I specialize in «Natural Light Portraits». Beautiful natural light is the most appealing light to bring out the most subtle features in a person’s look. Natural outdoor lighting also helps a person to relax and be themselves outdoors. Almost all of my portraits are done in wide open shade, providing incredibly beautiful light for portraiture. I have been a Pro photographer for more than 30 years, and love creating beautiful photos for people to share with their loved ones.

I also specialize in «Car Shots», High Resolution photos of cars/​bikes/​truck done with a flare! I work regularly with beautiful local models, who are also available to pose with your lean, mean street machine.

Although I specialize in «Natural Light» photography, I also do studio work, and can bring studio lighting to your home for home sessions.

History

Established in 2010.

I was a wedding and portrait photographer in the SF bay area during the early 1980’s. I moved to Fresno in 1986, and became a forensic photographer with the Fresno PD for 21 years, retiring in December 2009, and opening «Rob Barbery Photography» the next month in January, 2010.

I basically fell in love with «natural light», and have fine tuned my shooting to be almost exclusively natural light sessions. There is just no comparison to the beauty of natural light on a person’s face to bring out every nuance of their personality.

Since January 2010 I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of local, and California models to help me develop my style. I have a great working relationship with many of the models I’ve photographed over the years, and some of them are available as «Car Shots Models», to shoot with clients cars.

I am truly blessed to be doing what I love, and I am sure that it shows in my work. Professional photography at reasonable prices.

I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. I am a veteran of the USAF, retired Fresno Police forensics photographer, and married to the same beautiful woman for 37 years, I have been involved in photography since 1978. I remember the very spot I decided to become a photographer. My wife and I were on a cross country trip, from CA — NY and back, when we stopped in St. Louis to go up into the «Arch». After coming down, I had my wife pose for me under and around the Arch. It was then and there I decide to become a photographer. When we returned to Vacaville, Ca., I immediately started photography classes at Solano Comm. College. I began shooting friends and neighbors to gain experience. I opened «Bob’s Photography» in Fairfield; Ca, in 1980. However, I was a better photographer, than I was a business man, and closed down in 1986. Since then I have always done freelance work, and of course I was a Crime Scene Photographer from ’88 to 2009. I’m finally doing what I love!
