told me that he didn’t know if the part was in because it was being shipped from the east coast. His only answer! I went to the store to pick up my bike and take it somewhere else to find my bike was in the exact condition I gave it to them in.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Steven’s Bicycle Shop!
My first stop in was to see if they had a spring I lost from the quick connect front wheel. They found one for me… no charge and that was enough to remind me to go back to them for my bike needs :-)
so, about 6 months or so later… in the market for a new bike… I knew exactly where I was going to go back to!
The most helpful, professional and friendly staff!
I wasn’t real sure what I wanted when walking in but the staff walked me though uses of my bike, riding scenarios and BAM! I was able to find me a GREAT bike in my price range. They even went out of their way to custom cut my seat post to fit the bike frame I wanted. Loved the experience so much that I went back the next day and bought another bike.

Great selection of quality bicycles and amazing service! Multiple times I have taken my bike in (which I bought there 6 years ago) for various upgrades or routine maintenance and they are always prompt, courteous, and very reasonably priced for the expert mechanics they have and the job they do.
I highly recommend them for the beginner, intermediate, or expert rider.

After several visits, I gotta say every single experience has been excellent. I’ve recently purchased a Specialized and Giant bicycle, I can’t be happier. From the beginning the staff treated me in a professional and friendly manner. They know their stuff and they have a great selection of everything «high end». It’s not for everyone though, you see if you want the best quality & service, you’re gonna pay for it. This shop has it. Other reviews are unfair because they complain about the prices, go to Walmart and buy a Huffy. I’ve gone to other shops around town with lower budget products and I also received lower customer service. I personally expect the best and I’m about as particular as they get and you know what? 5 stars for Stevens Bicycles because they surpassed my expectations and I’m very satisfied. I can see why people with less-​than-​awesome bikes would be intimidated by this place. You’re hard pressed to find a bike for less than $ 500, and even then you can definitely get a sense of inferiority when you see the bikes with a five digit price tag. On the plus side, if you buy a bike here, you get free maintenance on it.
Even though they probably have a million dollars worth of inventory and a lot of their clientele ride bikes worth more than their car, the people that work there are all very nice and are not condescending. The problem, if you want to call it that, is that their merchandise (bikes included) is mostly Specialized and Giant gear, so it is not inexpensive. They will do special orders without hesitation if you’re looking for something unusual.

I’ve been looking for a decent down to earth bike shop since I moved to the Fresno area 4 years ago. This is definitely not the shop and I won’t be spending another dime at this place.
Relative experience: been in the bike industry most of my life.
Scenario: needed Dérailleur Housing for a bike build I was working on for a friend. We cruise over to Steven’s because they are close and opened on Sunday (only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1). They charged me $ 4.99 a foot for Jagwire Housing. I saw them pull it out of a 25ft roll. So guess what, I had to go and check it out on a distributor’s page to find out what it cost them to purchase a 25ft roll. Let’s just say that if they double the price per foot they should be charging in the neighborhood of $ 2.64 a foot retail and not $ 4.99. The 8 foot we purchased more than paid for their entire box. I’m all about a business making a profit but that is beyond ridiculous. Because of this they have lost my business and referrals.
