I’ve been taking my two dogs to sassy paws for a couple of years and in the beginning it was okay service. One of my dogs had skin tags and cut her the first time and was bleeding. After, we put in the notes that she had skin tags so they would no longer cut her and cause pain. Then a few months later I took them in for a bath and nail trimming and I picked up my dogs with them shaved and my dog bleeding once again from cutting her. If you have any issues that they need to be a aware of make sure they know and be clear about what kind of services you want done to your dogs. I would not recommend this place to anyone and they have completely lost my business.

After being groomed at Sassy Paws, my dogs come back with uneven hair and nicks from razors. At the most recent grooming, the groomer shaved my dog completely wrong, and didn’t shave her neck or ears at all, and her body was very choppy. I was furious.
After going to Sassy Paws, my dogs have been so afraid and skittish whenever I try to bathe or brush them. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Horrible cut. I get it. It happens sometimes, but please don’t present him to me as if you did a good job and then be defensive. Own it! It looks like he fell in a box of razor blades. I told the owner I wasn’t going to pay, she agreed. Won’t be back

Okay so seeing that they don’t want to respond to me, I thought I’d come here to let everyone know what happened. I took my dog in last weekend to get a haircut and bath. Everything came out good like always. I noticed my dog was scratching quite a bit. But I thought it was the stuff they put on them to make them smell good. so I ignored it. Monday rolls around and I’m noticing that she’s still scratching. but even worse. so I checked her, and she has FLEAS!!! I’m beyond pissed. I know 100% she got them there cuz she didn’t have them when I took her. on top of that, I have a spray guy that’s been coming to my home for the past 10+ years that sprays for fleas, ticks, ect. I called them and left them a message and nobody has called me back. it’s now friday. a $ 40 haircut has turned into $ 110 because we had to buy medication so she wouldn’t give them to my other dogs. I’m never going back there. and hopefully, everyone that reads this listens and doesn’t go there.

I just took my dog into sassy paws and the lady at the front was on the phone when we walked in. About 5 min goes by and she yells for someone in the back to come out, so a girl came out completely felt my dog, who is a Scottish terrier, around his WHOLE body to check for mats. (never once Greeting him or letting him sniff her) Then immediately put him in a cage. I fully explained that I did not want my dog shaved, I specifically told them where to cut and how long he needed to be. She then told me she would call me when he was ready. Well, hours went by and finally I called… She said «oh yeah, he’s ready.» Slightly irritated, I go to get him. When I get there she of course, doesn’t remember me, then tells me, «your dog was severely matted and we had to shave him!» She had completely felt him when he FIRST arrived. She is completely LAZY. She later explained that she had put a MUSSEL on my dog. (he wouldn’t hurt a fly) He is also very timid since he left there as if they yelled and abused my dog. He also has a BURN MARK FROM THE CLIPPERS getting too HOT!
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TAKE THEIR PET TO THIS PLACE AS THEY ARE RUDE, HASTY and LAZY.

My dogs always come home looking so much better.

I took my dog to Sassy Paws one time months ago. First of all the past reviews are true… the owner/​groomer is not very friendly. She took my dog right away, without greeting my dog, and put her right into a kennel. The overall grooming assessment was poor. The shave job was highly uneven. I told her to only trim the top of my dog’s head, and she had shaved the head right down the middle. I found two bloody cuts on my dog. One on the neck, and another on her hip area. This was not there before the grooming.
My dog after this grooming was highly afraid of brushes and water. Makes me think some type of abuse took place. I know those are high accusations, but I can only state the facts. My dog did not have any issues with brushing or water before this grooming. It is months later, and she still is a little squimish. When I picked up my dog, I encountered the same not so friendly attitude from what I believe is the owners daughter.
Overall, I would say this place is really busy. In my observations, the groomers may feel they do not have time to be kind to animals and friendly. It is all about making money!!!
I since have bought my own grooming supplies, and taught myself how to do my dog’s grooming.

I’ve been taking our terrier with stiff, bristly hair and two long-​hair cats to Sassy Paws for years. They are always courteous and do a great job. My hyper terrier has been banned by 2 previous groomers but Sassy Paws handles him just fine (with a muzzle they supply). Just make sure if you ask for a certain cut you know exactly what it is. I didn’t and they took my cat back and redid him for free with no complaints.
Just be clear how you want your animal trimmed they will happily comply.
They will also give you the appointment time you request that fits your schedule.
This is an easy recommend.

I took my cat there to get a quick shave. I thought the $ 65 price was a bit high but I was willing to pay it since it was last minute. I received a call an hour after I dropped her off letting me know she was ready to be picked up. When I got there I looked in the carrier (didn’t take her out since there were dogs in the store) and she was in fact shaved. Looking back I should have taken her out. The cut was sloppy and uneven. She was not even cleaned up after she was shaved, she still had the loose hair all over her. The one thing that pushed me over the edge was the fact that they shaved off her whiskers on one side of her head. That is the one big no-​no when working with cats. The cat has been running into things like she is drunk. I left a message but have not received any return calls.

I purchased an expensive fancy dog collar for my 5 lb Yorkie about two months ago. The fancy beading on the collar started coming off and now half of it is off the collar just hanging there. I took it back to Sassy Paws and explained I purchased it ABOUT two months ago and just wanted to exchange it for another one. The rude girl behind the counter practically bit my head off when she very directly told me NO they wouldn’t take it back because their return policy is 60 days and I bought mine ABOUT two months ago. at my insistence, she supposedly went in the back to call the owner to ask if they can take it back and came back ruder than before to say NO. They don’t stand behind their products, are rude, and have no customer service skills whatsoever. Will NEVER return.

Have taken our Yorkie here for about nine months with no complaints. Have specific requests for nothing to be cut on the face. Picked her up today and part of her face had been cut really short. The owner said she was well aware of our requests and an employee had done the cut. She asked me if I had cut it or a dog sitter. Her hair was there before the appointment and short short short after the appointment. I am sick to my stomach. It will take about a year for it to grow back. Even she stated that if you just don’t cut a Yorkie’s face the hair will naturally lay down. She said she would talk to her employees and call me back. I realize I am writing this review at 6:45pm and perhaps that is not enough time for her to get back to me, but I am extremely disappointed. I feel helpless. This is the second groomer that has done this and we suffer the consequences for months on end.
Need to update my review. The owner called me and had talked to her staff and found out who cut my Yorkie’s hair. She stated she sternly admonished and did not in any way approve of what they did. She was extremely apologetic, offering to personally cut our dog’s hair and to refund our money. She said she would totally understand if we decided to go elsewhere. I told her that I knew she understood exactly what we wanted and would continue to use her by requesting her exclusively.
This is an owner who is working hard to create and maintain a good and honest business. She even gave me her cell phone number to call.

Took my Shih Tzu there one time, felt like we were rushed in of corse it was early, She didn’t greet my dog, didn’t like that, she just put her in a cage and told me shed call when she got done, she didn’t call until after 1pm, So no way will I take her back to be left in a cage like that, That was over 5 hours there, They did do a good grooming and they have a real cute shop just wish there were no cages, and the workers or owner? Should be more caring and at least say hello to the dog.

Jacked up the price to double for a young dog who was a little excited. Was $ 30 before then decided to charge $ 60 because they felt like it. Never be back again.

My mom has been taking my two fur-​kids here for a few years, and now that I’m reunited with them, I keep taking them here. The groomer (owner?) recognizes them right away by name and they always come out looking super cute. Sometimes with a bandana, sometimes with a small seasonally colored bow. I’m not one who believes in dressing up my dogs, but I do leave the bow on for a few days as it’s just so cute, even on my boy dog Oliver (jury’s still out on whether or not he’s humiliated, he doesn’t seem to mind though). My girl dog Jenny is pretty anxious and has separation anxiety sometimes, but she never seems stressed out when I come pick her up, and doesn’t freak out once she realizes where she’s going, so she must not mind it. There’s also a shop full of dog outfits and accessories but I haven’t ever bought anything. Highly recommend.

I’ve used Sassy Paws twice to have my cats shaved with a «lion cut». I know not many people have their cats shaved, but we have to do it regularly as my cats are both long-​haired and they shed a lot! Also, one of my cats has the tendency to get dingleberries stuck in her long tail, so we just get them the lion cut about every three-​four months. Anyway, we used to go to petsmart to get the cats their haircuts, but they need copies of rabies vaccines updated annually. The cats are indoor cats only, so I don’t always get it done in as timely a manner as it should be.
Anyway, the first time I took the cats in, they charged $ 100. I called and asked ahead how much it would cost, and that seemed pretty reasonable. I tipped $ 20 when I picked up the cats. They did a pretty good job, but didn’t shave Buffy’s tail, so we still had the occasional dingleberry stuck in the tail, but oh well, no shedding.
The second time I took the cats in I made sure to ask for the tails shaved (they just have little pom poms at the end. This was done without issue. One complaint I have is that the haircuts are entirely un even. The «mane» is incredibley long on one side, yet short on the other. It basically looks like my cats have very lopsided mustaches.
The owner (I’m guessing) seems very nice and always says our cats are well-​behaved.
Unfortunately, I won’t be back. The reason is that the price was jacked-​up without notification. I had my husband pick them up and I told him to tip $ 20. When he came back he told me they charged $ 130! It was $ 100 only four months before! Add the tip and it cost us $ 150 to shave two cats. I told Eric to buy some claw-​proof gloves, because he will be shaving the cats next time!

Nice service, didn’t laugh at me even though i’d never been to a pet groomer before (with my German Shepher mix of course). Did take a while, so my dog had to be kenneled, but when she came out, the shave was great, the nails were clipped and filed down to rounded points (attention to detail+!) and my dog was happy, not scared or skiddish or anything, just peachy. They are super busy, so bring your pet in early and be prepared to pick up in the early afternoon, and of course call a few days ahead or as early as possible. I think quite possible the whole neighborhood takes their dogs either here or Petsmart, and that’s a LOT of dogs. $ 45 for the deal seemed expensive, but once a year, it’s worth it to me.
